I have only been seeing Dr. Magaziner for a very few years. I can openly say he saved my life twice. He was the doctor that recognized my heart issue and recommended for me to see a cardiologist right away. The cardiologist sent me to a heart surgeon who, after reviewing the MRI, discovered I had an aortic heart valve that had a severely reduced opening. Normal diameter is 2 cm. Mine was 0.6 cm. The surgeon said I would have only one to two years to live if I did not have open heart surgery to replace the valve. In less than a month I had the valve replaced and I am feeling much better. I am writing this review for Dr Lisa Zimmerman whom I met this year. She is an MD who "went back to school" for integrative medicine. I sought medical care outside of the typical standard of care and the typical constraints that regular doctors have to work and I am glad I did. Dr Zimmerman ran tests that no one else would and she also spent a lot of time with me in order to understand what my issues could be. The results of my tests were enlightening to say the least and I would not have known what to do other than the standard stuff (like antibiotics or immunotherapies) had I not met her. Dr Zimmerman works with you and listens (and appreciates questions as well as you taking the initiative to educate yourself). Great center for evidence-based complimentary medicine. No mumbo-jumbo, and real doctors, not like the many "wellness" centers in the areaThe whole family has gone here, and my husband particularly likes the efficiency and "one-stop" aspect where labs and many diagnostics can be done in-house. Dr. Magaziner is hard to see, as he's so busy, but his entire medical-physician staff is professional and thorough. A down side is that many of the expenses are out-of-pocket. However, with a medical saving program the dent in the wallet is lessened. Real physicians, unlike many of the so-called "health improvement" and "holistic-naturopathic" joints popping up of late. I learned of Dr. Magaziner via Suzanne Somers' books and made a special pilgrimage up the east coast to see him. Previous doctors I visited who prescribed "bio-identical hormones" gave me versions that could have actually increased my risk of cancer. I have been a patient of Dr. magazine her for over 25 years. When I first went to him I was deathly ill with chronic fatigue and so many Allergies that I didn't even know I had. He basically saved my life 25 years ago and if it wasn't for him I would be nonfunctional. In the last year or so as I've gotten older my knees and the rest of my joints have gotten much weaker and are very sore and stiff. So instead of seeking surgery once again I decided to treat with Dr. magazine or as his wellness center is always on the cutting edge. This is my second treatment for my niece and I feel like a young kid again I definitely recommend his treatment over surgery for sure. Dr. Greenberg is better than the majority of doctors I've gone to for my problems, but I'm still not satisfied with the treatment I've received from him. He truly has a gift in his ability to examine a body and know where a patient is feeling pain. However, knowing where someone is feeling pain isn't the same as knowing where something is damaged. After getting multiple PRP treatments by him and having success at the beginning but eventually plateauing, I asked Dr. Greenberg multiple times if ultrasound would show my ligament damage. He told me that it would not show my damage. Eventually, I got tipped off by one of his ex-patients that told me that Dr. Greenberg had hit one of his nerves (I've been told by other prolotherapists that it's easier to not hit nerves if you use guided ultrasound while doing injections), and that he'd started going to someone else and found out that Dr. Greenberg hadn't injected the right place because of where fluid showed on the imaging. That made me decide to get my problems checked with ultrasound. At that appointment, I found out that my obliquus capitis inferior muscle was torn and that Dr. Greenberg hadn't injected it at all. There was also damage in my upper back near my rhomboid muscles, my multifidus was also torn, and in my feet I had tears too (Abductor Hallucis Brevis and Flexor Digitorum Brevis). When I talked to Dr. Greenberg about it, he had no clue that any of my muscles were torn. He told me that just because there was damage there didn't mean that it was the major source of my problems. However, my pain was reduced when the other prolotherapist I saw injected my muscles with Novocain. Then, after only two rounds of PRP injections with this other doctor, my pain in a certain spot on my neck completely disappeared. It is my belief (and the belief of this other doctor) that Dr. Greenberg missed something major because he doesn't use ultrasound. I'm very disappointed in Dr. Greenberg now that I've gotten a second opinion for my problems. He should have told me that it was possible for damage to show on ultrasound instead of calling it useless. That's the major reason I have a problem with his practice. However, he also prescribed me a supplement I shouldn't have been taking because of my food allergies, and he also told me that even if my testosterone was at absolute zero, he wouldn't give me testosterone because I'm female. I know other doctors that understand hormones better than he does, and they wouldn't agree with that statement at all. All that being said, I do think his PRP treatments helped me heal some damage in my connective tissues (though not my muscles), and my pain levels are lower than when I started with him. I also don't have any lasting physical damage from his treatments. read more
