I didn't arrive until the crew had just finished cleaning. I did a quick walkthrough and didn't notice any issues at the time. However, when the new tenant moved in, they found that the kitchen cabinets had not been cleaned at all. Unfortunately, the previous tenant had left the cabinets quite messy, so I had to reduce the new tenant's first month's rent. I have never hired a house cleaning service before, but as I get older, I can't get on my knees and scrub my bathroom anymore :( My initial request via Yelp projects was just for that one service. I received a few replies, some two days later (!) but Helane at Maid 4 You answered right away. After some back and forth via Yelp, we began to text. By far the easiest! She told me her minimum fee was $100 and asked what else could they clean to make it right. Long story short, it was by far the best quote I received so I booked for today. The two people who cleaned went above and beyond (I think, more later). My bathroom and the one on the main floor as well as the one on the third floor are sparkling! Just to add a tip here: they don't give a "window" appointment, so when the cleaning crew finished another job early, Helane texted to ask if they could come but it was an hour and 15 minutes earlier. We weren't ready! We had so. much. stuff. The clutter struggle is real. Here is one more, very important tip: the "lead" cleaner spoke a little English but the other one I think none. It was delightful to listen to them speaking Portuguese! But if I was doing this again from scratch, I would ask the boss to come to the house so we could be very clear what was and wasn't to be done. I honestly don't know what they were told, but if it was their normal cleaning routine it was beyond excellent!! I just didn't know - having never hired anyone for this before - what to expect or how to direct them. Will we have them back? You bet. DD and I are thinking a monthly visit from these fantastic cleaners will be well worth the very reasonable cost. PS - I had to google how much to tip because as I said I was a first timer. Took them about 4 hours. I mainly wanted them to get all the dust bunnies from under the beds but didn't realize how happy I would be with the microwave and refrigerator. I was also out of town with the kids so scheduled something last minute, i.e. I called on Sunday and Lucia wae able to send someone over the next day on Monday. (I am writing my second or third review because I see Yelp took down my initial review - I'm not sure why.) When I need to have my house cleaned on a different day or need someone to can clean the apartment we used to rent out below our home, they always respond quickly and almost always can accommodate the request. They charge a bit more than other cleaning services, but I am happy to pay more for knowing that the staff is treated well, with health and other benefits such as paid leave, and the services are consistent and high quality.
