Full disclosure, I didn't hire this company. It took longer than most for them to come out for an interior paint estimate. They did come out, it took over 2 weeks to get the estimate that was promised in a week. Most companies returned the estimate within 48 hours. I wouldn't hire them as a result. Excellent customer service, fabulous response time and great work! My water heater leaked in my 1964 built home and asbestos was found. A great plumber was here quickly to restore hot water and move the water heater out so proper clean up and repair could take place without inconvenience. The crazy rain we have been having in Cali had made my home leak again on one of my living room windows, damaging the window frame. A young man by the name of Leo came by, carefully took off the damaged window frame, returned some days later and installed a new frame. What I liked about Leo was that he was very knowledgeable in his work but most of all very patient and took great care to do the job correctly. I've had older workers come by the house in the past and although they may have been quicker because they had 2 people working, they often did a hack job, cutting corners and did the job incorrectly, all in the name to save time. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about using Magic Maintenance to ask for Leo as he does the job with pride and care, something you dont find in most workers nowadays. Yesterday I had all my carpets cleaned, my kitchen tile and grout cleaned as well as my bathroom tile and shower. It looks amazing. We have been using using Magic Maintenance for over 10 years for carpet cleaning, upholstery, and tile and grout cleaning. The Magic Maintenance service team always do a phenomenal job. They also take great care while doing the work; by providing bumpers on the corners to protects the walls from hoses when carpet cleaning for instance, and by covering up floor moulding when cleaning the tile. Customer service is also excellent; Donald who I deal with to book my appointments is always professional and helpful. I have used this company since 2014 and worked with Victor Pilar (manager) for his dedication to Magic Maintenance. He has his crew do the job right and I've been a happy customer for (7) years. I can count on this company 100%. Victor has had his crew fix what other people has done unsatisfactory. Painting, Fixed the back of a $750 dollar cabinet that another contractor totally destroyed, fixed a laminated floor piece that you couldn't tell it was patched with an extra board, and so much more. Magic Maintenance was nothing but absolutely amazing!!! They took care of our house like it was their own. We needed work done in our upstairs baby room, and Jorge the tech went above and beyond to help me and my wife out. He helped me move heavy furniture out of the room that I could not move myself, and he taped off and put plastic over everything in the room, I mean everything! It made my wife feel comfortable and very happy (which is priceless lol) and there was absolutely no mess or dust went he was finished! Jorge explained the job to us the moment he walked in, gave us all the details and a time when the work would be completed. He even finished the job early! We hired magic maintenance to do a deep clean. To say they didn't do the job as promised would be an understatement. Left grease on the cabinets, floors and bathtubs (even the ones that aren't used often) were left dirty. The crew was nice and respectful, BUT the owner over promised and underdelivered. When we asked him to come back and finish the job, he refused to. Now we have to hire another company to come in and complete what they didn't. Anyone considering this company look somewhere else.... I was better off going with Molly maids. we can't show the House as planned this weekend. Also the owner didn't even have enough respect for us to come down and look at the issues. I needed some drywall repair so I called them. The guy came over and looked at the damage 0n Jan 28. Two days later they send a proposal I signed it and hand delivered it to them. I didn't hear back for another two weeks They said they were backed up and couldn't do the job until some time in early March . In early March they called me again and said because of Covid they couldn't do the job and had to to reschedule to sometime in late March In the meantime I contacted another contractor he came over on a Thursday and did the job that weekend. When they called in late March I told them they were just screwing with me and that the job was done. I don't think they were too interested in doing the work because it wasn't a big money making job. They should've told me that in the first place and I wouldn't have wasted my time read more

Instead of notifying me in writing that they would need to enter my property, they have been helping themselves without permission to my yard, leaving paint chips all over my flower bed, and trampling my plants to oblivion. Had a small water leak, and a tiny area of black mold began to grow under the carpet. These guys came out on several different occasions, and not only cleaned up the mold, but cleaned everything else around it. They wiped down all the walls, replaced padding and tack board, and taped off the entire area around it to make sure there wasn't an additional area that was contaminated. Then on top of all that, instead of just shampooing the carpet of the small area that was affected, they shampooed the carpets in our entire master bathroom and whole master bedroom! They were incredibly knowledgeable and efficient, and it was obvious that have been doing this a long time... But above all, they were super professional, respectful, and thankful to be doing the job. It's hard to find good help these days, but Magic Maintenance has made a lifetime customer out of me! This company has a very weak "middle" process. They respond well to come out to assess the work and then fall apart giving you a quote. I contracted with them to do some exterior painting and it took almost 2 1/2 weeks to get the quote back and that was after some calls to find out the status. The work they did was great though. The guys were very professional and I was thoroughly satisfied. I then asked them if they would be willing to do a small exterior paint job on a relatives house ( about 2 hours worth) and they said "no job is too small". Again they came out promptly to examine the work and that was October 8. I am writing this on November 2 and I still haven't received the estimate. Now I can take this 2 ways- 1. Their estimating process is very broken. Or 2. They don't want the job because it is too small and they're going to blow me off. I am going to be painting my whole house in about 3 years and I am considering using them for this because the work is excellent. What would you do? D Ruddy read more

