The chicken sandwich was very good ; the time waited for pickup was over twice as long as they originally told me food would be ready !

My first order was taken out. The bar wasn't too busy since it was around 4pm. It's a decent size place that has dine in seating, slot machines and it's not too loud so you can hear who you're talking to. My curds were cooked to perfection. They were the best ones that I've had in a long time. The Ranch Dressing was the perfect pairing for it. I'm definitely going back to try some of the other appetizers. read more

We were visiting and stopped in for lunch. I ordered an "Italian beef" sandwich. (In quotes because the menu name/description and what I got were unrelated). Being so close to Chicago I anticipated a pretty good Italian beef sandwich. I got a sandwich made from several slices of fair quality sliced deli roast beef heated, folded and slapped in a hoagie bun and topped with a partially melted square of American cheese. The menu teased that the sandwich was accompanied by giardiniera but, alas, none appeared. We did get, however some stone cold French fries! Not a pretty picture. read more

The full kitchen comment - we went to another bar and grille across the square. Uh, no, I don't want a microwaved pizza. Left and came here. We'd eaten in a few places in Mount Morris and this was our first time in this place. It was notably clean and since it was for lunch during the day, not too busy. Note: there are two rooms - the one off the front door, and an additional one to the left of the bar. Both have bathrooms. We sat down and ordered up some sandwiches. My burger was very good, and the fries were nice and fresh. However, my wife ordered their Cajun Potato Salad - and I should have. It was very spicy, very good, and TIP: Order the Cajun Potato Salad - if you like hot wings or hot anything, you'll like THIS. Service was from the bartender which was fine - she only had a few customers. The food came out hot from the kitchen. This was a good lunch. Tasty, fresh, and just plain good. Great friendly place. JC is an amazing chef! Tacos, burgers, salads, brisket all have JCs special touches. Nice clean neighborhood bar/restaurant. Staff is always friendly and there is always sports playing on the tvs. Love this place! read more

Great food, not all is typical, they are creative with some dishes (jalapeño Sticks are great!). Probably the single best place to eat in Mt Morris and top 2 or 3 in area. Alcohol is reasonably priced. $2-4 will get you pretty much anything. read more

Don't let the outside curb lack of appeal fool you. The inside is nice and clean. The owners care about the cleanliness of their restaurant and the washrooms are also kept clean. There are many televisions to help you cheer on your favorite team. Now onto the food... the chefs care about the food and it tastes great! I had a delicious burger with fries. Maggie's Idle Hour provided the most fun I've had going out in a long time. I loved the setup of the bar. When you walk in and immediately see one, long bar with bar tables along the other wall. As you walk to the back, you can go into another room with another bar with tables and a stage. There is even a beer garden out back. If you're into a good hangout bar with cheap drinks, darts and metal music, this is the place to be. Everyone in the bar seemed genuinely happy to be out-no one looking for a fight or popping a collar. And I have to mention the bathrooms. Normally, I say make sure to go to the bathroom before you get to a bar, but I'm pretty sure Maggie's toilet was cleaner than my home one--and it stayed that way all night--another point for the type of clientele at this bar! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Even though it was very busy, I never felt like I had to wait for a drink. So, if you're ever in the Oregon, IL/White Pines State Park area, check this place out. If I lived closer, this would be my bar every weekend. read more

Such a cute hometown style bar with a surprisingly good menu! The cheese curds are absolutely delicious. Their burgers are great! Everything we have tried so far has been worth having again. They have a nice outdoor patio to hang out at in the summer. They do have some gaming machines if your into that. The staff is very attentive and service was excellent! read more

I have eaten here in the past and the cheeseburger and fried pickles were excellent today it was the exact opposite the fried pickles were severely overcooked and tasteless and stuck together and very greasy! The hamburger patty actually smelled like dog hair and the bun was buttered and fried on the griddle with rancid butter totally in edible I will never go there again! $20 + wasted! read more

This place has great owners and it is a lot of fun especially on a band night. There are two levels divided by a wall so if you are not into the band you can sit at the down level and catch a game (this place has a lot of TV's), play trivia, do a little gaming or just chat with your friends. The outdoor patio is nice on a summer evening and the food is pretty good too. The burgers are really good and the seasonings on chips and fries is tasty and just right. I miss the turkey Ruben! It's off the menu but there are plenty of other good items on there to try. Margarita could use some work but beers are cold and service is really good! Check it out. read more

Went to this place last night to see my friend play. What a great little neighborhood bar. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Our bartender was so nice and for being the only one on our side of the bar very attentive. I had pulled pork and it was great. I would say I would go back but seeing how it's 1.5 hours away I'm not sure. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

We meet up with our friends every now and then at Maggies, it is always clean, the remodeling was done great. they have great shows, bands/DJ's/comedians/ juke box/video's playing on the TV's. they now serve food and it is a dgood portioned size, very good. I am glad we now have a new place to eat in MM. Dave and Maggie are great people. read more
