A surprising amount of options here. I was like "babe, they don't sell vegan cheese in Montana." But lo and behold, Madison Foods had such a diverse range of options, they even had vegan cheese, gluten free bread, coconut milk, fish sauce, and all kinds of things I didn't expect to find. What I did find was that I was basically a caricature of a typical california dude who is looking for obscure health food. But we were super happy with all the good food we got here. Plus they even have a walk-in beer refrigerator in the back of the store with a huge selection of all kinds of beer. We came back many a time, and will return next time we are up in Ennis. read more

This grocery store has gotten a makeover and has doubled in size . I believe this is the only grocery store in the area , and they have pretty much all you need. We came here to get odds and ends for our stay at an Airbnb. read more

For a small town and a small store, this place has a lot of options! I have a lot of food allergies and have to stick to a pretty strict diet so I was skeptical about the limitations I might face moving to a small town. Boy was I surprised though! There were several options for people on a vegan or gluten free diet. Very impressed! read more

Pleasant staff; prices reflect location. Not a huge variety of meats and seafood; but adequate for when passing thru.

I always stop on my way to Ennis and get there deli chicken it's excellent hot or cold. Also it's the best and cheapest place to get supplies around. Maybe the only place in miles read more

What a great little store in this great little town. The store has a large variety of groceries. The meat and produce are fresh and well organized, and the areas are very clean. The shelves are well stocked. Really good selection of Asian and Mexican ingredients. Plenty of checkers, everyone is helpful and nice. I have been shopping here while visiting my relatives in Ennis. Every place should have such a clean, well-stocked, pleasant store to shop in. Lucky Ennis! read more

We stopped here to get some chicken, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. The food was good and hot. The max and cheese was creamy and tasted great. They did not have any local potato salad but that is okay as the options they sold from the fridge were good. When we travel we like to stop at deli's to get lunch as it helps us reduce the time off the road and the food is generally delicious and less expensive than a restaurant. I also like small town grocery stores but their prices are typically higher. read more

I give it two stars because we bought some mean local brats from here that we thoroughly enjoyed. I would normally give this place one star. In a progressive locale like Ennis, I expected folks to be much more cognizant of COVID rules. This store was packed and of course none of the shoppers were wearing a mask. My face turned blue having to hold my breath (under my mask of course) walking through a crowded aisle. That being said, when we continued on and drove through downtown Ennis - a beautiful town - a stranger stopped us middle of the road and reco'd we turn back to see a pack of bears. Little small town store trying to survive. Visited July 3 store packed with people. No masks, no social distancing. Really, really stupid. The crowded isles were packed with people without masks. Dumber than that. We always bring in our own bags. We were not allowed to lay them on the conveyor belt, nor the cashier bag our groceries. No masks, no social distance but some rocket scientists decides bags are now dangerous. We always wear our masks! Wear masks! read more

Great market in this sleepy town...they had lots of locally produced meat products as expected. The peppered bacon by Madison Smokehouse was incredible. Be prepared to pay for quality though...definitely worth it! read more

Madison Foods Deli cooked a full Turkey dinner for us for Thanksgiving. Wonderful meal at a good price. Enabled us to enjoy the holiday with plenty of leftovers for additional meals. You should consider adding to your deli operations for other holidays (Christmas, Easter, etc.). Service was excellent and the food delicious. Thanks again!! read more

That is an ignorant comment! How do you know what the Jamaincans are being paid? Most people enjoy being able to visit with these students, and these students are a big part of the team at Madison Foods. Yes, Ennis is a small town, however Madison Foods carries a wide selection of food, and for a small town I think they do a pretty awesome job. Some people need to keep in mind that this is a small town and that there isnt the work force here that there is in Bozeman, Ennis Needs these student to help not only Madison Foods but many other business in the town through the summer. By the way Jamaincans are NOT the only students that do a work exchange program here in Ennis, but they maybe the only students that stand out. read more

Great little supermarket. Had all the essentials plus an organics section and a "beer cave". Nothing missing here.

I live in Helena and have shopped there for years on the way to our Madison Valley cabin. Good selection for a town of this size. Another reviewer complained the store hires Jamaican student workers for minimum wage. I will personally inquire about the wages, but I enjoy talking to the Jamaicans. They are bright young people working to earn money for their education, and I am glad to see them here. read more
