She's great at making you feel like you are sooo lucky to have her as a photographer. She charges $5700 for an engagement photo shoot, 8 hours of photography on day of with 2 shooters (herself and a friend). We were traveling from out of town for the engagement photos. It took multiple emails (like 5) to get her to respond to a date that could work for us so that we could buy our flights. Our engagement photos weren't great. She tends to shoot from below, which wasn't the best angle for my husband or me. There's very little direction from her (I.e. put your hand on his chest). She does do a good job of feeling like the photos she's taking are fabulous during the shoot. On the day of, she likes to claim that she "takes charge" which I thought I'd like. She's not lying, she takes charge but doesn't pay attention to the schedule. She made me 30 min late to my own wedding bc she was taking pics and not paying attention to the time. My family actually said they thought I was getting cold feet. I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt but we finally got our photos over 3 months after the wedding. I cried when I got them, and not for a good reason. The photos are terrible. They're unedited.....there's trash in the background of my bridal portraits that she chose to not edit out. She put a filter on all of them but it just washes us out. I do not have a single one of my mom and me that's in focus. She took a million of my husband and me but I can't find one that I like. It is truly disappointing. I don't have a single photo from cocktail hour, no photos of our signature cocktail signs, no photos of our beverage napkins. It's like she was just shooting random things that aren't in focus. To top it off, multiple people came up to me and asked who my photographer was bc she was so crabby during the day. I will be asking her to edit our photos...tbd. I would never recommend Mishelle.

I don't think it's always been this way with Mishelle but I believe the quality of service/work has gone downhill and it should be noted for the prices being paid. Non responsive up until wedding day and multiple ignored messages. When we did talk I could barely get a word in or share our vision. Showing up late/distracted on wedding day. Didn't get many of the family portraits that were outlined, odd angles/lighting/bad editing/blurriness in photos that doesn't seem normal for a 15+ year experience photographer. While I will say there are some good photos, overall we were disappointed in our experience and the delivered work for the amount paid. There are many many anecdotes I could share that reflect our experience but overall, the day and 'edited' images reflected a lack of passion, care, or attention to detail. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but for a once in a lifetime event, the photographer experience is very important and unfortunately Mishelle missed the mark.

I met Rosy through a friend and when I was looking for amazing photographers for my daughter's 1st birthday, our mutual friend recommended her. I booked the shoot during a blizzard but Rosy was there and excited to do our shoot. Her studio gives off a fun, retro vibe and exudes Rosy's crisp, clean photography style. My daughter was TERRIBLE during this 30 minute shoot. I thought the pictures would come out blurry due to her all-out craziness but when I got the proofs I was blown away. Rosy not only managed to capture beautiful pictures of my baby girl, but pictures that capture her personality. I don't know how she worked her magic to get these amazing shots but she moved around with my daughter and honored the craziness that comes with a toddler, which I was so grateful for. I have most recently done a family photo shoot that also included a few engagement pictures at the DIA. Rosy knew exactly what style I was going for and knew where to take us to get the best shots. We now have a 1 year old and a 4 year old but she again managed to snap the perfect shots between toddler melt downs and run offs. We selected one of the hottest and humid days of May but our pictures are nothing short of magazine worthy and again, capture our family's personality and bond. She is simply amazing at what she does and adds a sense of calmness that is appreciated when you are preoccupied with perfectly capturing your most important life moments.

With my fiance living several thousand miles away, we had set up a week and a half of all-wedding madness with appointments around the clock including one with Silver Lights Studio who had been recommended to us by some friends. Setting up the appointment was easy. Rosy and Shaun are located quite a while away from us in Allen Park but we arrived to a cute studio with vintage touches and bright accents - it's a happy place. We discussed our needs, our expectations, pricing and everything included in their packages. I'll be the first one admit that I am not an easy person to please but impressing my Dad is even more than a challenge. He's extremely quiet and doesn't seem to express his opinion but he liked their drive and their creativity, the brightness of the colors and their all around-fun attitude. Their albums are of high quality, their hourly rates are fair and they're okay with shooting outside of their 'quirky fun' style - they're flexible and open to ideas. After weighing our options, we signed on the dotted line. We took our engagement photos with them a few weeks ago at the DIA which is of particular interest to me. We took photos outside and inside and both Rosy and Shaun came along with plenty of ideas for our shoot (which we were happy to give a 'yay' or 'nay' to) and the open-mindedness to take a few photos in areas we had in mind (like in front of the Diego Rivera mural which is a personal favorite of mine). Although we were somewhat stiff at times they made us feel relaxed and open and we ended up having a lot of fun. They're a new studio and always so busy with clients but they take the time to address my concerns, answer my questions and take notes on my ideas even though my wedding is next year. The booking process was super smooth; we got to chat with her via Skype (as we were out of state) and work through all the little details. She really listened to what we were hoping to get out of the experience and worked with us to create a plan that fit us. We checked in with her in person a few days before the wedding to make sure all the details were set, timings were correct and to go over paper choices. I love speaking with Amanda because she is so professional and obviously a top notch photographer - but talking with her just puts you at ease.
