I went here because I had been shopping in the area and had little time to look for a place before going away on a trip the next day. I saw wonderful reviews on YELP and after a long day of errands with my mom I decided to treat her to a pedi, that I then got for myself as well, and a full set gel for myself. The place was IMMACULATE in cleanliness, when it came time for my full set the man even pulled out a new bag of sanitized tools. However, the set was awful. He did my nails EXTREMELY thick as in I couldn't open a pop can or pick up change off a counter for two weeks thick, and after curing them he noticed a mistake, filed it down leaving a scar on the smooth overlay, and covered it with nail polish. The polish bubbled up. And also the place has probably the smallest selection of polishes I've witnessed, especially for a place that seems to cater to the "white suburban wealthy crowd." Two little girls were getting pricey mani/pedis and took the colors I had been looking at, leaving me with a color I wanted to change as soon as I got home. I can't believe I paid over $40 dollars for such a horrible job. I was to say, however, that pedicure WAS very nice and three weeks later still looks great, the chairs were a bit intense in massage settings and sadly I'm too tall to really enjoy the areas that it worked on the most, but that's on me. I hadn't left the house planning on a pedi so unfortunately I was wearing tight jeans which made the calf massage less enjoyable. I will never go back, I was so upset and felt like I had wasted good money when I could have gone somewhere else if I had more time, paid half and gotten much better results. read more

I'm a guy and a Diabetic so I take care of my feet. My niece recommended this place and I have to say this was a great experience. From the moment I walked in they treated me great. The girl made me feel comfortable and told me many men go there and she expected to see me regularly. (in a nice way) to keep my feet looking good. Beware if you go on the weekend... This place is nuts. Every time we have tried to go without appointments we have wound up waiting a half hour or more. And to boot it's not like you are waiting for the best pedicure of your life. A pedicure by itself is $35 and if you want them to use the scraper on the dry skin on your heels it's an extra $5. So typically you are paying $40 for a pedi that you had to wait a half hour to even get. The last time we went they told us it would be a 10 minute wait. After 40 minutes we walked out. I'm giving them 3 stars because of how clean this salon is and their staff is friendly but in my opinion this place is not worth the wait. Also, not sure what's up with the ventilation here but you know that salon smell? The smell of chemicals? It's always SO strong here. Given this salon several chances and each time my no chip chips within a few days. This time it's been 3 days and my manicure is chipping. Can't go back in for a fix because I'm traveling. Everyone that works here is very nice but the quality is not worth the price. Also cash only tips is a bit outdated...they now have an atm in the salon but you will pay fees. read more

A friend and I went here because we had heard a lot of hype about it. When we got there, the place was packed. We didn't make appointments because we were told they accept walk-ins. I was told to pick a color and wait (I just wanted a regular manicure). My friend, who wanted a gel mani, got to sit at the pedicure chair, and someone did her nails over there. That was kind of odd. By the time I had gotten to see someone, she was halfway done with her nails. The gentleman who did my nails made them a little crooked (he filed them in a square shape), and the paint on some of them didn't reach the exact side of my nails. He was polite and we had a good conversation, but the odd thing was that he told me that he didn't want to stay in the nail business forever. I found that to be a turn-off. The thing that I did like about Magic Nails was the fact that the nail tech used a fresh, just-opened set of tools on my hands. That was really nice. However, the nail polish I picked was old; the actual polish was very thick, and it was difficult for the tech to gather on the brush. The process was very in-and-out, and I feel as though I was making the tech do my nails when he didn't want to. Overall, I wouldn't go to this place again. I'd prefer to go to a place that didn't make me feel like I was on an assembly line. read more

First time I've visited this nail salon, and definitely the last. Cut my finger and it wouldn't stop bleeding. He told me I had a hang nail and that's why it's bleeding, and that next time I go I should let them know I have a hang nail.... really?!?! He cut my skin I don't have a hang nail! Surely your professional nail technicians can see hang nails? This technician needs glasses I'm just hoping it's not infected, it's been throbbing for over 12 hrs! $50..... plus a $10 tip... Great experience, very relaxing. I've had a manicure at the Willowbrook Magic Nails, but this was a first for a pedicure at the Countryside location. Brand new place, everything was clean, and new utensils were opened for my pedicure. It took an hour, I was pleased with that. Who wants to be in a rush while being pampered? Pedicure, leg massage, hot towels and finally polish. The regular pedicure is $30 and they currently have a 20% off promotion going on for the grand opening. I don't feel the cost is all that high. I've been to nail salons and spas where a simple pedicure costs over $50 and you don't get nearly the pampering. I think this was perfect for the service and fee charged. Very comfy chairs with massage and vibration settings via remote control. Spiffy. Could use a little more of a color selection, mostly OPI bottles. I personally like Essie too, and actually had an Essie color in mind that I wanted, but no biggie. I found a pink suitable for spring! Will be going back for sure...and maybe one day my nails will be long enough for one of the no-chip manicures. read more

