Carmella at Syndicate took me from brunette to blonde bombshell! So happy with her work. :)
    Kelley H.

Syndicate is a beautiful salon with a soothing, chic, and cozy atmosphere. Everyone there is sincere and very accommodating. It's clean, modern, and has the most comfortable waiting area. The receptionists are also very kind and professional. I've been to Carmela twice now and have had a phenomenal experience every time. When I first came to Carmela my hair was long and unhealthy with a botched hair cut. I didn't want to take off too much length, but wasn't sure what could be done with so much damage. She brought it back to life, keeping my locks long and gorgeous. Months after the hair cut, it grew out beautifully and kept it's shape. Carmela is fabulous at what she does and is very pleasant to talk to. I just saw her again a couple of days ago for another hair cut, except this time I wanted to chop it off completely. I haven't had short hair since I was 10 so I was a little freaked out about it. I cannot express how happy I am with this cut! Not only was it a wonderful and relaxing environment with Carmela, but her styling was spot on to the photo I showed her. That's another thing, I've never had a stylist that actually styles my hair amazingly. Normally I want to wash my hair the second I get home and get all the product and poofyness out of it. She is so great at what she does. I'm 150% satisfied with my visit to Carmela. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my hair! She is an amazing stylist. Not only does she take the time and effort to create what you really want, but she is genuine and great to talk to. She also keeps up with her education and takes classes every week to improve her already awesome skills and technique. I cannot wait until my next visit to Syndicate.

Sooo.. I've had the best experience with Sarah, she toned my blonde and bronze orange hair to a dark Smokey brown. I've gone to her twice already and she's always been so amazing! My hair is usually cut and colored somewhere else and it's long, thick and dry. Without any use of bleach she was able to maintain the dimension in my hair by toning and layering. She's and her assistant are the bomb I highly recommend this salon!

Amazing cut and color done by Kristen!!

I can't even begin to describe how much I love Kristen here at the salon!! I enjoy getting different cuts and different colors, and no one has ever understood my ideas more than Kristen. She is so nice, so talented, and the most important thing is that she loves what she does. I don't trust anyone else with my hair. Period. No one touches it but Kristen now haha! The whole salon is great. The receptionist is beyond darling, and they even take care of your meter if your time runs out during the appointment. So if you are looking for an amazing hair stylist that will actually understand what you want or even be talented enough to go outside the box, then get an appointment with Kristen! You will definitely not be disappointed!

Judge for yourself...Kristin and Brian's work...see review. This is after 2 tries and a "consult" with Brian the owner.

So after much thought I decided to post my full review of my experience here because I don't want anyone else to go through what I did after trusting Yelps reviews. I was encouraged to not post a review in exchange for a refund. Wonder if this has happened previously. It cost me over $520 (plus tip) to "correct" their color and cut....Yes, I am mad because of the added expense and damaged hair that had to be chopped off and packed weekly with coconut oil and deep conditioners mid-week for months now. I came in to Syndicate for cut and highlights for the first time. Kristen was very sweet and nice. Easy to talk to and seemed to care. The salon is also very modern and beautiful. I'm naturally a blond (Swedish) and like highlights to brighten it up. I always ask about the condition prior to getting my hair done and Kristen said my hair was healthy. I specifically said no ash, no toner and no yellow color when we looked at pictures. I ended up with ash blond highlights not to my scalp and colored darker roots. I left thinking maybe I'll like it better in other lighting and after I get used to it. My family instantly didn't like it and I agreed. I called only an hour after leaving to set up time to come back to hopefully fix it. 3 days later I went in and she ended up putting more highlights in it and toner. She charged me for toner and a blow dry! What?! I was pretty upset since I specifically said I do not want toner in my hair as it fades too fast. And now I got charged extra for you to fix it? ...even though you did not listen to my wishes in the first place? I then posted my review with pictures. The owner got involved and said he would fix my hair and hoped I would reconsider my review. I took it down in good faith because I know a business is only as good as its reputation and he was very convincing that he could fix it... I went back in and he conditioned my hair. that's it....and had me look at pictures of hair and choose what I liked. I showed him a picture of my hair on my phone....he took my phone without asking and walked away from me and showed his partner. They talked about me without me hearing..... Brian came back with my phone and said his partner likes my hair better than the model picture. Safe to say I didn't agree. He obviously could not touch my hair further due to the damage. I purchased and paid $60 for a deep colored conditioner to help improve my color and remove the ash. But I still walked out with hair color I specifically said I did not want...and damaged beyond repair. They went ahead and gave me credit for the toner and blow dry. Nice. I had to call and request refund for the first appointment and had to call my cc company to dispute the total amount. They only gave me partial refund. I waited 4 weeks and went to a Beverly Hills salon to see what they could do. They were horrified: highlights were not to my base and looked like 2 months of grow out, said toner is a shortcut to good color, said ash is not flattering on me AND is not my natural color as Brian had tried to convince me...The cutting specialist showed me how crooked my hair had been cut by Kristen and how damaged my hair was. He had to chop a lot of length off!...as in 4 inches! They instructed me to pack my hair in coconut oil once a week and sleep with saran wrap covering it and not shampoo it unless absolutely necessary. The damage done will take a long time to recover! The correction cost me over $500! I cannot with good conscience not leave my true experience at this salon including the owner's reaction and lack of remediation. Kristen was very apologetic which I appreciate. But the damage is done and I'm still dealing with it 3 months later.

    New bob!

She is so nice and explained the process of the donation and also provided guidance on selecting the best hair cut for me. After looking at a few photos, I decided to go with a moderate cut to ease back into the general population. I was so happy with the results and would recommend Yuki to any of my friends. She will only take appointments and is the busiest during the weekend. I said I had another appt after but that would be fine. I arrived and sat down and waited. They said I was checked in. I waited one hour before going to the front desk to say that now, I would not have time to do the appt because, as I told them, I would have to leave for another appt. I had allotted 2 hours and now there was only 1 hour left and I had not even been seen or sent for hair washing. All the while I waited, I could see Sal doing at least 2 other people's hair. When I asked the front desk if I could reschedule, they said they would talk to him. Several minutes passed. Sal was aware that I was there, but chose not to speak to me himself. He chose not to even take two minutes to face me and apologize. He was going to Mexico the next night, and could only offer the next day during hours I had to work. The salon manager apologized for Sal and offered another hair dresser. I have curly hair and want someone experienced in curly hair- especially when the haircut is right before my wedding and will cost hundreds of dollars. I think the worst part was that Sal was right there but simply didn't have the courtesy to apologize. I will never return to this salon. As for my wedding in two weeks, I have asked my makeup artist to help me find someone.

I found Anya on Reddit and came in on a nice Sunday to get a curly cut from her. She was super comfortable doing my hair and talking to me about what I wanted, and even made suggestions that went along with what my endgame was. I essentially told her I wanted to keep my bangs and my face framing little hair tendrils, and she can do what she wanted with the rest! From there, she asked questions such as how heavy my hair feels regularly/the last time I got it cut, if I like my hair to have volume or sit the way it is and mimicked with my hair how both versions looked, made observations and suggestions on where we could go. Honestly, this was the best experience I've had! She thinned out a lot of my hair as well since it gets pretty heavy for me, gave me a nice shape and my hair more personality, and even layers on the back to make everything more cohesive! Frankie was my wash tech (is that what they're called?) and she was great to talk to about books! She was also very cautious on making sure the water was just right for my scalp. Though when we rinsed with cold water it hit soooo good hehe.
