Over 5 years this place has grown bigger, the food has been a roller coaster ride with highs and lows. But after couple of months of trying their food and contemplating if it should get 3 or 4 star...I am going to keep it to 4 star. The dosas are still good but the key is to go early on weekends else the large crowds can cause some jumbked orders, soggy dosas...i do feel the dosas can definitely be crispier but they taste good. The spice levels have definitely gone down over years. But the chutney and sambar quality is great. My Usual order usually has few of the following Masal vadai Podi idly Ghee podi dosa Rava onion dosa Mysore plain dosa Plan dosa If for dinner, chicken kotthu parotta Curries are decent too...but go for the dosas in dosa place please...! We had eaten at Madras Dosa Corner when they first opened, we weren't impressed with the food and didn't return until recently. We were in Issaquah and decided to give the place another chance and were surprised. We ordered Mysore masala dosa, goat curry, and MDC special goat biryani (day's special). The Mysore masala dosa was good, also liked a couple of the chutneys the dosa comes with, not all of them. The goat curry, and special biryani were good. We were back there for dinner last night, this time we got Goat Kheema dosa, Goat kothu parota, and MDC special ambur biryani. I liked the Goat kheema dosa, it comes with salna instead of chutney and sambar. The salna wasn't great. We liked the kothu parota and ambur biryani. We arrived early on a weekday around 5:30pm. I notice from other reviews that this restaurant gets busy and I did see that the restaurant started getting full around 6pm. I really enjoyed the food and the mango lassi was great as well. Perhaps my suggestion would be to get there early to not have to wait for a table. read more

And definitely not worth the really slow and bad service. Food takes a long time to arrive and the waiters just ignore you. You can try to make eye contact and wave your hands they won't bother. We asked for extra chutney twice and they did not give it to us. The good items here are: Medu Vada, Mysore Masala Dosa, Ghee Podi Masala Dosa & Masala Chai. This is one of our most frequented restaurants. Proximity to our home helps, but the biggest motivation is the amazing food. The preparation is very authentic. Menu is extensive, lots of options. It would take multiple visits to try everything on the menu. The most stellar item is the podi idli. You will not get anything like that at other restaurants in the Seattle area. It's the perfect combination of spices and well cooked in ghee. Pure delight. The ghee paper roast dosas are brilliant as well. Oothapams are excellent, with the perfect amount of vegetable toppings and the crisp bottom. Special mention to the buttermilk, very flavorful and refreshing. Also need to commend the dedication of the staff. We had a minor mishap today with some confusion in the order, and their staff and management went out of their way to apologize and makeup for the minor mistake. This restaurant is a reviewer's nightmare. Great food but incompetent management and service. Fiascos such as writing down who is in line on paper, but messing the sequence up, multiple people taking orders, waiter coming to table with a random dish that you didn't order but checking if you did, sub-par toilet maintenance etc is getting old! As a jarring contradiction, the food was outstanding. Amongst us, we had vada as appetizer, rava masala dosa. Ghee dosa, parotta korma, mango lassie and filter coffee. They were all to the point, with the accompaniments of coconut chutney and sambar being spectacular. We tried: - Chicken 65, 5/5: Crispy, flavorful, and just spicy enough. So addicting! - Kari Dosa with Goat, 4.5/5: Delicious. Unlike a regular cripsy dosa, the base was a thicker almost pancake-like oothappam, and then it was topped with egg and boneless shredded goat. It was served with salna which was a tomato-based masala gravy, perfect for pairing with this dosa. - Chettinad Chicken Curry with basmati rice, 4/5: Had some nice heat to it, very flavorful, came with nice amount of chicken. FYI it says boneless chicken in their online ordering system, but the dish came with bone-in chicken. It was easy to order online from them for takeout, and they're also available for delivery and limited dine-in as of March 2021. The service and food is above average. The service takes around 20 minutes and the dosa is Tamil style. It's one of the best you will find in Seattle if this is the kind of dosa you prefer. Food was great but they don't treat customers right. The attitude of the staff is not warm. I wouldn't dine here once more. The food was delayed beyond any reasonable limits. To top it all off, my