    Crab risotto

We were in Woodstock for the 10,000 Maniacs concert and planned to eat at the Salt Factory but the wait was crazy and Reel could seat our group of 7 right away outside. I'm not sure if our waiter was new but he just wasn't on top of it. We never got checked on once we received our food and it took FOREVER to get our checks. He said he couldn't find the little books the checks go in, but that was really not necessary especially since we told him we were in a hurry. We wanted to put two checks on one card for the birthday girl and that confused the heck out of him. It's also a pet peeve of mine when dirty dishes aren't cleared from the table. Two people ordered the fish tacos. They said they were decent, but a little bland. One said her tortillas were way over-charred. Two ordered the salmon blt. One asked for the bacon on the side and they both came that way, which is not a problem just kind of weird. They said the sandwich was good but not wow. They subbed asparagus for their side and it was served very cold. One order the Caesar salad for her meal and it was tiny! When the waiter finally came with our checks it turned out that he put it in as a side salad not an entree. If you thought all someone ordered was a side salad, wouldn't you double check that? She was so hungry after and since he never checked on us we had no one to ask. Two of us ordered the crab risotto. It was pretty yummy but a little one note. There was a ton of parmesan on top and a decent amount of asparagus and corn. It was hard to tell how much crab was really in it since it blended in with the risotto (and for the cost I assumed there wouldn't be much crab). Super random but the water in the women's restroom was SCALDING, like shockingly hot!!

Great food, great ambiance, great location. The mussels were absolutely delicious. Don't question it, just go!

Tried the swordfish and asked the Chef David for the special. Fish and chips are excellent.. Salman is also excellent.. The food is consistently great.. Chef David perfects every single dish I've ever ate here. We come weekly. It's not that good. Definitely five stars come hungry, leave happy!

Let me start by saying two things: -the food was PERFECT. -I have quadruple loved one of the owners, Karen since meeting her when I worked at a local business in 2022. Since that time I have been meaning to give Reel a try. Karen greeted me warmly and it was really really great to see her. Such an awesome person. She made sure we were seated promptly and it was appreciated since I had been going since 5 AM and had not eaten. I asked for bread for the table and though I get the impression that's not the norm, we were indeed eventually served some pretty delicious bread. The reason I am pretty sure bread is not the norm is because It showed as a gratis on the check and I do appreciate that we were not charged for it. The dining room was busy and lively. The game was on. There's an ample bar there but I was too tired to try any of the adult beverages. Next time. We were celebrating my grandsons turning 12 today (a pre party dinner since his party is later in the week). The birthday boy wanted seafood, our friends were in the area so it was just perfect. I had heard great things about the Chef's artistry & talent here. We were a party of 8, with 3 tweens and five adults. I know that can be overwhelming for some. Our waiter was nice enough and It actually pains me to not give my dining experience here five stars especially since the meals were ALL cooked to perfection, but the lackluster service stole a star and made it a great meal versus a wonderful experience. We did our best to be gracious, we unfortunately could not leave a more generous tip than the 18% meh tip. I did a lot of offloading of dirties on my end of the table and the other end stayed pretty cluttered all the way through the meal. Enough of the not so great part. Our server was pretty tolerant of us, and we did have some food allergy concerns and they were patiently addressed, and one of our tweens wasn't the most polite but kids will sometimes be kids, and most adults get it. Not all and I get that. To the great parts! Here's what we had: lobster Mac and cheeses (slamming) regular Mac and cheese (comforting, creamy, perfect pasta, plain ole yummy), gumbo (spicy in real life- no pun intended), salmon (cooked to PERFECTION & explained perfectly by our server), octopus (enjoyable & a delicate & pretty plate up), scallop risottos (simply delicious and both were devoured in entirety), seared scallops (added to the perfectly cooked salmon dish and thoroughly enjoyed), swordfish (no feedback but it was eaten pretty earnestly minus the mushrooms, so either my friend didn't read the selection fully on the menu, or the ingredients didn't mention them- UNSURE here), and I believe a fish and chips for one of the lil ones but not 100% sure of that either. Could have been chicken fingers. The fries were shoestring and looked good and it was a generous portion of potatoes. DESSERTS WERE AH-MAZE-ZING. The kids had regular vanilla ice cream, the adults shared a bread pudding (go here just for this, brioche bread in a bourbon something or other, OFF THE CHAIN GOOD, thank me later) and a heathbar cheesecake that tasted as good as mine which is no small feat. The waiter kindly got all of the cheesecake toppings on the side for us due to allergies and I could tell the line was patient about the ask. I did greatly appreciate that. So we had cream, berries, chocolate and caramel on the side. That was groovy. Would have LOVED if my grandson had gotten a lil candle in his ice cream, especially since seeing a cupcake being delivered to another table with candles in it but hey - at that point we were all just focused on the food being great. What can I say- I will DEFINITELY be back for the food and I pray the meal and dining experience are both five star when I do so!!

This is a cute place in downtown Woodstock. They had it decorated for the holidays... it was cute. Our waiter was great. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. He was able to give us good suggestions. Now on to the food. The blackened redfish was good but overly blackened for my taste but my boyfriend liked it. The mashed potatoes and truffle corn was on point!! My boyfriend had the risotto and it was nice and creamy. Be sure you like the blue crab flavor before ordering this. Then we finished it off with bread pudding. This was one of the best bread pudding I've had. The fresh strawberries were it. Overall, a good experience.

