Amazing bar and venue. Amazing place in Madison Alabama that has good live music every Friday and Saturday,a smoke free karaoke lounge (Voted best in the Tennessee Valley) with over 250,000 songs to choose from and Karaoke is 7 days a week,Bingo ever Thursday night,Patio stage, Pool tables, Foosball tables,6 big screen TVs and 4 projector screens, longest happy hour in the whole area, friendly staff and a great owner who is constantly looking to better the place! Would recommend to anyone in the Madison area!

Date of visit: 12/30/2011 - I come here 4 to 6 times yearly, that is to say, every-time I'm in Huntsville / Madison area visiting my mom and dad. I bring my dad here to play pool and drink a few beers with him. I've yet to try the food, but my dad isn't into bar food like I am. The reasons while I like The Station: #1. They open at 4pm daily and it is usually quiet here until the night scene starts, so I can chat with my almost deaf dad without having to shout my brains out. #2. They have two of my favorites on tap: Blue Moon and Yuengling. The Yuengling is $2 bucks a draft. Healthy serving size for the money, frosty cold glass and right to the brim... yum!!! They also have four Bar-box pool tables, which are in fantastic shape for bar tables. A buck a game is a little steep, but because of # 1 & #2, I can really live with this. Pool is something my dad can still play despite the severe arthritis in his ankles and wrists. The Station earns 3 Stars because of the above, and the waitress earned them another star because she recognizes us as regulars even though it is only 4-6 times yearly and makes sure she says hello and takes good care of us (Not to mention, she's a rather attractive woman too)!!! Cheap beer, good pool, and a cute waitress.... all the good things in life to help my dad continue to enjoy his.

Friends having a great time at the Station in madison!!!

But be warned you will smell like smoke and some of the patrons creep down from the hills like molases so they are typically looking to fight a "city boy".

The restaurant sits just a stone's throw from the ballpark where the Rocket City Trash Pandas play, so the whole place already has a fun, lively atmosphere before you even sit down. Now given the name "Prohibition," I half expected someone to knock on the door and ask for a secret password like it was 1927. Back in those days, enjoying a drink required secrecy, dim lights, and maybe a jazz band playing in the corner. Today, things are a little easier... though for this non-drinker, my order was simple: water on the rocks, hold the lemon. I prefer my water about 100 proof for maximum flavor. My boss and coworker grabbed seats at the bar while we looked over the menu. We kicked things off with the Pork Belly Burnt Ends and the Pork Bao Buns. Let me tell you, those Pork Belly Burnt Ends were an absolute masterpiece. They came out crisp and seasoned just right with a little spicy kick. Served with raw carrots, homemade pickles, and lettuce wraps to bundle those little jewels together--downright tasty. If food had a Hall of Fame, these would already have a plaque on the wall. The Pork Bao Buns were good as well, but they simply couldn't match the grand slam the Pork Belly Burnt Ends delivered. For my main course, I ordered the Smoked Wangs with the Jala Mango seasoning and a side salad. The wings were delicious--cooked and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was solid. No bootlegging required. Prohibition definitely hit it out of the park today. Between the great food, the great service, and the fun atmosphere near the ballpark, this place is a must-stop for locals or anyone just passing through Madison. Our waitress tried pretty hard to convince us to order dessert, so I'm guessing their sweets are just as flavorful as everything else on the menu. The only problem I had today? I couldn't finish my meal. I was absolutely stuffed. If this had been the 1920s, the only crime committed here would've been leaving food on the plate. Great food. Great service. I'll gladly return--though next time I may need a little more room in the stomach.

When we got into the parking lot, we thought they were closed - not a car in sight. But I saw a tiny open sign and insisted that between that, and the hours on their website, they must be open. My friend and I insisted differently. She went in and, guess what? They really were open! When we walked in and saw a sign for happy hour. Bonus! We were set. We each bought a draft for a dollar off and purchased a few of the $5 apps. The garlic knots are noted in several reviews so that was a no brainer. We also ordered the beer cheese with pretzels and our friends ordered the spinach dip with tortilla chips. I can't tell you how many beers there were, let's just say plenty. The beer was icy cold, perfect for another 95 degree day. Yelp didn't disappoint, the garlic knots were soft, pull apart deliciousness. The accompanying pizza sauce was just ok. The beer cheese as good. The accompanying pile of soft pretzel bites would have been better without so much salt. I didn't try the spinach dip. Nobody else seemed very thrilled with it. It came with tortilla chips - I don't know what kind they were but even they didn't look good. Beer Hog is designed for fun. Pool tables, dart boards, a small arcade, indoor corn hole and an array of daily activities including Harry Potter trivia night, line dancing night and live music on the weekend. There was quite a bit of patio area which will be great once our inferno weather pattern breaks. There are a couple rooms available to rent for various size events. We spoke with one of the 3 owners. The three of them designed and built out the entire interior. The owner we spoke with told us how they built the bar and every table in the building. They did a great job identifying and executing the unusual repurposing of the old library. Now that school is restarting, patrons need to mindful of afternoon traffic. If you don't know Hughes Road, just know it's a zoo when all of the schools let out. We'll definitely be back. The garlic knots alone are enough to guarantee that.

We liked the ability to choose the wines from the list. We also ordered a caprese crostini tray to nibble on while we tasted the wines. Most of the wines were "OK" to "Good" in taste with a couple of wines that a bit too young for tasting. But it was my mistake for selecting them. All in, it was a fun way to spend the Erving.
