I will list what where we stopped and rate each individual place. SALT AND SMOKE- OMG THE BEST PLACE ON THE TOUR. They gave us brisket and Mac -n- cheese( which they just won an award for) I live on the East Coast and we are not known for good BBQ but being a foodie I do know good food and this place was slammin! The brisket was the best I've ever had and so was the Mac-n-cheese made with some ritz crackers on top. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. They showed us the smokers up close which was very cool. They have 4 different sauces to try all made in house and all delicious. Liked it so much we are going back for dinner. PI PIZZA- Being from the East Coast, New Haven, home of world famous Sally's and Pepe's Pizza I have high standards for pizza. This pizza was not what I'm used to but enjoyed trying it anyway. Chicken schwarma was tasty and falafel was average. Owner wasn't talkative or friendly but that's ok. I would eat here if a broke college kid or drunk at 2am but not a place for a first date SEOUL TACO- Korean taco joint. We had a beef taco which was delicious and kimchi rice that was also good. I would go back to this place for sure. PICCIONE PASTRY- they gave each of us a gooey butter cake canoli. St. Louis is famous for gooey butter cake if u didn't know. The cannoli was filled to order and was very good. Very sweet but very good. The tour was about $55 a person and was well worth it. I've been on other food tours across the country and this one gave us the most food for our money. I've been to others where we left hungry but not here! If you take this tour at 11 am like we did I suggest you do not eat breakfast! I would definitely recommend this tour if you are visiting St Louis both for the food and to learn the history. We are cardinals season ticket holders and one of the highlights each year is the Clydesdales march around the stadium on opening day. We had important guest coming that was a new adventure. A Brother whom I had not seen in over 35 Years. The Brewery tour seemed like a neutral event to get to know each other ad spend the day with our wives. I could not have been more perfect. The house itself is that last remaining piece of the original neighborhood which originally stood outside of city limits. The docent was knowledgeable, welcoming, and gave what felt like an insider's look into the Campbell family highlighting original family belongings. My favorite pieces include a gas lamp that illuminates beautifully (seriously stunning) and massive portait of James A. Campbell with his dogs. Oh -- and the ornate toilet. I recommend a visit at Christmas time. The house is beautifully decorated for the holidays and you might just get to see and HEAR a special Christmas tree stand/music box!
