i'm giving CDK 1,000 stars…read more i could never overrate this institution. my family owes them more than we could ever repay. my son was diagnosed with a speech delay, had some gross motor delays and sensory issues when he was 18 months old. from then on he received Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy here. he also qualified to be in their special Good to Grow program, which is an amazing program focused on early intervention for children ages 24 - 36 months, with Downs, Autism and various other special needs. where do i begin. all over the board, i only have good things to say. the therapists here took such detailed care for my son. i was never in doubt that he was in good, expert hands. his group never had more than 10 children, and the ratio of therapist to child was always so high, especially since weekly parent participation was required, there were times when it seemed the ratio was equal in adults to children. the therapists have a weekly meeting to touch base with each other and update the entire staff of progress and needs for each child. thus, whichever therapist my son came in contact with, that therapist was aware of all his needs. when my son started, i wasn't sure how the program would help, or if they could be of help. i really had some doubts. but within three, four, six months, my son improved step by step. these therapists were so on top of my son's case that they were always a step ahead of me. they had suggestions and insight for me before i could even think to ask. CDK/G2G was a godsend. i don't know how we could have overcome all the challenges we faced during my son's second year. he is a completely different tot from the one who began the program in January 2014. when he started he barely spoke five words... today he can talk in 4-word sentences, without having to be prompted. he recently turned three and graduated the program. he no longer needs any Occupational Therapy and i am amazed with how far he has come. he still does require some Speech Therapy, but i am so confident that within a year he will be right where he needs to be. CDK really set him up for success, and not only helped my son, but helped me and my husband with valuable tools and insight. the program requires attendance to a weekly parent meeting, which provided support and tools for parents. the program also provides a monthly home visit by a therapist to address any current challenges. the therapist would always follow up with an email and follow through with any discussed strategies. the therapists here are highly educated, each having at least a master's degree, and some even having doctorates. they are so enthused with what they do, and even more significantly, they ALL care so much for their patients. absolute rockstars and saints. if you have a child with any special needs, please look into CDK. you will be in good, loving hands.

My son attended the summer camp this past month and ended up getting injured. The facility called…read moreme and said he had sustained an abrasion on his back due to a shelf falling onto him, that was pulled down by another child. This is concerning and dangerous. The staff should be paying better attention to the children at the camp, and bookshelves and other shelving should be secured into the walls . This is a huge safety issue, and there should be better systems in place to ensure the safety of the campers, especially as it is a facility for children with developmental disabilities.

I go to this provider for occupational therapy for my hand. I have arthropathy and degenerative…read morejoint disease in my hands, especially my CMC joint and thumb, which cause me a lot of pain, limited mobility, and weakness. This provider specializes in physical and occupational therapy for the hands. I've also had physical therapy through UCLA for my hands, but they really didn't do much of anything other than massage my hand. In contrast, Thera-ex staff made a detailed assessment of my hand and gave me specific exercises for my hand, wrist, and finger joints, including my thumb. I go twice a week and they apply a warm compress, have me do the exercises, apply ultrasound therapy, and give me a massage. These treatments do a lot to relieve my pain, which usually is much diminished for the rest of the day after my appointment. Additionally, all of the assistants, technicians, and providers are extremely professional, warm, communicative, and courteous. In fact, I think this may be the most courteous medical facility of any kind that I have ever frequented, and I have been to A LOT. I have a very complicated medical history and sometimes have up to 10 medical appointments a month. I have 10 different specialists handling my care and frequently since receive referrals to others. I have run into my fair share of hostile, discourteous, and disorganized medical offices. I am happy to say that it is always a pleasure to visit Thera-Ex. I have been there about eight times and have a lot more visits to complete. If you need occupational therapy for your hand, I highly recommend this place.

To start off, I am clearly biased and would give 20 stars if I could. My son has been with Teresa…read moreat SGV Speech for approximately 4 years. When he first attended he was 3yo and nonverbal, showing capacity for speech but not yet using any words. Prior to Teresa we had two other SLPs and the fit and match was never quite right (either with my son nor us as parents). Teresa has been phenomenal from the start - patient, calm, warm, engaging, and incredibly apt in her assessment and interventions with my son. He graduated from speech two months ago and the relationship he built with Teresa is so clear from his fondness of her. He has made tremendous progress, which is evident from going from nonverbal and using sounds to communicate to sentences, correct pronunciation, context, and ongoing conversation. Teresa is knowledgeable, sharp, and creative in the methods she utilizes to engage with my son. Additionally, Rosa (office staff extraordinaire) is so easy to work with and communicative. We have never had issues with scheduling, cancellations, and each visit she is so friendly that my son was disappointed if she wasn't there during a visit. All the staff are generally extremely friendly as we've had some one-off sessions with other providers over the years due to availability. For a very very brief period of time my son also had OT services but the OT therapist left the clinic and they have since stopped taking my insurance for OT. While we are extremely grateful and thankful that my son no longer meets criteria for speech services, we are sad and definitely miss the visits and relationship with Teresa and everyone at SGV speech. Highly highly highly recommend.

My son just graduated out of speech and we are over the moon…read more As I'm writing this, I'm reflecting on the mind blowing progress my son has made in just 3 years with the incredible help of Mrs. Teresa. When we first started here, my son was speech delayed and no one understood the few words he did say. Mrs. Teresa was able to target his problem areas and gave my son the tools he needed to communicate clearly and effectively. Mrs. Teresa is kind, gentle, patient, stern when needed, and truly invested in my son's growth and progress. They worked hard together during sessions, and she always rewarded my son with play time at the end which he appreciated. She always pushed and challenged him -- every session the improvement was undeniable. My son is a better speaker, a more confident communicator, and is able to focus and apply himself so much more now. I have a daughter at a different clinic who has now seen several different therapists, and I truly don't think with them all combined they could do what Mrs. Teresa does. She is an expert in the field and my son and I were truly blessed to work with her! Shout out to Miss Rosa who runs a tight ship! She truly keeps everything running smoothly, handles everything from scheduling to billing to whatever else falls on her lap, and she always does it with a welcoming and warm smile. She's the first and last face we see -- the face of the company. It's bitter sweet to say goodbye. Thank you sooooo much to Mrs. Teresa & Miss Rosa for being a part of our lives for the past 3 years.

Our experience with this therapy provider was incredibly disappointing…read more From the beginning, scheduling was a struggle. It took an unreasonable amount of time to get an appointment, and our stated availability was repeatedly disregarded. When we finally secured a session, we were told the assigned therapist would be out for a week. Shortly after, we learned she had actually left the company entirely. We were then scheduled with Melissa the clinical manager. During that conversation, the provider recommended that the sessions take place at their facility. We clearly declined and explained that we wanted the initial session to occur in our home. After communicating that preference, the appointment was rescheduled. As parents, coordinating therapy appointments requires planning, adjusting work schedules, and arranging childcare. The repeated delays, staff turnover, poor communication, and last-minute scheduling changes showed a complete lack of respect for our time. What should have been a straightforward onboarding process turned into weeks of frustration. If reliability, organization, and communication are important to you, this was not our experience with this provider.

From the first time (evaluation) they were just so easy to work with, they were very clear about how long it would take for the referral process, to starting sessions. i have seen such a great improvement in my sons speech. I appreciate their patience with my son and with every child I have seen walk in . They communicate effectively and frequently to remind you of your appointment date and time. I would absolutely recommend this place they have changed my sons way of communicating and absolutely love all they staff.