This place is not what it used to be. I used to come here every Monday to get a pedicure I started going somewhere else because the nail techs don't seem like they even care to give you a decent service. This Thursday I got a full set and their most expensive pedicure. I made an appointment on Tuesday, for that Thursday so it bewilders me why she was 10 min late. I showed her the picture of what I wanted and described to her that the shape of the nail was what I liked I also explained that I wanted my cuticles trimmed so my nails have a fresh new look. I feel that for a $70 full set this should be included. She glued a few of the nails on crooked and they weren't even filed evenly when she did the no chip topcoat there were bubbles in the polish. The pedicure was 2 hours of pain! The guy who did my pedicure seemed like he had smoked a pound of weed before work. I asked for the hot stone ($65) pedicure with French polish. He exfoliated in the same spot over and over and hardly rubbed the hot stones on me. I felt like I was telling him how to do his job the entire time I was there. He didn't buff my nails, or clean under them. The next day I felt my feet and they were rough which makes sense because he also never used the pumice. This guy didn't even know how to do the French polish and had to call over a co-worker she had a hard time drawing the French probably because the surface of the nail wasn't smooth. My bill for a crappy set and a not relaxing pedicure was $140 of which none of it they refunded. I went in today to have my set taken off and she said she'd fix it and refused to reimburse me at all she did an alright job but I feel like I should have never had to go back. I don't love my nails and I feel cheated. Especially with the pedicure. read more

I tried magic nails because Everyone loves it but unfortunately I had a bad experience.I got a no chip manicure it cost 43 dollars and it wasn't great. The color was uneven and blotchy,possibly the brand of polish wasn't great? And then it started lifting and chipping on the edges in a few days. Definitely not worth the $50 bucks. read more

I like the special touch of the hot towels, too. Prices are spot on and not inflated. They've got a good OPI color selection and they do a great job. I found this place on Yelp. I was a walk in, so I figured it would be a little while before I was seen. I was seen ten minutes after I arrived. The woman who did my gel set was awesome! She took into consideration that I have Rheumatoid arthritis in my right hand. She was very careful, attentive and friendly. It's been a few years since I've been to this location. I used to come every 2 weeks. I stopped getting my nails done for a while. Now I wanted to start doing it since I'm working again. I figured go to the spot I know. Well it's definitely changed. Not nearly as good as I remember it. It's still clean. The work I had was a little rough. It came out nice, just took the guy yanking on my cuticles, cutting me several times. My sister had a better experience with a different tech. My tech didn't even talk to me. He didn't understand when I asked for one nail to be a different color. I skipped going to J Nails in countryside to go here but I might have to go back to J nails because of the friendliness and equal work. read more

Came in for the first time a couple weeks ago for a dip mani and a pedi , came in today to get a nail fixed where the powder starting coming up and my hair was getting under it only to find that I had gotten a fungus on my nail only for them to claim nail discoloration from the powder . Umm no that's because they don't disinfect your nails before they did them . Then the nail tech goes on to dip my finger in the powder back on my nail with the fungus on it !! SHE STILL DIDNT DISINFECT IT BEFORE PUTTING IT IN THE POWDER AND "PAINTING" THE BASE COAT ON !! NEVER coming back! Being a guy i was worried about the looks i would get walking in there. But to my surprise it was really nice. The place was full of women so i had to wait. It took them about 45 and it was awesome! I'm so excited to find out that this is the same owner as the magic nails as on Kingery in Willowbrook! Their pedicures are ahmaaazzzing!!! They use these warm towels after the massage that is just awesome! The girls are really nice and will do anything that you need. Prices are great and reasonable! I also have had my eyebrows waxed here and Anna was so great! She even suggested that I keep my natural shape and she just cleaned my brow space instead of overwaxing. The salon is beautiful on the inside and meticulously clean. I would recommend it! read more