Oysters were amazing, food and wine selection was very nice our server Zander Xavier Livingston was amazing, probably one of the best server experiences I've had (I am also a restaurant server) very attentive and fun, also gave me a gift card that I unfortunately forgot at the restaurant as consequence of how much I enjoyed the wine

First and foremost - Stephon was the kindest, most thoughtful server we could have possibly had for our lunch reservation. The ambiance of this restaurant is like a harbor bar where all the locals meet up. It's located in the middle of the Main St downtown area and it's a really nice area. The food was delicious - if you can, get the seafood gumbo. It is the closest gumbo to New Orleans I've ever had in Georgia. The burger is juicy and flavorful. The fried oysters were plump and fresh. The shrimp were well fried and not greasy. They were on the smaller side, but that's alright. We also ordered a lemon drop martini that was the perfect temperature for the warm day. I am definitely coming back - and hoping Stephon is there for us too!

We hand a wonderful meal celebrating birthday. Zander did an outstanding job taking care of us. We started with outstanding oysters, leading to excellent Tuna and blackened red fish. Finished off with great crème brûlée. Everything was outstanding. The ambiance is nice for a quiet evening and also capable of larger groups. Wonderful evening

We were a party of five, two couples and one five year old on a Thursday night. Food and service were both great. Started with appetizer of steamed mussels that were tender and broth was worthy of dipping all the bread in. The fried calamari was lightly fried, cooked just right and bits of jalapeno with a nice touch of heat. For the entrees, I had the Clams Tagliatellli, nice light garlic wine sauce with a touch of chorizo, wife had a the pan roasted trout. The five year old had a nice portion of real mac & cheese that was adult worthy. The other couple enjoyed their shrimp & grits and chili glazed swordfish and both looked very nice. In busy downtown Woodstock this is a good choice that never seems too crowded but delivers very good fresh seafood dinners.

We happened to stop here by chance and sure are glad we did! You are greeted with a friendly smile upon entry. We were seated with Livie and she was a sweatheart! Thankfully it was happy hour so we tried a few apps of that menu..... fyi only $10 a piece. We had the fish tacos grilled, smoked salmon, mussels, and shrimp cocktail. All were tasty and fresh! Their draught beer goes well and is nice and chilled. For dessert a must try is their creme brulee...... it is amazing and served with fresh berries and a chocolate truffle.

Any private dining room? Looking to accommodate 10+ppl? Thanks.

They do have a room in the back that can be simi-private with a curtain, and I do think it can hold 10 people. It is not 100% private though, such as a walled room.

Is this place really as good as they say?

Yes it is. I'm not a foodie, but I do have pretty strong feelings on restaurant meals - this one is really good!

B&B got their hooks in us! Husband was craving a burger, I wasn't really wanting anything specific; we just didn't want to go major chain. Keep them dollars local, y'know? Help a real person. Anyhoo, I did a quick search and asked if he wanted to try B&B again. Thank goodness he agreed, y'all. My only gripe with B&B is their parking lot. It rivals Trader Joe's for impracticality. So take your compact car! They had the corn hole stowed but heaters were blazing and there were people dining on the patio when we walked in. Better ye than me, folks! We were seated immediately and then we met our delightful server... Early server spotlight for Owen. Such nice energy for a gloomy Wednesday evening, really upbeat without being annoying, the perfect level of attentive. Go when he's there and reward his awesomeness as well! Okay, I decided this afternoon that I wanted a li'l blue plate special for dinner. And Husband wanted a burger. He got a spicy smash burger, the actual name escapes me. Spicy & smashed, she was! There was a good amount of heat from the pickled jalapeños so he took a few off. His recommendation is that they go for a smattering of the diced variety instead. (I've created a monster!!!) He was also very happy with his battered fries. Unless I'm misremembering, they remind me of A&W fries; not as seasoned or as battered as Checkers, but so good. What did I get? You're sweet to ask! I did three sides: garlic green beans, fried Brussels and fried okra. Yes, yes, and yes. They are so wild, I think all three were fresh! Can you even?! You know exactly what I'm talking about when I say frozen fried okra has a taste. If this was frozen ever, they need to patent that technology. The garlic green beans were giving Chinese food but better. Really balanced seasoning, good crispness, flavor. Green, if you can imagine! And the Brussels sprouts... With bacon and sauce... Those leftovers will hate to see me coming. "Leftovers?" I sense you ask incredulously. Yes. Because while perusing the menu online, I saw a nice, big picture of their Butter Toffee Cake. And I was instantly imbued with the knowledge that this cake would heal all my past traumas, pay off my student loans, and give me winning lottery numbers. Only time will tell on all counts. But if you order one thing at that restaurant, I demand it be that cake. The person handling those cakes went to the Hogwarts' Academy of Culinary Wizardry. I can hardly describe it and I have no idea what flavor ice cream is on top except it's the best one. If you like food, but especially butterscotch, or not - you need this cake. I blacked out after that and woke up here on Yelp, so... Please go try that cake.

I would've loved to indulge, but my friends were not so inclined towards raw oysters. We enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp and the blue crab fritters as appetizers. Both had phenomenal flavor, but the portions left a bit to be desired. For my main course, I tried the low country boil as I always love to see an elevated take on a messy classic. The spices were a bit underwhelming for my liking, but everything was cooked very well. I tried some of my friend's redfish, and it was clearly the star of the show. There was a wonderful textural balance between the soft pillowiness of the fish and the crispy exterior. The downside for me was the service. We had a difficult time tracking down our server, and when we alerted another member of the staff that we needed something, there was no attempt to resolve the issue expeditiously. We had to wait another 10 minutes before flagging down our original server. We were dining close to the lunch/dinner shift, so I'm willing to give them the grace that it was a fluke and not a habit. I would love to give Roberto's another try someday, the menu has a great variety, and the ambiance is hard to compete with.
