This place is a nightmare . The staff does not communicate - to the families, nor treat the patience with respect. I absolutely am BAFFLED that this place is still running. A family friend ended up in the emergency room with sepsis and unclear injuries just after two months in their care. They view patience as paperwork rather than human, and the director as well as the nurses are horrible. They do not have an ounce of kindness or compassion in their body. If you care about a loved one please don't put them here. Nurse director jackie and nurse manager Erica are heartless, negligent and should not be working in a care facility. My grandmother who suffers from dementia was there because of a broken hip. After her roommate told the family she fell, the nurses denied it, even with a bruise the size of a baseball on her bum. My grandmother became sepsis because of a neglected inflection, and the nurses station refused to call an ambulance and wouldn't get a doctor in her room. I don't even want to give this place one star! They don't deserve it. My father was here for rehabilitation and this is the worst place ever. My step mom took him out after a few weeks. Problem with insurance and appeals which they wait until last minute to tell you but will give you a bill very fast. Ants, boarded windows, old nasty curtains, cracked ceiling and peeling wallpaper, lack of staff, miserable staff with the exception of a few ...shall I go on?? Yes I will... My father couldn't breathe and they wouldn't call an ambulance right away. The nurse said they had to wait for a doctor's order? Really? After the back and forth they called for him. He waited in the bathroom way to long until someone attended to him. What about the people in the nursing home with no voice? Very sad and I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy. There are not enough CNAs. CNAs complain constantly, time the time they spend with you, don't speak or understand much English, tell residents how busy they are then stand in Hall with other aides and talk in a foreign language. They take a long time to get food to you even warm when it arrives to the floor. The food has much to be improved. Even eating in the dining room, off the kitchen you can get cold food. Menus are stale and need severe updating. Kitchen is short staffed more often than not. Pricing, compared to other local places, is extremely high for the same services. Ambiance is old and out dated. Dining room looks like a very old banquet hall. I would NOT recommend this residence to anyone except a bull dozer. read more

Madison Center's facilities are not well cared for. The basic maintenance is not done in a timely fashion. The staff is very friendly and attentive but sorely over worked. read more

Do not like the care given to my Mother at Madison Center. Also, DO NOT believe staff about Medicare or Medicaid coverage. They string you along until all time has elapsed to file an appeal. Best to consult Medicaid attorney ASAP even if you are sure Medicaid will approve nursing home care. Do not rely on anything Medicare/Medicaid caseworker tells you. They are NOT there to help but are there to hinder any application approvals... read more
