A wonderful way to spend a date night with my husband after Valentines Day. The club is so art nouveau in style, it pays tribute to the clubs of the early 60's. They have lava lamps on display floating hot lava moving slowly up and down. We were lucky enough to sit upstairs in the balcony at bar top tables. They serve classic cocktails and food during the performance so it's a one stop eventful time. There are many bands that play here, so if you're not a fan of big band styles there's rick, jazz, smooth jazz, contemporary., and more. Check out their website and find your own musical jam to sing along too. Yes music lovers they even sell t-shirts so you can have a souvenir of your night out. Check out their posters too you will float back in time with his graphically they are. I am a fan of this location and wouldn't mind returning to see some other acts. Service was really good. Staff was nice and helpful but madlife fell short with the food. The fried green tomato's were a hit, but sadly it stopped there. Friends ordered the wagyu cheesesteak and the steak was lacking. It was loaded up with peppers and onions and the filling was still a good inch/ inch and a half lower than the bread. Definitely not worth it for 25$. My husband and another friend got the chicken and sausage pasta, and both had rough nights which leads us to believe that they got food poisoning. read more

We went there on Friday night 5/1/26 around 9:30-9:45 pm. We came to see the live music on the patio. The 2 stars is because the music was good. The food was expensive and horrible. Definitely only go here for the music. But we almost didn't even get to get a seat on the patio. We had a party of 4 and the hostess almost didn't seat us because she didn't want to let us sit at a 6-top. There were 5 empty 6-top tables on the patio but she didn't want to let us sit at one of them. The kitchen was closing in 30 minutes. She needs to look at the time of night, what's available and use some common sense before turning away legitimate customers. read more

Madlife is a cool spot in the downtown area of Woodstock. I have been to shows here before but this time just stopped by to grab some dinner with friends. The restaurant is a good spot to grab an adult beverage as well as some handheld foods or complete entrees. This evening myself & my friend Trace had the Gyro's. The pita bread was fresh and the lamb, feta and tzatziki sauce were very good. My wife and Traces wife each had salads which they advised were cold and tasty! What a cool music venue. Everything about MadLife Stage & Studios is awesome and it's right in Downtown Woodstock. So check this out. A covered outdoor patio with live music. An indoor restaurant with full bar and nice menu. And a music venue with another full bar and limited menu. It holds approximately 40 cozy tables on the main floor and a balcony with high-tops for your viewing pleasure. While it was a little chilly the day of the show so we sat in the restaurant and had some apps and cocktails before the doors opened. Once inside we were treated to a wonderful show with the Tribute band doing all the favorites from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and others. They even sprinkled in a few Christmas songs. Other Tribute Bands that I've seen here are Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire, Eagles and Stevie Nix. All were amazing with great vocals, and excellent musicians. After my last post with the issue we had with them not accepting my son's state ID, my husband spoke with the general manager and she invited us back saying that they had changed the policy accepting vertical ID's. So we did return and they were kind enough to comp our first round of drinks, for us 3. I think they handled the situation well and were nice to come up with a solution so we or others won't have this issue again. Thank you MadLife you did the right thing! read more

My husband and I stopped in for brunch last year and we're left feeling meh...but I am happy to say this visit is very much on par with the visits of yore. Great little venue in downtown Woodstock with 2 live band stages and plenty of live music. One stage is on the covered(openable)/heated/fanned patio, and the other venue is inside. The inside venue has a cover charge, but you're paying for the experience and it's worth it. The inside stage/lighting is larger and the lighting is much nicer. There is a bar upstairs and downstairs for the inside venue, a sitting bar and some flat tops/booths and bar seating in the main restaurant room in between the two areas, and some flat tops on the patio. If you're looking for some place to have some drinks/food and listen to some great live music I highly recommend. For food they have some great American cuisine, appetizers, and deserts. The deserts they get are from Alpine bakery, which is down the road, and I also highly recommend. The drinks are fantastic. They have a large selection of cocktails, bottle and draft beer, and wines. The service is great and they have a very large helpful staff. We had a bit of an expected wait, only time10-15 minutes on a Friday night at 7. But the place was reasonably packed, but not too packed. Our server was prompt in getting our order, and our food only took 10 minutes from order to table. read more

