To type out my three hour experience would drive me nuts and I want to forget it completely. let's just say my nails were ALL jacked up, so many mistakes, took 3 hours AND it wasn't even done. In my opinion if your eyebrows don't look good, then you don't look good. I've been obsessed with perfect eyebrows since I was in middle school. I grew up in NJ and went to the same woman for 6 years who did the BEST job and gave my eyebrows the BEST shape (or so I thought). When I moved to CA I went to a salon in Studio City and they butchered my eyebrows, I was embarassed to even leave the house. After I let my 'brows grow back in I pulled together the strength to finally let someone touch them once again. I searched high and low all over yelp and then I came across Magic Touch and all of Mariam's wonderful ratings and beautiful compliments- I thought I'd give it a shot. I have never been SO happy with the look of my eyebrows and never felt so beautiful. She tweezed my eyebrows to perfection and manages to do it time and time again with NO pain. She's very quick and very accurate. I have NEVER left her room feeling unsatisfied. I'm complimented on my eyebrow shape and look all the time by friends, coworkers, and strangers. I don't even have the words to tell you how good she is, you just need to try for yourself and I promise you will NOT be let down. read more

I went to Mariam for my first LA-area bikini waxing, and was overall pleased with the service, but I likely will not be a return customer. I called Saturday morning and was booked an appointment just an hour or so later, and was quickly greeted and taken back for my waxing. Everything went smoothly (no pun intended) and Mariam is a very friendly, talkitive lady. She included a hug before and after my waxing. I'm not really a people person, and could have gone with out the space invasion, but to each their own. I'm giving an 'average' rating of 3 stars. She used plain tissues between my underwear and the wax and there were bits stuck to me until my next shower. I also had to tweeze a few areas where the waxing was unevenly done. Although I am not a frequent waxee, it was way more painful than my previous wax, and the salon/store was certainly a no-frills place. However, she gave me a "first-time" client deal of $15, which is amazing. read more

Inside this place is beauty chaos! Nail lady in one corner, a man getting a facial in another. A blonde lady getting a blow out across from a black guy getting a fade. And then there was me, breezing into the middle of the room with eyebrows as crazy as the Wild Wild West. I was on my way to girls night and knew I had to get re-arched before we hit the town. I found this place here on Yelp and since they offered threading, I figured I'd give it a shot since I was in the area. The salon is in a shopping center of fof Reseda Bld - you probably won't see it from the street. Turn into the parking lot with the Winchells Donuts, and it's a few shops down on the left. Miriam is very friendly and easy to talk with. She didn't really thread me the way I expected...instead she mostly tweezed my eyebrows and did some light threading at the end. I was worried I wasn't going to get the finished look I wanted, but my eyebrows looked FANTASTIC! I've never seen them look so clean after being tweezed, and it hurt LESS than threading!! I paid $15 which is higher than the threading prices, but I was really happy with the finished result. I would love to see her again if I'm deep in the Valley!! read more

I'm a little perplexed as to why this place has such high ratings. In fact, if the average rating was four stars, I probably wouldn't bother to write this review, but now I feel like someone has to share a different viewpoint. First of all, the space is strange. I don't get it. Is it a store? Unisex hair salon? I think I may even have seen a jewelry counter. I went there to get my eyebrows done and honestly, it was one of the most painful experiences I've had in a long time. I actually bled on both brows. The lady who did the job, Miriam, was also adamant that next time she should color my brows too. I really wasn't interested in it, but somehow I didn't feel comfortable discussing it since I was in a chair out in the open without any privacy. My first experience at Magic Touch was fabulous. I felt like one of the club, happy to take the deal on the mani-pedi while I waited for my walk-in waxing slot to open up with Miriam. My nail girl was very good. I enjoyed her energy, and she helped me select a color after far too much agonizing on my part. Miriam did a lovely job, and charged me next to nothing. She is pretty and funny and encourages comfort in an awkward position. My second experience was much different. Even though I had an appointment, Miriam acted as though she didn't have time for me. She gave me a different shape than I asked for (I got a brazilian. Asked for a triangle. Got a landing strip........) And left an indecent number of ugly strays. Even though she still charged me next to nothing, I will not be going back. Sophomoric behavior isn't acceptable in my book. read more