friend's coffee came with an empty sugar packet at the bottom. It was gross! During a weekday lunch with my coworkers, I had a wonderful opportunity to expand my palate here at Madras Dosa Corner (MDC) since I'm not extremely familiar with South Indian cuisine. Once I noticed that they offered a Lunch Special Thali Plate (weekdays only), I didn't need to look any further. The elaborate plating and appearance of a Thali has always intrigued me as it's a true sampler of delicacies. Here, they offer both a vegetarian and non-vegetarian option to fit everyone's tastes. Besides Roti bread, crispy Papad and rice, it included 11 other items with a majority of them being completely foreign to my palate. At only $11, this meal is an excellent bargain - just be sure to come hungry! It's such a large portion of food, that I even spotted two people splitting one Thali! The idea behind a Thali is to represent each flavor profile - sweet, salty, bitter, spicy, sour - and MDC definitely achieved just that. I absolutely loved the Chicken 65 (juicy pieces of fried chicken covered in a spicy seasoning), and the savory Channa Masala. Among the other offerings, I found the chicken curry and a lentil curry to pack a fiery heat, while a yellow vegetable curry tasted lightly of coconut milk had hints of milder spices. The Thali also included a Tamarind broth which had a sour tang to it, and a sweet carrot-based dessert. Everything was aromatic and I was pleased with the variety and depth of flavors on the platter. To top off your meal, they include a homemade yogurt to cool down your palate and aid in the digestion process. As much as I enjoyed most items within the Thali, I couldn't manage to finish the entire serving in one sitting and took the rest to-go. The waitstaff graciously provided me with several little containers to neatly pack everything away. Overall, from the minute we stepped in the restaurant, the staff was welcoming and ensured we were pleased with our meals. First Ordered chocolate dosa for my kid..expected a thin dosa with chocolate smeared inside like chutney...Instead got a thick uthappam type dosa with half-melted kisses (chocolates) sprinkled over and flowing liquid chocolate as if the chef made the dosa while having a flight to catch.. Next came the Kadai paneer..which came literaly after 20-25 minutes. One of the blandest kadai paneer I had tasted as I was eating from road stand ...and the accompanying rice felt even more crappy -- forget about basmati, it was sona masuri not cooked with right amount of water. In an attempt to correct my taste then i ordered ghee dosa, which was finally fine. So , realized one thing...if you have a restaurant by a special dish name that pertains to a specific community (in this case South india), do not expect the chef to be good in other community(north) food as well. Added to this distaste, not sure why the guy giving the bill couldnt even smile. And I thought everyone at least smiles when about the get the money. So not great service either i would say. I am rating this 4-star and not 5-star simply because of the the service. The food deserves beyond 5 stars!! This place reminds me of Saravana Bhavan in New York. The south indian food is authentic and i find their sambhar to be the best ever! My go-to-dish is the idli vadai dipped in sambhar and the rava onion masala dosa! Their service can be better as they will often mess up with the order or take a while to get your order sometimes. My friend and I were visiting Issaquah for the weekend and stayed at a hotel nearby. We decided to eat at Madras Dosa Corner because many of the other restaurants within walking distance had closed already. Plus, I haven't had South Indian food in the longest time. We ordered the egg dosa and the vegetable chettinad curry. The egg dosa came out incredibly crispy and thin, with a thin layer of egg on top along with various chutneys. The curry came with rice on the side. Both items were flavorful, though I especially loved the vegetable chettinad! It was full of delicious spices mixed with a vegetable medley of carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, and zucchini. We had a delicious meal, but I took 1 star off for service and price. The serving was a bit small for the price compared to other Indian restaurants in Seattle. The service was both rushed and slow at the same time if that makes sense? The person behind the counter rushed us into the restaurant and urgently placed us at our table, but then took forever to take our order and give us our checks. We had to stand up to get his attention, and other people who came in after us were served before us. Overall, the food is worth a try if you've never had a dosa before (or if you haven't were craving one as I was).
