Vui's has been on my Nashville restaurant bucket list for years and I was so excited to finally be able to try it. After much deliberation (there were so many enticing items on the menu!), I ordered the Vui's Bowl with noodles and tofu. The dish was spectacular -- each bite was packed with flavor, thanks to the mildly spicy chile lime dressing. It paired well with the pickled daikon, fresh mint and cilantro. The crushed peanuts and fried shallots added a slight crunch to each bite. The green leaf spring mix was fresh, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The serving size was just right for lunch. That, plus the cost for their pho is more or less on par with many other places, but their bowls, and thus the serving you get is literally half the size of every other place I've been. Perhaps an imperfect analogy would be something like this place is to Vietnamese food what Taco Bell is to Mexican food. Most people have never had a meal in Mexico made by a Mexican grandma, so as far as they know it's great. Coming from SoCal where the Asian food scene is top-tier (in my humble opinion), Vui's Kitchen didn't exactly hit the spot. During my trip to the South, I was in need of some comfort food. In my book, that would be a hot bowl of pho. Scouring Yelp, there weren't too many Vietnamese food options in Nashville. Vui's Kitchen is arguably the most prominent one. Taking a chance on them, I ordered the Beef Pho. It was... interesting. It definitely had the spirit, but didn't deliver. Noodles were great. Loved the amount of veggie toppings they provided. Broth was meh- it didn't quite achieve the depth of flavors or have the same fragrance as a solid bowl of pho. The beef was something else... Basic meats featured in pho are usually either thit thai (rare beef) or thit chin (well-done meat). Sometimes people will get fancy with it and do filet mignon. However, Vui's uses strange stringy, chewy beef strips. I don't even know what that was, but it wasn't good. Overall, a very underwhelming bowl of pho. Outside, they have larger tables and some picnic style tables that are perfect for gatherings when the weather is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Normally, I go for the Pho (which is always amazing - regardless of the type of meat, and the broth is decadent), but this time I decided to try something new and went with the Salad Bowl with noodles, cremini mushrooms, and chicken. The chili lime dressing was so flavorful and brought all together. For a salad of sorts it was very satisfying. I love that they offer a healthier alternatives to soda and carbonated water!! We have eaten at another location and enjoyed it, so this time we tried a different location. Everything was good, but had some things I'd wanna change. I love bahn Mi with pork meatloaf, so I was a little disappointed that the only pork option was pork belly. They were 3 large strips, so it was hard to keep everything in one bite. The toppings and everything were great still though. I loved the steamed dumplings. The chili oil was just the right amount of spice. The above bun was too greasy this time. The pho broth is flavorful and the vegetables are fresh. The bowl has the most exquisite grilled shrimp. My only small criticism is the drink selection: no Coke OR Pepsi products. There is both indoor and outdoor which I love and sitting outside with my pho on a cloudy day is the perfect combo. Vui's is such a go-to for me. It's delicious, pretty healthy, not unreasonably priced, and gives a good sized meal. They're also always SO quick to get your order out. I've done everything from dine-in, to takeout, to delivery at Vui's, and it always hits. I will HIGHLY recommend their vermicelli noodle bowl with chicken (the chicken is so flavorful, there are a ton of veggies, and the peanuts and crispy onions add a perfect crunch), and I usually ask for the soy-lime dressing instead of the chile-lime dressing. But both are good! Their tofu is also super great and tender and packed full of flavor. Their rice bowl is essentially the same but with rice, and so on. If you don't like spice, ask for the creamy citrus dressing (it's also delicious). They also have great pho! The meals are always big portions, and SUPER fresh and tasty. read more

I tried Vui's while visiting Nashville. It's located inside of a food hall and provides Vietnamese cuisine to go. I ordered a beef pho and tried the coconut pudding. Both were delicious. The pho had a flavorful broth and was exactly what I needed feeling under the weather. The coconut pudding was delightful. A nice, light coconut custard with tapioca pearls topped with chopped peanuts and sesame seeds. It was the perfect sweet treat. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance can't really attribute to Vui's, but the food hall was on par with some of the other newer food halls that are popping up. A lot of different cuisines and options to choose from and the playlist was also cool. There is paid parking in the adjacent lot, but there is also fee street parking directly outside. read more

Great tasting food. I order from here all the time. I'm not a fan of pho or ramen, but I love many of their other offerings. My only complaint? They seem VERY skimpy on protein. I often have to order extra protein (for several additional dollars) and sometimes, not always, even double protein doesn't feel like enough. I get that they use fresh high quality ingredients, but so do other places and I eat enough salads and bowls to recognize a decent amount of protein. Even the tacos seem light on protein. I finally wrote a review for Vui's after years of regularly dining here! Vui's is my go to place because it is only 3 minutes drive from my work and I can order ahead without waiting in line. My favorite is everything pork belly like Banh Mi, Bao Bun, rice bowl, salad bowl with extra pork belly, chili lime sauce and creamy citrus sauce. Sticky wings are good as well. If you like Vietnamese coffee, don't forget to grab some. Vui's is more than a restaurant for me. After a long day at work, I normally come here. The food and the atmosphere in the restaurant comfort me. I had to work on Easter this year and Vui's was the only restaurant around that opened until 9pm! I ate one of the 4, and tossed the other 3. The salad... how can you go wrong with a veggie salad? Between the vegan soy dressing and grilled tofu-- it was all grease. Minimal mint or fresh flavors. Wow. So I came to Nashville for a few doctors appointments and I'm not local to the area. That being said, I saw pho on the menu and was ecstatic. So I got the pho, a taco, and my mother got the orange chicken with fried rice. We decided the best thing we ate was the taco which was incredible! I guess I had the Vui's salad. I asked the guy what he would recommend for a hot day, and what he told me sounded absolutely delish. So I just went with his suggestion and added the seared pork belly along with the Thai shrimp. Oh my goodness, the incredible smells hit me as soon as I was served. Full of delicious fresh veggies and this perfectly tender pork belly, I was in heaven. The hair shrimp was incredible as well, and sat on a bed of very fluffy rice. I loved all of it.
