And Brambleton Imports in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. After an incident I had with my first salesman there that caused me to loose his trust, I inquired among my friends, community leaders, and business owners, more in depth about their opinion of Brambleton Imports. Every single one of them had a positive opinion and wonderful impression of this car dealership that has been in business for around 30 years and who's founder and owner, Robert "Woody" Woodward, is still involved in its operation. With this excellent background about the business, I decided to return with a retired pilot who was a friend of a good friend of mine, and deal with another sales consultant. For in sales the customer is not owned. He has to be earned all the step of the way. And I am a firm believer of Relationship selling. "Relationship salesmanship, is a sales approach that prioritizes building trust and long-term relationships with customers over simply closing a deal. It involves understanding the customer's needs, offering tailored solutions, and fostering a genuine connection that leads to ongoing partnerships." This second time when we arrived, we found Sales consultant Danny, in his office and went to him. He did an excellent job in listening to both of us, in explaining what they had available at the time, and in taking us for a test drive, first of a Honda Accord and then of the 2022 Lexus ES 350 Luxury Edition, which I ended up purchasing cash, with my 5 years of savings and investing with this goal in mind. After all, I once taught at the university level a very popular course titled: "How to Make Your Money Grow." On the second day, I went to put together the deal. Danny gave me a copy of all the paperwork with the description of the Lexus and one with a photograph of it on top, and a breakdown of the costs and total payment I needed to have the check made. He also gave both my friend and I a Brambleton Imports cap. What is even better, he introduced me to Woody, the owner of the dealership, and wonderful person, who congratulated me for the ownership of my new car, and told me to come by anytime if I needed my car washed. On the third day, Danny understood that it would take some time to gather my high-interest savings and investments, together and transfer the amount to my Credit Union here. As a sign of good intention I wrote a deposit check for $1,000 and handed it to him. Today, we successfully finalized the deal, it was a win/win situation. He not only obtained my business, but what's even more important, my trust and my future referrals. And I received the beautiful Lexus of my dream. His delivery of my Lexus was exceptional. He showed me how some of the basics worked, connected my cellphone Bluetooth with the car, and programmed my home address.

ENGINE FAILURE WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING…read more This is my first one-star review, and I do not give that rating lightly. For nearly five months, I have worked with CMA's Hyundai of Lynchburg (CMA) regarding serious engine problems with my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. The customer service has been as concerning as the engine failure itself. My vehicle problems began in December 2025. I took my car to a trusted local independent repair shop and paid $4,038.91 out of pocket to replace the turbocharger assembly and related components. When additional problems developed in March 2026, I returned to that shop. Based on what they were seeing, they identified issues involving this type of Hyundai engine and directed me to CMA for further evaluation. Hyundai has issued technical guidance addressing engine oil consumption, including inspection, repair, and engine-replacement procedures. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also documents recalls and investigations involving Hyundai Theta II GDI engines, including action involving more than 1.6 million Theta II-equipped vehicles. I am not claiming my vehicle was subject to those recalls. I have included screenshots from Hyundai's Technical Service Bulletin and NHTSA's published documentation so readers can review the information directly. By June, CMA documented that my engine was consuming more than two quarts of oil every 1,000 miles and had "failed internally." Service & Parts Director Mark Hall later wrote that "Hyundai's engineering team is aware of engine failures of this nature and has made improvements over time." He also confirmed that Hyundai determined that "lack of maintenance or outside influence was not the cause" and that the failure was related to "part fatigue." The customer service has been unacceptable. Calls, messages and texts went unanswered. I met with Mark on June 26 and was troubled by how my concerns about this level of engine failure were addressed. On June 29, I sent Mark a detailed email requesting answers and documentation. TWO WEEKS passed without even an acknowledgment despite continued attempts to obtain a response. On July 13, I escalated the issue to Hyundai Motor America (HMA) leadership. Only after executive escalation did substantive communication begin. During