Jake and his wonderful team renovated two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room into a fully ADA compliant beautiful in-law suite with full kitchen. They also transformed an enormous second story game room into two bedrooms and a hallway. The bedrooms had very high ceilings and Jake installed and helped design large lofts that created a second story feeling for beds. The rooms are more like small apartment! Really amazing work. We also had new networking run throughout the house and his team worked with the networking team seamlessly. Another 5 Star experience with Silverman's Construction! I am so happy that I hired Jake and his team of amazing craftspersons to update my 1980's house with over 1000 sf of luxury vinyl plank flooring. The original ceramic tile floors had been "refurbished" over the decades, but were worn and cracked, with missing and discolored grout, and really just not in line with my ranch house lifestyle decor dreams. The team did a great job removing the tile floors and installing the plank flooring. Jake made many excellent recommendations regarding the upgrades to not only the floors and baseboards, but also improving the door casings and interior millwork. Friendly and Professional! Working with Luke and his team of subs was a great experience. Wish there were more stars to award. We refreshed our condo by touching up the paint in all the rooms, painted all interior doors and a bathroom, painted the cabinets in the kitchen and both baths and upgraded with soft-close hardware. We hired Silverman's to do our Master Bath remodel and are very pleased with the results. We were concerned about getting it done before the holidays but they made it happen ahead of schedule. They were also very patient with us in the bidding process as we had to change scope a few times while battling insurance co. They did what they said they would do and all of their subs were top notch. They only take SCV jobs and are local and I highly recommend using them if you are here in SCV. Don't bother with contractors in SFV. Having a local team that was very responsive made things very smooth. We will be hiring them again for the next project. read more

Then a response comes from him and he gives a rubber stamp response..."sorry. I'm booked for this time." I double checked my original request and it does indeed say, my project time is flexible. I would give Silverman's more stars if possible. I wanted to add a patio cover to my home and our HOA requires that the cover has to be wood. I contacted a few contractors but got no response or was told that they no longer build wood patio covers. I found Silverman's on Yelp. I called the number listed and Jake Silverman answered the phone - he listed his cell phone number. Jake came out the next day and arrived right on time. He understood exactly what we wanted and had several ideas to make it better. He gave us a quote which we accepted. Jake contacted our HOA and talked to the person responsible for approving the project. He also walked the building permit through the city building department. We set up a start date and his crew arrived right on time - every time work was scheduled. Each member of his crew was friendly, accommodating and skilled. Jake was not always on the job, but I could always reach him via phone or text messaging. The completed job is really high quality and exhibits the craftsmanship of crew and Jake's high standards As with any job, there were a couple of mishaps, but they were addressed and corrected immediately. During the final inspection Jake noted a couple of things not up to his standards and called people to come out and make things right. I would not hesitate to recommend Silverman's to anyone and I will use them for future projects. It has now been one year since Silverman's completed my patio cover. When the job was completed Jake Silverman told me that he would come back after the patio had gone through the heat of the Summer to fix any gaps created by shrinkage of the lumber. Jake recently sent a worker to my home to tighten hardware and calk any gaps that appeared. After making the repairs the affected areas were repainted. This much appreciated work was done at no cost to me. Jake stands behind his work and makes adjustments caused by Mother Nature. read more