My experience at this place was very bad. I went there to buy a Wella color to retouch my ombré home. All I needed was a copper color. That's all. The lady who helped me agreed with me on the color chart. but she ended up giving me a burgundy red. I said that was not the color we agreed. She said that If I was going to mix the two burgundy colors together with the developer, the result was going to be exactly what I wanted. I bought this at 7 pm and I had an important social event the morning before, so I couldn't mess it up. Result: my hair turned out a burgundy-purple color! It was unacceptable!!! Terrible color that it didn't even make sense with the color of my roots and my skin/eyes tone. ...A total nightmare!! I called asking for my money back, because I was totally unhappy with my color: no money back: $30 wasted. Since I see a lot of good ratings, the people who work at this store/salon might not be that bad.... this was just my experience after all. 2 stars because she was nice to me. Here goes! I usually don't write reviews on Yelp. I have an account because my sister has one and she's a Yelper. I usually used Yelp as a research tool for recommendations and don't write any reviews. I found this place on groupon and wasn't sure if I should buy the coupon or not until I looked it up on Yelp. After reading all the reviews, I decided to purchase the coupon. Got to the salon and was greeted immediately by one of the stylist and immediately by Mariam. She greeted me and gave me a hug and a peck on the cheek which was kinda weird because I never hug a stranger before. But when you get to know her and talk to her its just her personality. Mariam is extremely friendly which is an A+ for customer service. Waxing vs. threading: I got my eyebrows waxed before it was sooo painful. I came out of the salon with red painful burning blotches and had to cool it down with cold water and lotion. I don't know how Mariam does it but it was painless. A+ for not hurting your client. I got my eyebrows threaded before at the Northridge mall, the lady that was doing my eyebrows ignore me the whole time and was talking to her friend while she was threading my eyebrows. One side was shorter than the other side. There was pain but it was bearable. She collected my money and moved on to the next customer. But Mariam is totally opposite. She focus on my eyebrows one at a time from side to side and gave me recommendations according to the shape of my face. We talked about several different things such as the issues that I have with eyebrows, how it grows back pretty fast, and how I should shape it. She's very attentive and very warm, A+ for that. She gave me a hug again after the session was over. This time it wasn't as weird as the first time. Overall experience was Awesome! would go back again after the groupon expires! My wife and my "special-needs" 15 year old daughter went in to have their nails done, it was their third time there... My daughter has a tic, and she has to give out a little high pitch noise once in a while! specially when she is excited for something, and she was excited that time, BECAUSE she was going to have her pedi and manicure! Less than 5 minutes had passed since they got there, had her feet in the tub, and the owner called out to the person taking care of them, speaking in their language, complaining about my daughters little noise! My wife could tell that it was something about my daughter because of her body language! She came out and stared at my daughter as if she was some kind of weird being! We are used to people staring at her, as she is a 6 foot girl! but as it turns out, she walked by just to see "who" was making that noise! My daughter can not control that! but it is not as bad as someone who has turret syndrome or someone speaking loud! she simple has to do her noise! Long story... they were asked to leave without having their nails done! because the owner complained that "customers were complaining" but there were not a lot of customers there to complain!!! All of this was confirmed by their manicurist, who told my wife that she could not performed the services they needed, because her boss had complained about my daughter. Do they not serve people with disabilities? is that not a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act? or do they NOT care about people with special needs? I believe that businesses should be more tolerant of special needs people, because the pay is the same for a set of nails... whether from a normal or not person!!! read more

I liked the woman, Maryam, she was very nice and she works pretty fast! I had some hair waxed and, honestly, she takes way too much hair at once. I even told her that it hurts pretty much, but she said that it's much better to take more, so that it hurts only a few times. Well, this is what happened to me all the 3 times I went there: -the wax was too hot -Maryam puts the hot wax on the skin little by little, and it kinda cools down too much by the time she puts the fabric on the wax- which makes it hurt much more! -she pulled the fabric piece not quickly enough once or twice -the missed a little hair here and there -she would't really care to take out the ingrown hair. I am not saying that this is the worst place ever- but I've been to other places with much better service & quality of work! I just wanted to try the Magic Beauty salon and, unfortunately, I won't go back there for waxing anymore. read more

