Ordered 2 rack of lamb dinners to go. I paid first and planned to come back to pick them up. It came to $84 and some change. I paid cash and the bartender was holding some cash in her hand trying to calculate the amount she would give back. Finally gave me a $5 bill. I asked her why she didn't just run it through the register and she said with cash they don't because a former waitress stole all their money??? Didn't make any sense. Anyhow came back and got my dinners and french onion soup. The baked potato and bread they gave were delicious. The rack of lamb portion was generous but they were way too salty. I mean the salt was throughout the meat. I think they're brining them for some reason and rack of lamb doesn't require that. The french onion soup likewise had an over the top salt content. Had to add water to make it palatable. It's been a long time since I've eaten here but back in the day it was really good. Hope they get their act together again as it's nice to have a fine dining option in the area. read more

Our waitress was wonderful and service during the meal was great. My shrimp was chewy and tasted overcooked, but I didn't think much of it. Upon the conclusion of our meal, a man who we assumed was the owner came over to see how everything was. He proceeded to ask us if we watch Fox News, and told my friend (who was there with her 3 month old) that babies like him in Israel were being "cut out of their mother's wombs and beheaded" so she should be grateful for her baby. It was an incredibly uncomfortable experience and we left immediately after. Unfortunately, I ended up with food poisoning from the chewy shrimp hours later, which was especially unfortunate given that I was visiting from out of town and had to travel home. I would caution others from considering this establishment in the future - both due to food safety as well as appropriateness of staff interactions. read more

Nice place for a good meal or quick sandwich and a pop! Stopped in after a round of golf to get rid of the hunger demons. Not the youngest crowd but a couple next to us struck up a conversation...very friendly and having a good time. The place was filling up and the bar was full. Order the crispy calamari that has a Thai Chile glaze...amazing...love the flavor! Then had the Shrimp Diavolo flatbread that was Oh so Good! read more

Nice setting. Only thing that would have made it better was a nice fireplace. Tried a orange dreamsicle. Served in a martini glass with an orange wedge. Drink was good but thought it would have a bolder taste or something. Maybe it was the oj they used. Calamari with a Thai chili sauce for the appetizer. Calamari rings were lightly breaded and flavored lightly with I believe just pepper but quite tasty. Crab bisque was delicious. Husband said the French Onion soup tasted ok, but looked better. Haha. I had the veal Marsala which was thinly sliced and cooked perfectly that you could cut it with your fork. Husband opted for the special of a petite filet and a lobster tail. He enjoyed his as well excepted he ordered medium and there was barely any pink. His came with a baked potato and server brings over this thing that has sour cream, bacon, butter, shallots & bacon bits on it. You tell her what you want and she will put it on your potato. I went here for Easter Brunch with my family. There were 8 of us. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 20 minutes. The food was very good! But that was the only positive thing that was going on there. We didn't have a waiter. After we went to the buffet and were half done with our food, the same crabby woman who sat us came and took our drink order. After someone else brought our drinks, we were then left alone for the rest of our meal. But what really killed me about that was our gratuity that was added was 47 dollars!!! For what? That's crazy! The desserts where served on plastic plates with plastic silverware. I didn't eat any dessert but my mother said it tasted like frozen cake that had been thawed. The coffee was self serve and paper cups where your only options. The man who was serving the carved meat was not happy nor should have been interacting with the customers because he was not approachable. When he slapped down my aunt rib eye steak, which my mother insists wasn't rib eye, he splattered her with juices and stained her dress shirt. To say my family wasn't impressed would be an understatement. If the price was in the 10-15 dollar range I would have found it very acceptable. But since it was some where between 25-30, I was offended by the plastic plates/silverware and the paper cups. I also saw another family I am friends with and they too were almost offended by the situation. Lastly, when we asked for our checks after flagging down our hostess/server we asked to split the bill. She very quickly snapped at us telling us she cant do that. Which to me wasn't a big deal, but it upset others in my party and the other family I had seen. What bothered me with the situation was how she snapped at us about it. And when my aunt asked why she basically yelled at her. We will not be going back for any kind of holiday meal. I have heard thought that it is a nice place to have a sandwich on the deck. I will try that because the décor and scenery where very nice. read more

Our family goes there for Thanksgiving buffet and the food has always been great! There is carving station, a cheese and salad station, all the trimmings along with tons of dessert. The cost is much less than restaurants in Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving. Service is very good, you cant go wrong here. read more

I really do wish that I could rate this place a little better since it is local. The food is quite good (the main Chef Art M was previously at the Wooden Angel), but the service is really not up to par. Our last visit was for Easter Sunday Brunch. They do not seem to be able to handle a large crowd, as the service was terrible (and a gratuity is automatically added to the check!!) We waited for our beverages and had to ask for a pitcher of water. I had to find someone to bring plates to the salad station. The food was good, but I was appalled to see the main chef (Art) at the carving station. He did not look very happy about it either .That is a job for a sous chef! They just did a terrible job accommodating that many people as were there As the other reviewer mentioned, more training needs to be done. read more

Had lunch here. Buffalo chicken cordon blue, which was good. Nice place to stop for lunch or dinner. Wait staff was nice and attentive.

Read the other reviews. Please, the food is great, Jimmy the owner is a legend, his family welcomes and serves you...a real personal touch that is deeply appreciated. As far as gratuity, All clubs add a gratuity... you leave an additional tip if you so desire. Maggs is a comfortable, Welcoming environment with really good food... an upscale family restaurant... not rushed, Quiet, and nicely appointed. Your experience only grows as you get to know the staff. read more

I really wish I could give a good review here as the food is quite good; however, the service is consistently awful - I don't think management believes in training. I have asked for lemons for my water and they are brought out in the palm of the server's hand. I watched a server drop a spoon on the floor when she was re-setting a table and then placed the spoon on the table for a future customer to use. Another time, when I asked for a fork, it was handed to me with the server holding the tines. We primarily go Sunday afternoons when they are severely understaffed so you wait forever for every step in the process. Personally, I am done as I am tired of leaving the place frustrated. A tiny bit of employee training would go a very long way. read more