Highly recommend Silverman's Construction! We essentially did a full remodel of our condo including, new flooring, kitchen and bathroom (2) remodel. The quality of work is top-notch, and we are so thrilled with the outcome! From our first meeting with Jake (owner) and Luke (project manager), we knew we liked them. They were straight-to-the-point and efficient discussing the scope of work. A week later they provided a detailed estimate that didn't come close to what another contractor quoted us. Needless to say, after signing the contract, they got to work within the next week. Communication throughout the project was fantastic. They were always direct and honest with us and provided great suggestions and options throughout the project. Where to begin with Silverman's Construction. Luke was my guy. I hired them to tear down & rebuild our pergola patio cover in the backyard. We have a large side area & a large back area. Two completely separate patio covers. Both probably 32 feet by 8 feet each. Old ones were made of solid wood. We met with Luke a couple of times to discuss the project, the design, construction, etc. Each time I had questions or wanted to ask something about the backyard project, Luke was responsive. Further if I asked him to come over to check something out or talk to me about this, that, or another thing, he would come over. Luke had maybe 4 guys working the backyard project. These guys were very friendly to me/us. They knew what their job was to do and they did it efficiently and cleanly. When it came time to construct the new covers it was the same crew. They took care of all of the painting, moving of the lumber (we built the new covers with wood), and installing the entire 2 structures. Luke's guys left no trace that they were there, after they finished. I think it took about two to three weeks to have the entire backyard project complete. When I go outside I still am in awe over the patio covers we have. Not just because the covers that were taking down were 20+ years old but just the design, the crisp new white paint, how the support beams were installed & finished. Then we had Luke do some work on the inside of the house. We completely remodeled our living room. There was a large architectural showpiece inside the living room that was definitely from the late 80s. I'm sure it was amazing back then but not in style in 2022. We did the demo ourselves, it was a lot of demo, opened an entire wall, removed the showpiece that included 2 columns. For 2 non-construction people we really tore it up. As a result of how much was demolished we had a great deal of trash, debris, ripped out drywall, etc. Luke was gracious enough to remove literally all of the trash for us. That helped us tremendously. Now we did take a fair amount of time (us, homeowners) to do the demolition and Luke was very patient with us. He never pushed a timeline on us, never rushed us. Since the wall was open I wanted to run cabling & wiring and have some electrical work done, before the wall was closed. With it being summer and both of us working we could only do open wall & attic work over the weekends. Luke basically said when we're ready to have items done just let him know and he will schedule it. Very much appreciated that. When we were ready for the drywall to go back up we told Luke and he got it scheduled. His drywall guys were great. They took care of all wall install in 2 days. Not too long before the wall was to go up I changed my mind on what drywall I wanted installed. Since the wall was open and we were rearranging the living room, we would soon be having sound (I'm a very loud music/sound person) go into a wall that previously never had sound pushing at it. Therefore I wanted to have a better quality, sound-dampening drywall installed. I asked for QuietRock and Luke had no issue procuring that, again even though it was not too much advance notice from when the wall was scheduled to go in. I can absolutely feel the sound absorption because of the QuietRock. Once the wall was in I was SO pleased. The top part of the entire wall exposed the attic and anyone in SoCal knows that an attic in summer is miserable. All we could do was keep plastic sheeting on the wall to try & block the heat from the attic. When the drywall guys were done the wall was great. The drywall guys also helped us out by patching in some other spaces in the other walls in the living room. Thank you! read more

Jake and his team are extremely professional, knowledgable, and easy to work with. They came in with a great quote, reasonable timeline and most importantly, Jake and everyone on his team are superb communicators. I've worked with other contractors before, and it's a difficult thing to open your home to all the dust and boots and bathroom visits by strangers for several weeks. But Silverman Construction has been extremely thoughtful and considerate. Several times Jake and his team have taken that extra step and worked harder or longer to make sure everything is polished and I'm happy. They explain the job overall and along the way each step is clarified. I'm included in the decision making process as much as needed and if I'm not available, I can trust the crew to make smart decisions. This kind of reliability is usually hard to find. Everything from crew's parking, daily clean up, attention to detail and even thoughtfulness about my 22 month old's safety is top notch. It's necessary but a rare thing to feel like the team that is gutting a part of your home is on your side. Moving into a new home for the first time, I needed to remove a number of walls. I brought in at least 3 contractors from other companies who claimed to offer free estimates. Some said the walls were load-bearing and would cost enormous prices, including a whole mess of city permits. Others never even got back to me. Enter Jake: He took 10 minutes to walk through my house and explain exactly what we needed to do. Unlike the others, Jake could tell right away that the walls were non-loading bearing. It saved me a ton of money. A few weeks later, the walls were gone. Jake's crew was fantastic. My husband and I bought our first home a few years ago and it was a fixer upper/short sale. We finally saved enough money to remodel towards the end of 2014 before the holidays. We hired Jake Silverman and his crew and they installed all new doors and door frames, dual panel windows and sliding glass door, new wood floors, new base boards, removed our popcorn ceiling, and painted the whole interior (3 bed, 2 bath, and the ceiling) of our house.