If I had written this before today, I would have given MadLife a good review. However, today was one of the most horrible and embarrassing situations that I have experienced. I got there today around 3:00 pm for a general admission blues competition. General admission is where you share tables or if you move, someone is free to stand where you were standing. I saw a table with no one sitting at the table. Two of the seats on one side had something in them. I did not touch them. I picked an empty seat and sat there for 15 to 20 minutes not bothering anyone. Then, three ladies appeared and were not happy that I sat at "their table". Again, this is general admission and I was sitting in one seat between that table and another. The three lades started cusing at me and telling me to move. One lady kicked me under the table. One mentioned that they had left to smoke. Finally, I did cuse back at one of the ladies. One lady went and got a bouncer. Instead of MadLife coming to talk with me. I was grabbed by a bouncer and thrown outside. I was not asked my side of the story or given any chance to explain. I called 911 and Woodstock Police watched the video footage which aligned with my story. The video did not have audio. In any case, I did not commit a crime or endanger anyone. I was minding my own business watching a blues band. Then, I am being yelled at by three crazy, I believe they were, ladies. Then, I was assaulted by a MadLife's bouncer. The bouncer himself committed crimes of touching me without any reason to do so. read more

Well the first day's appointment was Burger came out way overdone and the vegetables that I ordered were very good but they were cold. I had to get them reheated. The waitress should have showed me the options to add on to the burger like the different type cheeses that I found out later they offered. Would have been nice to know that up front. It's always easier to cook the burger extra. If it's too raw, you can't go the other way. The ambiance of the place is very nice and nice bar area like to come later to see some shows. They can just play closer attention before they send food out to make sure little things can be fixed instead of having it sent back to be reheated read more

We showed up 15 min before opening and we were told that we were welcomed to stand but couldn't sit in their outdoor seating area. 5 minutes after we were told that, a party of 4 sat down and were almost immediately given water and while we were still standing and their order was taken shortly after while we were still standing. I'm hoping that the reason for this preferential treatment was because they were regulars and not because most of our party is Latin and not white like most of the clientele. I don't normally leave a negative review because I understand how hard it is to run a business but I'm doing this so that hopefully they think about how their actions affect perception on how the operate. read more

Great venue for live music, always a good time! Please book The Fuze again they were FANTASTIC! Such a great selection of oldies and new hits - they're a very eclectic cover band with a wide range. We also enjoyed listening to Rich Gunderlock on the patio before the show. The wait staff was amazing and brought our orders in so we didn't miss any of the show. This is the 2nd time in 30 days the food was awful. Tonight we ordered the chicken tenders and fries and a side salad. The chicken tasted burnt and the fries were like shells. Proper oil maintenance involves changing the fry oil regularly. It was disgusting. The mozzarella wedges were undercooked, they took it off the bill but apparently anything that touches the fryer is gross. Last time we ate there they messed up my Cesar salad. How do you mess up a salad? The food has gone downhill, won't be back again. I better not get food poisoning cuz I am pregnant and I will sue. read more

I haven't been back to Downtown Woodstock is a very long time and Madlife is such a great addition to this cute little downtown area. A group of us went here for Sunday brunch and opted to sit outside. Their outdoor patio is dog friendly (they will bring your dog a water bowl!) and is covered. They also had live music playing while we were there. We were seated for 15 mins before a server came to us to give us water and to order drinks. Our server, Kristen (who was both sassy and amazing, tbh) explained to us that the kitchen is super short staffed with a 40 min turnaround; this was no issue for us due to the current climate. Kristen constantly checked in on us while we were waiting for our food. A table who ordered after us did get their food before we did, which was pretty annoying. Another girl brought out our food orders - fried Brussels to share (fried Brussels in a soy sesame glaze and topped with peanuts - this was probably my fave), BLT burger with fries (too much bun for the amount of BLT you get), chicken tacos (lacked flavor overall but chicken was nice and tender) and eggs Benedict with a side of grits (grits needed salt and potatoes that came with the dish was undercooked). My biggest issue, honestly, is the girl who brought out our food. I know some restaurant safety procedure, but she was basically cradling one of the plates. At that point I didn't really cared but your girl was hangry for having to wait so long. Besides that, Kristen was awesome and chatted with us. She even offered us a complimentary slice of caramel cake from Alpine Bakery. I'm not dying to come back here for food, but might be a cool place to watch a cover band in the future. read more

Don't bother paying the extra premium for the balcony level. The service, there isn't any. The service down on the main floor is great. I complained to the manager who told me they only ever have one bartender in the premium level. I informed her that we couldn't even get to the bar due to all the people who came up from the lower level, so why pay the extra, The manager responded, "Would you like to be seated downstairs?" I can't get enough of this restaurant. It's easy to get too and after or before eating you can walk the shops of downtown Woodstock. The food is great and the wait staff is very friendly and great. The managers will walk around and ask you how your food is and how you are. The music is always great and always new. read more
