Amazing selection! Fun interior. Warm and personal attention given to each customer from the owner/friendly neighbor (if you live in Madison Park). Many wine sellers are either low grade, kitsch design selling 2 buck chuck. NOT THIS PLACE! First off, you really do feel like you are in a cellar. And the wine selection may not be as large as say, Trader Joe's, but it's selection makes the others look so lower class. You really dont know where to start when you come in here. Its overwhelming seeing such foreign and expensive labels. Fortunately, the owner is very knowledgable and ready to advise. Just tell him why you are buying the bottle and for what occasion and he will give you a few options and they are good. What more can you ask for than to have a personal shopper at a wine shop? In short, I used to go to costco for wine, well not anymore!

When in the neighborhood, I often stop to see Fred, and always leave with a load of his wonderful champagne offerings, which are impressive.

Came here the past couple Fridays to get my weekend started and closing out a work week. The…read moreambiance here is intimate and the music isn't too loud which is great while sipping some beers. There are several beers and some ciders on tap from all around and all the ipa's I've tried here have been pretty decent. from there you grab your brew and have a seat at high top tables within the tap room. Again, the setting is mid-sized good for a couple groups of four and a few two person tables. Music is at a decent volume and is lit dimly making it decent for a date spot or just a place to have conversation without raised voices. Fridges line the tap room so you can mix and match beers, ciders and wines to take out which is cool. I like Bottleworks, I want to enjoy it more, but there are some issues holding me to 3 stars. The staff are...alright. Not bad, but I feel could be a little friendlier. Also they don't allow sample pours? This is a common thing at most breweries, but maybe it's because this is a tap room, but beers run a bit higher here - $8-9 a pour so that's annoying that you can't even try a couple. Lastly, they rotate things out it seems weekly. Some of the more popular options I suppose they keep but seems like a lot of turn around on the drinks so if you like something they have on tap, don't get too attached. Perhaps on subsequent visits It will improve, and I can boost the score here, but besides the decent beers and setting, it's just OK here.
