This was our first time to The Three Roses. We've heard a lot about this restaurant with the great food , service and atmosphere. They certainly didn't disappoint. We had a party five celebrating our daughters birthday and all had different meals and they were all great. The appetizers are first rate and the service is exceptional. Our server Josh was awesome, very informative , very friendly, extremely attentive, efficient and professional. Just a pleasure. We used to be regulars, and then we stopped going. The food isn't bad and for Canton the restaurant menu fits in nicely. So why 3 stars? It's the drink prices. No one in town charges more for a beer than this place. For example, I enjoy local IPAs and Creature Comforts (Athens) is everywhere. I can go to several other stops in town and pay less for a 16 oz can or pour of this beer. Compared to another decent stop down the street, three roses is almost 30% more. My wife says one of the wines she likes is a little less than other stops, so that's good. But other drink prices tend to be on the high side as well, but most in town have higher liquor prices. That adds up if you like to frequent a place. Hence, we stopped frequenting. Overall, I like the decor and as noted, the food is decent. The upstairs is better than the downstairs but I'm glad they have the downstairs for some occasion when they could get busy. As for the Tavern / entertainment element, I've never seen any live music but they have several TVs. Not sure this would be my top choice to watch a game but it would work in a pinch if the other places were too busy or noisy. read more

A narrow restaurant that belies its seating capacity. There is a stairway near the entrance that leads down to another dining area. I sat on the main level which had mostly booths (for 4 & 2 persons), half booths, bar seats, and a few tables. The interior was classy, but the ambiance was not. The mood was ruined by whiny acoustic music, probably picked by the staff and not for the customers. I can normally tune it out, but the uncharacteristic F*bombs coming from the speakers were a mood killer. And while waiting for my meal I heard the following exchange from the kitchen: "Your late!" "Are you going to fire me? Please send me home!" The hostile attitudes in the kitchen was unfortunately reflected in the meal. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fries were nicely cooked. The crust on the fish also looked good. But the fish inside was watery and unpleasant. It was also topped with a mass of cilantro sprigs, which did not pair with the flavors. I managed to scrape them all off. The fish was served with vinegar, ketchup, and (missing) tartar sauce. The friendly and attentive waitress was quick to correct the missing sauce, although it did take awhile. My meal also came with a side of slaw that would have been outstanding if the kitchen hadn't made a misstep of loading it with too much salt. The other seasonings in the slaw were excellent and unique and the addition of red onions was great, but sadly ruined by the saltiness. At the end of my meal I visited their modern and stylish restrooms. I'd arrived just after 5PM and on this weekday there were only a few patrons. So the stylish furnishing of the restroom were marred by the mess I encountered in there. Based on the number of employees compared to patrons, there wasn't an excuse for not cleaning that bathroom. I've seen truckstop restrooms that weren't that nasty. read more

We've been wanting to try this place since it opened. The atmosphere is quaint and trendy. The staff were friendly but not super outgoing. We had the spinach dip appetizer and it was really good. But it wasn't great from there on. I ordered the chicken tender platter and they were just frozen tenders from any grocery store. Very disappointing. My wife had the fried fish sandwich and the bun was twice the size of the piece of fish. Underwhelming. With so many choices in downtown Canton this will not be one of our regulars for sure. read more

I so wanted to love this location of Three Roses Tavern. The Marietta location set the tone and so I had high expectations. The decor is modern but not sterile. I love that they kept the photos of old Canton. It wasn't very busy and the hostess approached us quickly. It was a pretty underwhelming experience though: no welcome or smile like at the Marietta location. How do hosts/hostesses not understand they set the mood for the diners experience? We were sat in a booth in the back, near the bar. A SuperTri was playing on the tv which was fun to watch between conversations. My husband ordered the gyro sans onion and although the display was appealing, it was pretty basic. A Fried Green Tomato BLT is one of my favorite sandwiches. It was pretty but I couldn't find or taste any bacon. The tomatoes were chewy and stringy. One shouldn't have to work that hard to eat a tomato. Ugh. The fries, however, were delicious- not soggy served in a cute fry basket. Yum! Bobby, our server, was attentive, friendly, and very understanding. He's a keeper! We may try this again but for a fried green tomato BLT, I'll head to 61Main in Jasper. Perhaps when Three Roses Tavern's health score comes back up, I'll give it another go. read more

I've been anxiously awaiting the opening of Three Roses Tavern for quite some time. Seems like there was some red tape they had to work through but it was definitely worth the wait. A very nice vibe with a smart decor. This sports/gastro tavern offers some tasty apps and menu items. The gyro wrap was loaded with fresh veggies and tender gyro meat and plenty of it. Right down to the delicious tzatziki sauce. The clam chowder was also done very well. I was impressed with the server as he was already very knowledgeable about the menu and his attentiveness was on point. I didn't make it downstairs but on the weekends they have live music. No worries, I'll be returning to check it out. A very nice experience for only being opened a couple days. Congratulations Three Roses, it looks like you're on your way to a successful business. Feels like...a quiet and classy big city neighborhood diner. Nestle yourself into the comfy booths or welcoming tables for larger parties. Menu has just enough appealing offerings. Service is welcoming and well-paced. Big screen tvs allow game viewing from many angles. Start to finish, Three Roses is a winner! read more

