I called the salon at 6:00 p.m. and asked if they had any immediate availability and they said to come on down (I had called a few other salons prior and they all said they couldn't take me so late). I've been to lots of manicure/ pedicure places and even some have given me toenail fungal infections which have taken years of treatment to get rid of. I went to Magic Nail Salon for a pedicure and I had not had a pedicure in years, so my feet were dry and cracked and needed some attention. I received the Magical Pedicure which was $37.00. It was expensive but the best pedicure I had received in years. Afterward my feet were completely smooth and not a single crack in my heals thanks to their callus treatment! Really wish I could leave a better review, but I had a horrible experience here. Was told that a pedi would cost $20 - couldn't beat that! The man who clipped and painted my toes did a horrible beginners job on my French pedi. White lines were crooked and clipped my toenails crooked too. Then asked if he could charge my card for $20 - I said of course! Got the receipt back and he charged me $30! I asked him why he charged me an additional $10 dollars and he said that was his tip! REALLY?! I asked him to refund me back $10 and he wouldn't do so! Never coming back here again! read more

Ive been coming here for 7 yrs and I'm a happy customer. I'm really hard on my nails with my job but they seem to look good all the way until my next appt. I switched to gel nails and within a few months I had a reaction/infection on one of my fingers. I've been to the dermatologists twice, anitibiotics etc and still cant get the swelling and redness to go away. My derm told me to nix the gel and only apply non-toxic polish if I'm going to use polish at all. Also the lights they use dry the skin on hands and nails. I asked if they made non-toxic polish and the owner told me no. After some research they've been making and selling it for awhile now. Hmm../?? Magic nails does not carry n/t polish:( I'm letting whats left grow out and I doubt I"ll ever get acrylic or gel again. I already miss them:( read more

I had the absolute hands down best shellac manicure here with Amber. I have had regular shellac manicures for a couple of years now and have gone to several different places in the Modesto/Riverbank area. I can honestly say Amber did the best manicure. Unfortunately I can't give them 0 stars. Was dragged here by my friend before her wedding. She made an appointment months in advance, and yet there was not enough room for all of us to get pedi's at the same time. I also had to get a nail I had broken fixed because I didn't have time to go to my usual salon (Versailles salon & spa), the guy that "fixed" it for me didn't take all the acrylic off from the previous nail, for starters, and proceeded to spend at least 20 minutes shaping it horribly. Obviously not up on current nail shapes, even when they have 9 perfect examples in front of them. The cherry on top of this sundae is the athletes foot I acquired on my heel. Took me awhile to put it together, but as I do not get pedicures regularly, this is the only place I could have been susceptible. I'll stick with friendly salons I know are clean! read more

Tried this place out after the place I normally go to couldn't take me today. Glad I did! Tasteful, peaceful decor. Organized. Price was comparable to my normal place (only $1 more.) Went for a gel manicure and the nail tech was very thorough. They took me immediately, even though I didn't have an appointment. Word to the wise: they only accept cash tips. I think this place may be my new "normal" nail place, but will wait to see how well the manicure holds up before I decide for sure. read more

Have been going here since the parents owned and ran the business and continue to go. Song does a great fill and is fast. I always get compliments on my nails. Had her do a full set for my daughter for her wedding and, as expected, turned out great. However, decided to treat myself and my daughter to pedicures. I had never had one. My daughter was pleased with hers but I ended up with a chemical burn on the top of my foot. Was a bit surprised and disappointed they still charged me. I still have a scar on the top of my foot. Not to be deterred, went in for another pedicure with a different girl. It was okay but not thrilled. I will definitely continue to go there for my nails. Another pedicure? Not so sure. read more

Within 10 days, not 1 but 2 nails broke, and I'm not talking of the normal fall/brake off by hitting something you are aware of, but I'm talking about just the tip evenly just braking, they were just too thin or something, I seriously don't recall hitting anything! You know when you do, and you know its understandable that it broke, but this was different, they broke off out of nowhere! Anyways, I go in to get new ones, and although I thought I deserved a discount, considering that it was within 10 days..... but they charged Me $6 for both, whatever. 1 week later another one falls off! I go in, and request they do it thicker this time. I did let them know I was just in a week ago replacing 2 other ones! When she's done and I asked how much, she tells Me $5! I became upset and questioned why $5, I thought it was $3, she right away starts freaking telling Me that they couldn't keep giving them to Me for free! I raised my voice and told her what the hell she was talking about free when I just told you I was here a week ago and paid $6 for TWO! Of course, they then started talking in their language! I said whatever, threw them their $5 and told them they sucked anyways and they had lost My business! Seriously, they don't know how to keep their customers, they right away try to get loud with you, they won't admit to any fault! Don't recommend them, they fall off easy, and as I was going to get them done elsewhere, I had to take them off, and it was not hard to do so, that's because they were never good quality to begin with! read more

My friend and I went to get our nails done. When the lady finished with her nails she said "37 with a 5 dollar tip" my friend didn't understand her very well and accidentally gave her an extra $5. They worker should've said something about over paying but she didn't. Also she shouldn't have mentioned that we had to give them a tip. I've been here many times before without this happening. The salon is very clean, and all tools are in sterilized bags before they are opened. The staff is very polite, and the ambience is very calm. I've never had any issues with anyone being rude, nor any weird infections as previously stated in another review. I wanted to like this place. I really did. It's a great location and at first glance it looks clean. Ready to get grossed out!? They only have ONE brush at the sink! So when she told me to go wash my hands, I went to the sink and was shocked when I saw a nail brush sitting one the counter. It wasn't soaking or anything. It's cold/flu season! That's disgusting! Wow, what a great experience! Firstly, the shop is lovely inside. Nice bright windows and nice decor. Most nail shops in the area are cheesy inside and are (let's be honest) have a somewhat dirty feel to them. Not Magic Nails. The shop is very cleanly and you can tell the ladies here take pride in what they do. They are exceptionally friendly, polite, and will engage you in conversation. I have never been to a more sanitary salon, from the atmosphere down to the techs. My tech was meticulous in cutting my cuticles and making sure the shellac polish was perfect on my nails and not on my fingers. The hand massage at the end was amazing. I was here on vacation, to spend time with family. I went to get my nails filled and get a pedicure. They did the pedicure first, then I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me! So they did my nails... not a very good job, but it worked because I was in a hurry. 4 days later, one just popped off! Now it's the weekend, and they are closed and I can't get it fixed. Although I received a descent French pedicure yesterday, I need to say that if you go here & you aren't a regular...be careful. Don't get the salt scrub... Not only was it painful.... It was bright orange & it stained my calves & the bottom of my feet & ankles!! I don't normally have to go straight home after a pedicure on a Friday night and have to remove dye from my legs & feet! I was supposed to go out & yet I couldn't... It looked as if I had a really bad fake tan applied to me. Today is the second day & I'm still trying to remove the orange dye. It is coming off slowly but also turning my white towels orange in the process. I hope it comes out.. I'm not happy at all! read more