a later conversation, Olivia from HMA repeatedly instructed me not to include executive leadership on my emails because, as she stated several times, they would not read them. The repair remains unresolved. Hyundai has requested customer cost participation toward the engine replacement, while I have requested full coverage based on Hyundai's own determination that the failure resulted from "part fatigue" and was not caused by lack of maintenance or outside influence. I left my vehicle at CMA on July 27 for an independent third-party inspection. That inspection has been completed, yet I have not been informed of its findings. I have only been told that the matter remains "under review." As of today, August 21, CMA has had my vehicle for 25 DAYS. I have no dealership-provided loaner and no anticipated date for its return. After weeks without my vehicle, CMA still has not arranged an appropriate rental or loaner. I escalated the transportation issue to HMA. Melissa, an Executive Customer Service Specialist, informed me in writing that assistance is limited to $60/day INCLUDING taxes and fees, that "rental reimbursement is not guaranteed," and that the amount approved, "if any," would be determined only after I rented and paid for a vehicle myself. Throughout this process, I have repeatedly been told my frustration is "understood" and my concerns are "documented," while I continue pursuing answers myself. Acknowledging a customer's frustration is not the same as providing customer service. After nearly five months, my vehicle remains at CMA with no anticipated completion date or dealership-provided transportation.

BUYER BEWARE My fiancé purchased a 2010 Ford Taurus from this dealership, before purchasing the car we throughly explained we needed a safe reliable vehicle as we travel back and forth to Kentucky to visit my family, we were assured there were no issues with the vehicle whatsoever and that it's been throughly inspected by their mechanic, on the initial test drive the car seemed fine at normal speeds, after the test drive we went back to get the car, we were assured once again by Sean that the vehicle was excellent and had no issues, so we paid the 2000$ down and got the car, after leaving the dealership we headed to Kentucky an hour into the drive the car started jerking terribly, we came back to the dealership and presented the problem too Sean, Sean said it was nothing to worry about and that he would have the vehicle put in the garage so they could diagnose and fix the issue, this is where my simple problem turned into the worst experience we've ever had with a dealership, we dropped the vehicle off at his garage that he recommended we take it too, we left the vehicle with them for 2 days and when we went to pick up the vehicle we were told "The car is perfect, has no issues AT ALL" of course i knew that was not true because the transmission would jerk so bad that it wouldn't even shift to the next gear, we get the keys to the car and go to leave, upon getting into the car we noticed what the garage calls a "service paper" on said paper there were a long list of issues the garage found outside of the original issue it was brought in for but yet they told me the car was perfect and had no issues, this upset me so again I went back to the dealership and spoke with Sean about the issue and told him that they claimed there were no issues with the car and then explained to him what I found on the service paper they left in my car, it was at that point sean changed his opinion on his own garage and said he recommend I not take my car to that garage to get transmission work done out of his own mouth he stated "I wouldn't trust them to do transmission work on that vehicle" also the garage was gonna be closing March 1st anyways, the only time I felt as if we were looked at as customers was when who I'm gonna assume is Sean's brother came up to me and my fiancé and offered to ride with us so we could show him the issue (something I asked the mechanic at the garage to do but was told they were too busy) too this I strongly agreed too and appreciate that he took the time to do that, immediately after getting onto the hiway the vehicle started jerking and was verified finally by again who I'm assuming is Sean's brother, took the vehicle back and then was in a back and forth for weeks trying to get this issue resolved with no luck, so we were at that point stuck with a car that we could barley even drive but yet, my fiancé was frustrated at this point and left a negative review, after leaving said review we were contacted multiple times by Sean trying to get us to remove the review because "the owner seen it and was upset" this went on for another couple weeks of trying to get us to remove the review but yet nothing was being done about the problem we were having with the car, we were finally tired of dealing with the run around on getting the vehicle fixed so we purchased a new car and returned this one back to the dealership, as of today the vehicle is back on his lot ready to be sold to the next victim, all in all worst experience at a dealership I've ever had!!!!