Very disappointed in the pop up bar setup. They really made the photos on Instagram look good. This was an Elf pop up and they weren't even playing the movie on the big screen. All decor was right as you come in with very little in the actual restaurant. The food was horrible and the mixed drinks weren't any better. A hamburger made with a cheap frozen patty, a steak that my husband said was "okay", 2 mixed drinks and 2 waters was over $100.00. Lesson learned. Elf is one of my favorite holiday movies so I was extremely disappointed. read more

Cozy rear bar area with a smaller bar in a lounge-like atmosphere with a HUGE TV on the back wall above a few sizable booths (and a few other smaller TVs to watch sports), but even more expensive than recently opened Downtown Canton restaurants. I'm sorry, but charging $7 for a 16 oz. Michelob Ultra is wild to me. If you pay those prices that's on you, but if so, expect to continue to pay similar inflated prices if/when new restaurants pop up. read more

Upscale sports bar! The vibe is cool but they mix it with a sports bar so that's kinda weird. I felt like I was on a cruise ship for some reason. The place is super cute and they have a downstairs. Nice Bar! I'm not a TV Lover when I eat out but if that's your thing, they have it! We were greeted right away but the hostess seemed confused by Who's section was next and come To find out she was our server! She seemed pretty new but when asked what their seasonal DARk beer was, she was able to answer it. That was a super plus for my husband. We decided to order a salad to split, and it came out with some weird pickle relish on it, which I didn't find I liked at all. They were nice enough to take it back and put that on the side and bring me a new salad. we also ended up splitting the burger with fries, which are very good. The burger is totally big enough to split. They were going to charge us a split charge, but since we ordered drinks salad and dessert, they didn't charge us for that. That could've been a negative for sure. I ended up getting a martini which was delicious and my husband enjoyed the dark seasonal beer. The burger was great. We even got the beignets for dessert which were quite tasty. We were surprised by how cute the place was (no more sandwich shop, love the decor) and we're glad that they're an addition to the downtown Canton area. We look forward to supporting local and returning to try more of their good options on their menu. The table service was SPOT ON, they filled your water and kept the table super clean! We went in on a Saturday evening around 7. We were sat quickly. Waited for over 5 minutes for a server to visit our table. He was super nice and gave suggestions on meals when we asked. My husband had the BLT sandwich with fries. While the bread was fresh it was too much with the meal. For the second half of the sandwich, he removed the top bun and it was way more flavorful. I ordered the chow-chow burger with fries. It was a good burger...comparable to a burger you would find in any sit down restaurant. The fries were yummy. We each ordered a drink, and our total with tip was $80+. In our opinion the meal was overpriced for two sandwiches. This was our second time to give Three Roses a try...neither of them impressed us! There are other great food options in Canton that we will visit first before returning. read more

The waiter James was awesome. The food and drinks were great. There was a park concert going on in front of the restaurant so parking was almost nonexistent. They closed streets and lanes down going into the small area but, when we got inside the restaurant we couldn't hear the load music outside which was a plus. While the ambience and service at this restaurant were both truly excellent--the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer--the food unfortunately didn't live up to the setting. Every dish we tried was just okay: nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. The flavors were flat, and we found ourselves wanting just a little more from each plate. The overall execution suggested a lack of culinary training in the kitchen. Sauces were imbalanced or oddly flavored, and the vegetables--across multiple dishes--were noticeably overcooked, losing both texture and vibrancy. One issue may be the menu itself, which tries to cover too many bases. With so many different styles of cuisine represented, the result feels more scattered than inspired. Instead of doing one thing really well, the kitchen seems stretched too thin across too many ideas. That said, the staff was attentive and warm, and the space is beautiful--perfect for date night drinks. I just wish the food had matched the energy of everything else. read more

We have been here twice now and have not been impressed. I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and felt like I was just eating a loaf of bread with salad. The second time we went I ordered the fish and chips based off the waitresses recommendation. What a great restaurant, the atmosphere and food was amazing! We ordered a bunch of appetizers and shared the many main dishes. gotta say everything was spectacular, the fish and chips were delicious as well as the shrimp and burger. I couldn't get enough of the spinach dip ang good night the cheeses curds were insane!!!! Great prices and NOT NY City prices like the rest of Downtown Canton and Downtown Woodstock! Decor and service were A+. We ordered the fish n chips that were spot on. We were in a party of 4 having casual conversations and a few laughs. To our surprise we were told, not asked, by the manager that we needed to leave immediately. No warning, no explanation. If this was a 'fine dining' restaurant I would understand if management asked us to lower our volume but it's a tavern! A simple request from management would have resolved any issues. This is not a staffing issue, this is management/ownership issue. This was our first visit and first time any of our party has been evicted from a restaurant/tavern and we are 50+ years old. There are many other quality establishments in this area that we will still frequent. However, we will not be back to Three Roses they do not deserve our business!! read more

We've been trying to get by since 3 Roses opened three weeks ago. We were not disappointed! We were seated near the bar and served by Rise. We asked for suggestions and he gave us several options. I had the chicken over mashed potatoes. My husband had the Cajun Shrimp/sausage pasta dish. Both dishes were seasoned perfectly. I could cut my chicken filet with a fork. They were served promptly and steaming hot. We can't wait to return and try out additional entrees. The decor is beautiful. I was a bit surprised, expecting more of a sports bar atmosphere. It definitely says "upscale" dining. Rise was just the right amount of attentive. We highly recommend 3 Roses. Downtown Canton has another gem! read more
