The first one only told me that Kat from the Durango office confirmed that the transfer was made according to my request. My request was made a number of months ago and I am almost 70. I didn't remember asking to transfer my money to Wells Fargo. The next employee told me that the funds were still in my Madison account. I am an 83-year-old retired Senior Bank Lending Officer who served the Houston Community 1960-2006. In 2006, I placed a portion of my retirement in a self-directed IRA with Madison Trust. Initially, this decision was a good move, and Madison Trust was always helpful. Several years ago, things at Madison changed... I found it more difficult to navigate in their upgraded online system. I use a MacBook Pro, and all of a sudden, access to Madison began to collapse... Since that Time, I have not been able to go online to handle the usual business of managing my IRA...Logging in with a MAC and navigating had changed ...Today I have zero access, and Madison Staff who are professional and offer assistance of sympathy, but no reconciling fix to the logon issues that block me from taking care of my business. I am at a complete loss, and Madison offers no path....I have no problems accessing my account with Major Banks and Brokerage Houses with whom I have business, it is only the New Madison Trust that can answer, I, their client, am at a point of dumbfounded loss! RUN! They are unethical and they don't care about you. They have made legal conclusions although they are not attorneys and those conclusions contradict legal advice from our attorney. They retaliated when I complained about lack of online access and a requirement that we keep a $500 non-interest bearing deposit with them ongoing. Because I complained, they are now trying to blow our ROTH tax exempt status by closing our account and not accepting an asset instead of allowing me to transfer to another custodian. RUN! Also, their website claims they have 20,000+ customers but only roughly 50 employees. No wonder they are so bad. RUN! read more

I utilized MTC as I wanted to create a self-directed IRA. I tried going to local banks in my area in California and was met with confused faces and lots of "questions for managers". Eventually after many attempts to keep it local I found Madison. While the process is inherently confusing at first they helped walk me through it. MTC and Broad Financial even helped get me prioritized treatment with the firms where I intended to direct my IRA funds.
