Mike came to the Veterans Hall in Gilroy for their Christmas party. At first when I was told that "Magic Mike" was coming for a kids show, I said , "Ummmmm, that's not appropriate for kids. That is for adults." The guy apparently had not heard of Magic Mike the movie. Anyways, yes this definitely was a kids show, not adult lol. He walked around the room showing trick to kids. Mike performed for ~200 adults and kids at Galileo Preschool's annual alumni luau. It was a super hot day, but Mike still came is his full magician outfit! The kids were mesmerized by the tricks and they couldn't stop laughing at all of Mike's jokes!! Omg, I can't believe it has been a whole year and I am only now writing a review for Magic Mike... He was the main attraction at my son's 6th birthday party and EVERYONE LOVED him and his little bunny! +1's: - I called several entertainers and he was the most assuring, informative, and yes CALMING, one I spoke to, which, aside from the reviews on Yelp, really helped me with my decision. - He showed up early, had appropriate jokes, was very interactive with all (20+) kids (and adults), and even helped gather everyone inside for cake when it was ready. He even asked me ahead of time about the theme of the party, so that he could somehow try to incorporate a small part of that into his show. - We had a couple of really rowdy kids (who were a bit distracting...but hey, what do you expect with a bunch of 6 year olds, right?) but Magic Mike handled the situation perfectly and carried on with the show. He was not impatient with them and found a way to incorporate their...ummm...behavior into the show. - Hmmm...what else? Jokes, Balloons, puppet segment, magic - the show was entertaining from beginning to end, and everyone got to pet the bunny at the end. - I believe one of the other parents liked him so much that she even hired him for her twins birthday party that summer. Extra Plus: I will admit it. I won't even lie. I am one of those really annoying people who calls 2 weeks before, and then a week before, and then a couple of days before something is planned, and Magic Mike was truly very accommodating and patient with me, answering ALL my old and new questions every time. We had Magician Mike Stroud come out to the 2015 Holiday Party for the Burlingame Masonic Lodge. Magician Mike's show is a yearly repeat for our children's party, and every year we hear many complements from the children and parents. His show is interactive, and he asks for children to come up on stage to assist him. My kids, 5y/o and 3y/o, usually cannot sit through a magic show, as they don't typically grasp some of the tricks, but Magician Mike does make his tricks fun and easy to relate to for all ages. He is such a professional in all senses of the word. He's a master at off-the-cuff commentary about what's happening around him. Money well spent--love, love, love! He "brought down the house" as one of my guests shared with her friends. And, my daughter, who turned 7, said it was the best birthday party ever! We actually had Magic Mike to her 7th birthday in September of last year, so I am delayed in my review. It would have been easy to say "forget it" as I usually don't write reviews on Yelp--but, I felt I had to get this review posted as he so deserves it! For starters, Magic Mike is professional to the nth degree. We had many communications before hand as I had lots of questions. I did not have a referral so I was a little nervous (how would he look in person, would he be on time, would he show up, would he be good with the kids). I had a group of 25 girls + a bunch of moms. He came to the pizza parlor and did a fantastic job! I'm not sure what I'm happier with--the performance or his professional demeanor through all of our conversations. Also, my daughter is a little bit shy--he brought her up several times and let her be the center of the stage. At a couple of turns the kids were getting too crazy with excitement and I asked them to "show respect"--it was a little mommy-like of me--but he quickly turned it into a joke and had the kids laughing again. He is good impromtu--you don't need to worry. He was also gracious as I felt the venue was too warm...but he did not complain and put on a great show.