We contacted Magic Maintenance to have the carpet cleaned in our condo. The upstairs was, admittedly, with heavy dirt and dog smell. MM came to provide an estimate and I was assured that the dirt and smell would be gone, as the used some "orange" chemical to clean. Because of the assurance, I agreed to have them clean the carpet. After they were done, we were told the the stains were "set in" and after the cleaner smell went away, the dog smell persisted. We called to complain about the odor, and they came and sprayed some sort of "deodorizer". Smell persisted. We rented a carpet cleaner from the local market and we were able to remove the stains that were "set in" and also the smell. If that is the way they clean carpets, I don't want to see how they perform their other services. Service with a smile is only good if the outcome of the service is good. read more

They were doing a kitchen repair that was covered by my HOA due to the nature of the water damage. They had to pull out my always-reliable, always solid Kenmore dishwasher that I've never had a problem with the entire 14 years I've lived here, and in doing so, completely bent all four legs. The plumber on the job is the one that noticed it and recommended I not reinstall it for fear of imbalance and future water damage. Magic's guys denied and denied that they were the ones that caused the damage, and then they tried to claim that I took a hammer to it and did it myself. I proceeded to go round and round with Magic and the HOA, and even the insurance company. The plumber (Dennis at T & M Plumbing) was nice enough to write a letter on my behalf stating the potential hazards of reinstalling it. Three months later, I finally got a check to cover a comparable replacement, which will never be as good as my Kenmore. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. And why that cost came out of my HOA and not Magic's pocket is baffling. I would never use this company again or recommend them. Not only because of their employees' neglect in damaging a perfectly good appliance, but because of Magic's lack of integrity in the way they handled the issue. read more

When mold was discovered in 5 different areas of my mom's house, I was referred to Magic Maintenance (MM). They estimated that the mold remediation would cost 5K, and I signed a contract with them for this amount. When MM later discovered that the mold was much more extensive than they thought, Esquivel scared me in to thinking that there was tens of thousands of dollars of work. Since I already had paid them some money, and they already started remediation, I was hesitant to leave. Long story short, they were milking the fact that I already was knee deep in their sh*t, and it was hard to get out. Luckily, my friends referred me to Acme Clean Air. Even though the project was halfway done, Acme's estimate on the remaining work was about $4,000 cheaper than MM! Even though it was a pain, I decided to switch. I then told MM that I no longer wanted them to finish the job. They told me that I owed them 10K even though I NEVER authorized them to remediate beyond the 5K. They even admitted that they should not have continued the job without my permission! I had to negotiate with them about the amount, but I am so glad I switched. Acme finished the job in a few days, I passed the mold inspection, and saved a few thousand dollars! Oh, and also when MM disassembled the house, they had to take down cabinets, remove flooring, and vanities. My reconstruction company (TD Restoration) told me that the frames and styles for my kitchen cabinets were missing! I called MM to see where they were, and they had no explanation, so I had to pay the construction company to remake them! This was a very upsetting experience for me! read more

We recently had our Master Bathroom re-done. We had new counter tops, faucets, sinks, intricately designed backsplashes, shower, shower doors and painting done. EXCELLENT WORK. Techs were knowledgeable, neat and polite. What's equally as important is that they were not just anxious to get the work done, but wanted to get it done properly. It was messy (primarily dusty), but each evening when they left the job site, the workers made certain to clean-up. In addition, when the job was ultimately finished, a clean-up crew came in and cleaned the entire house from top to bottom. Our only complaint (if any) was that we were anxious to "get our home back" and the job took a bit longer than anticipated. We were initially told that the job could easily be completed within a month. However, in all fairness, the delay was not directly the fault of the company. There was a problem with the special design in the back-splash we selected. When it was resolved, all went smoothly again and everything was completed within a few days longer than the anticipated time frame.