She said she wouldn't be able to fix it and I told her I'd like a refund as for I was going to someone else to fix my hair. I went in for a hair trim, bangs trained up and cut straight across in the back. Suri (the owner) cut my hair. If like to say I love Suri as a person , but her job on my hair is horrible! I trusted her while she was cutting, clearly she does know how to cut hair but for some reason this time , she did a horrible job. I paid 30$ for a very bad job. I am very dissatisfied and will not return to this salon, nor recommend it to anyone ! Very disappointed! I've been seeing Mariam for facials for over 3 years now. I've been meaning to write a review for a very long time now.. I don't do this often! I've had issues with blemishes for years (even though I'm 30 now) and have seen MANY facialists in the past. My biggest pet peeve is a facialist who doesn't really get into your skin and do good extractions. Mariam is amazing! She spends so much time on making sure your skin is perfect. It's completely obvious that she's a perfectionist, it comes across in how clean her facial room is and how amazing your skin looks after. I moved last year and live further and I still continue to go to her. Aside from being a perfectionist, she's incredibly professional and NEVER tries to rip her customers off. Also, the facials are very reasonably priced for what you get. She uses Dermalogica, which is a great name brand too. She's also such a sweet and nice person. First of all Nadia did really good job with leg waxing, so it not her fault. The owner used wax that was sitting there probably for years ago gave me bad rash in both of my legs.. I couldn't go to my regular salon, so I needs quick fix. Long story short .. all the interior is out of place , no manner, the owner open the door wide open when iam getting waxed. My first time at this salon was wonderful. Souri and her helpers fluttered around me, offering me things, checking frequently to make sure I'm happy, being extra nice and friendly, and giving me the exact hair color and blow dry I wanted. My second time however was very different. I came in to color my hair again and blow dry it straight. This time Souri was servicing several customers at once, and the helper girls ended up doing most of the work. Right from the start I asked for a hair color with no ammonia and peroxide. I was willing to go a shade darker than my natural color just to avoid the peroxide. Souri promised to use the semi-permanent color without peroxide or ammonia. As I was starting to get the color, I noticed it still smelled very strongly (I had a bad reaction last time). I asked again two more times if she was sure this hair color was peroxide-free. Souri said yes both times. Later, she admitted it wasn't. I was angry, but she said it was fine because it had peroxide that was "organic". Huh? Besides lying about the hair color, I was also disappointed in the coloring job itself. One of the other girls had originally divided my hair into sections, and proceeded to apply color to the roots. I have quite a few gray hairs, and the roots needed to be covered. A few minutes after, Souri came over and told the girl working on me to step away, then started applying the color not part by part but on the whole head (like shampoo). That made the coloring process very fast, but the results were bad. When I got home and moved the hair around, I saw that more than half of the gray roots didn't get covered. I was totally disappointed with my second experience. Souri cut corners, spent most of the time servicing other clients, and lied about the hair dye several times. I wish as much effort was spent on retaining a client as it was on getting one. I'm sad, because after the second experience I won't be returning. The ladies working there are very nice, and the prices are very reasonable. But the quality has to matter. read more

This is the very first review I have ever written but I am really upset I had to write about it. Let me just start off by saying that the haircut I got was really great and Farideh was very nice in person; however, she was very shady when it came to price. She had quoted me 35 over the phone and an extra 5 for a blow dry. I confirmed this over the phone but after I got my haircut she said it was 80. I felt trapped and finally settled for 62 even though that is a lot more than I was quoted. Normally, I would give a tip but I knew I was taken advantage of and that's not right. I will not go back and I will not recommend this to anyone of my friends or my followers. This is not a good way to do business. read more

My sister was very unhappy with the job they did.Soori quoted us $200 over the phone and when my sister was at the table she said a much higher amount. They were dramatic and made us feel uncomfortable like if we were the ones doing something wrong. Finally they agreed to the initial price but it was a struggle. My sisters eyebrows turned out really nice. However the color faded after 2 weeks later and she had to go back to using make up again . We were ok since they told us she could go and get a touch up after 2 weeks. The day of our appointment she text us to ask us in anyone told us about the touch up fee.$40. We said no so she told us that we had to talk to Soori. (Maybe she owns the place, unsure.) We felt it was exhausting to deal with this situation and cancelled the appointment. When I told Nassim, the girl that did the eyebrows about the fading she said it was normal? I'm not too sure about this. I think things would have easier if they were more upfront and clear with the fees and the product expectations. I feel bad about posting this review but they need to realize that customers have certain expectations and good communication can avoid misunderstandings.
