What can I say. The place has been around forever!! Their ice cream and shakes are awesome . It's cash only but that's ok. The spot is big with benches on the outside. You can walk up to the window or drive around. They'll staff that run the place I think most are in high school which is cool and they're pretty fast with the service and friendly . I go every year as soon as they open and get me a shake ! Fairly affordable but some of the items can get pricey. Highly recommend!

I love coming to Magic fountain in the summer! I love their birthday cake flavor, and they have like a strawberry cheesecake flavor that is unique to them and totally delicious. They have a drive-through and a few windows at the storefront to take orders. I've always found the staff really kind, helpful and quick. They also have little picnic tables for you to sit with family and friends. It's a staple! Go!

The watered down booty slushie they gave me and claimed this is how they make them. LMAO. Save ur money!

I'd rate it a zero if possible. Ordered a slushy and they gave me basically melted colored water and then stated that's how they make their drinks offering no help whatsoever. Bunch of young entitled teens working that have no idea where they're even at. Would find a Rita's close by or something else if I were you.

Craving delicious ice cream and you're in the area? Visit Magic Fountain! Ambiance: Magic Fountain is located on the corner of Broadway and 43rd street. They also have a drive through window which is useful! Ice Cream: During my first visit I tried the regular vanilla soft serve with sprinkles. During my current visit I tried the Oreo hurricane which was great! If you have a cookie in every bite and it's well mixed I count the ice cream as AMAZING! Price: For two small hurricanes was $11. And the cups were huge for a small! Worth it in my opinion. Parking: There's a couple of parking spaces inside the lot. You can also find street parking. Service: Quick and easy. A lot of high school kids work here and they're always so helpful! Tip: CASH ONLY! There's no ATM on site so bring cash. Magic Fountain IS open during this pandemic (COVID-19) and they answered my questions quick on Instagram as well!

Solid ice cream here...no pun intended. During my visit I ordered the medium size serving which included 2 scoops of their home made hard ice cream for $3.75. That's a relatively good deal, cheaper than other local shops like Torico. You may get better value in buying a pint if you already have a favorite flavor. Both the pistachio and the cookie dough flavors were very good. They had a subtle sweetness (which I like), were creamy, and had good portions of pistachio and dough to nibble on. There is a parking lot with an outdoor seating area available. Also they offer drive through service. However, the drive thru line seems to get longer than walk in. So I advise that you just park and grab your scoop. It seems to be a family owned business. They are CASH ONLY and tax seems to be included in the price, which makes their pricing an even better bargain. Normally the servers are polite. But during my last visit when I brought a big group of about 10 customers to try out their ice cream, the clerk got my second round of orders wrong. For one set of 4 orders he charged me for 5 ice creams instead. When I attempted to correct him showing him that there are only 4 people in front of him ordering and yet he gave me 5 separate ice cream servings, the man said "well I can't take the ice cream back and can't refund!" Now of course this is really not an excuse since he got the orders wrong. When I pushed that fact he disgruntedly gave me the refund for one ice cream. However, when I calculated everything after I left the stand, I realized that he actually overcharged me for TWO extra ice cream servings, not just one! Overall, this spot has good ice cream, at reasonable prices and is conveniently located. If they teach their staff to handle customer service issues better then they'll be 4 stars. But after my last experience they'll get a 3 star and I doubt I'll ever bring a large group there again to avoid the potential headaches with large orders. So always check that you got the right order and that you got charged the right price before you walk away!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Hurricane & Oreo Hurricane blended with Vanilla Ice Cream.

My all-time favorite dessert is vanilla custard/soft serve ice cream with toppings, so Magic Fountain definitely became a go-to spot in Bayonne. I've stopped by Magic Fountain twice and both times I've ordered a Medium Vanilla Hurricane with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups blended inside. The Hurricane's are quite similar to a Sonic Blast or McDonald's McFlurry. The vanilla soft serve here is thick, creamy & delicious! It is truly the perfect base for any topping. The medium size was a nice portion, as well. I have not tried their other menu options, but I will certainely try something new once the weather warms up! Also, Magic Fountain only takes cash so definitely make sure you have some before you put in your order. Other than that, the service is very friendly and it's a wonderful spot to stop by in Bayonne if you're looking for a solid ice cream option!

Rita's has been a favorite since they started popping up in New Jersey years ago. I especially go to Rita's now because they offer some sugar free options which are still plenty sweet. You can bring home larger sizes like a quart or gallon to freeze up for later. They aso do some catering which is nice for a childrens birthday party on a hot summer day. Staff is very nice and patient with indecisive customers. Will definitely return for more Rita's Italian Ices.

Holding it or tasting it gives a substantial, high-quality feel. However, the consequence is that even the staff struggles to scoop it out with their spherical ice cream scoops, let alone the disposable plastic spoons provided to customers. Green Tea: The highest praise Chinese people can give for desserts--not sweet--and it truly tastes like green tea, not matcha. The refreshing bitterness was incredibly pure, even bordering on slightly bitter, which is extremely rare in the US. Vanilla Peanut Butter: Very milky, but extremely salty, like eating peanut butter spread on bread. The vanilla flavor was almost completely masked. Coconut & Cream: I've always trusted American coconut ice cream, but this time it was a bit of a disappointment. The cream completely overshadowed the coconut, so much so that it took me a long time to recall what flavor I actually ordered. Ube: One bite brought back childhood memories, exactly the same as the ube flavor Wuyang五羊 ice cream cone. It was so touching I didn't order this in the end since I want to try more flavors as possible. I don't know why, but ube flavor seems to be gradually fading in China... Blueberry Cheesecake: The initial taste was a rich, sweet cream, with a refreshing hint of blueberry tartness in the aftertaste. It's pretty good, but honestly, it's not particularly outstanding. Banana Peanut Butter Chunk: The staff recommended this signature dish, and it once again made me realize how subjective taste can be... It's on the sweeter and saltier side, with a very strong flavor, but more importantly, it has a noticeable artificial banana flavor.