The manicurist passed the filing rotator over my fingers 3 times during my dip manicure. I also had to return the next day to fix two nails that were extremely bumpy. When leaving I expected for them to refund me the cost of a horrible experience and manicure. The receptionist response was "well no". So it's my birthday week and I obviously needed a mani & pedi, drove to this nail salon I've been going to for years now. It's a good salon too & everything, I have nothing bad to say about them but I'm convinced this place was better. This salon was closed today for some odd reason but I needed them done today so I googled salons around me and went based off the star ratings & peoples reviews, this place sounded like it would be the best choice & it was. Walked in and was in the pedi chair working 5 min, also my boyfriend who was getting his as well. At every other place I've gone to they've done my pedi first then once they're done walk over to the mani table but not here. The man who did my pedi did a great job, not to mention the amazing foot massage. Felt completely relaxed, then the mani girl came over to me while still on the pedi chair & she started doing my nails right there and then. For not having a table to do them on she did a great job at a great speed, her hand massage was on point too, felt even more relaxed. For about a year my BF and I were regular customers. I never felt "comfortable" there. NOT ALL the techs are rude, but I'd say the majority are. Not just rude, but arrogant. Logistically, we couldn't possibly have had only the rude techs in almost in a year going there. If I were to point out one tech who is particularly rude, it would be "Don." I had him one time and he acted like he was doing ME a favor by doing my nails! He didn't attempt to converse, which was fine with me, but simply asking me something referring to the procedure, he asks in a rude, snippy way. One time I went by myself and a woman around 39 sat on my left, and "Don" was her tech. This young woman was on the plump side, but quiet and she seemed nervous and didn't understand all of Don's questions. It was the way he'd ask them that was irritating. He'd snap the questions at her, and if he had to repeat himself, he'd get angry, barely controlling his temper to ask her again. This poor woman grew more nervous and I started to stare at him. I didn't look away until he looked up at me. I told him, "She can't understand you and I don't either. You don't need to talk to her like that." I guess my saying something did the trick, he spoke slower and not as gruff. Another time when I sat next to "Don" he began singing familiar tunes in Vietnamese, songs by Elvis and the Beatles. His songs had my tech and others laughing. The red-faced, can't breathe, tears down their faces kind of laughter. But the tech to my right kept shaking her head angrily. She and a handful of techs were clearly not amused. This went on for twenty minutes until the "manager" walked over and said something to "Don" in Vietnamese. it sounded like the manager was angry. Another time, when my mani-pedi was done, I sat next to my BF as she had her nails done by a young, female tech. This tech chattered to us non-stop. She pointed out a male tech across the room as her uncle, whom she'd married to get into the states. She didn't live with him but still had sex with him. Then she showed us photos on her iPhone of several parties where she and other girls were dressed in costume. But the costumes were right out of the pages of one of those really smutty magazines. Not the sexy nurse costume for Halloween you can get at Kmart. They all wore bikinis with tassels and cats ears and lots of "extra" skin showing. I said, "I don't want to see your photos." BF was worried, the girl was a victim of sex trafficking. But I NEVER got that impression; she smirked and laughed, seemingly amused at shocking us with her raunchy photos and stories. A friend showed me an app that can record foreign conversations and translate them later. The next time, and LAST TIME BF and I went, I sat next to "Don" who worked on a middle-aged, plump and somewhat quiet woman. No singing today, Don entertained the other techs with endless comments I just knew were not good. I pulled out the phone and recorded some of what he said. If you ever wondered if they talk about their clients, they do. "Don," said in Vietnamese all kinds of terrible things about his client...and ME and American women in general. To be honest, some of his words "untranslatable", but most was. He said his client's body had an odor like she hadn't bathed. Why don't American women take baths, they always had body odor, and (this one actually shocked me and I don't shock easy) especially between the legs the odor was bad, not bathing or no bathing liquid which I think meant soap. He never saw attractive American women; they are fat pigs, eat too much food, and are all ugly. He mentioned singers and actresses I recall Brittney Spears, Rhianna and Beyonce, and how they weren't attractive at all. The bottom line is most of what he said was along this line said in a way in Vietnamese that was amusing, because the other techs nearby were laughing. Not all, but enough of them that I felt the dislike of American women was the general consensus. BF and I discussed playing the translated version to the manager but decided why bother? Read other reviewers comments about this place, the manager doesn't care. He never said anything criminal in nature so we couldn't complain to the police. I called the Better Business Bureau... can't even get thru there. This is why I'm posting here, I use Yelp all the time before buying or eating or using services and decided this is the place to let people know. If you doubt my story, get the App and do a test run for yourself. There are several options of apps out there. I WILL NEVER GIVE MY MONEY TO ANOTHER VIETNAMESE SALON AGAIN. NEVER. I will happily pay extra to get my mani-pedis in an American salon. read more

Tried giving this place a chance from my other nail salon but you can never get in here as a walk in because they are always so busy. The one time I did manage to get my no chip mani done they lasted about 5 days before starting to chip. On a positive note, it's clean and they have a lot of colors to choose from, don't come as a walk in unless you have time to kill. read more

Never have matching no chip manicure polish with regular nail polish for toes but they say they do when you walk in hands and feet will match never and it takes another hh of them mixing polishes to get something similar which they complain the whole time for fixing read more
