When I called, the representative told me I had to go into the clinic, request imaging and wait 30 min OR my doctor could fill out a form for imaging and it would take 30 days for them to get the information. None of this was communicated or stated in the mountains of paperwork I filled out, no one at the clinic made this clear or even said anything about how/when my orthopedist could get the results. Seems you get what you pay for. I should've paid more money to get better service and faster results from a reputable hospital like Stanford. I never would've known any of this had I not called and therefore Castro Valley Open MRI just keeps your money and your records and does nothing else to help you as a patient. I've been trying to reach the clinic for nearly a week and NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE. Where are all the operators? I try calling in all different hours of the day hoping to get someone. I've only gotten someone to pick up the phone ONCE. They transferred me to the wrong department. I call back again and they AGAIN transferred me to ANOTHER wrong department. I gave up for that day. Since then, I have been on hold for nearly an hour each time I call in, and no operator will pick up the phone. I've had an urgent referral sent over and can't even reach anyone to make an appointment. I've been to other Stanford Health clinics and didn't have this kind of experience. Too bad this Emeryville clinic location is the only one that has the center that I need. I am shocked at how horrible the staffing is here and I haven't even visited this location physically yet. When I booked the appointment I was told on the phone that my husband couldn't be in the room with me since the ultrasound room was "too small". When I came for my appointment, I saw the room is pretty big and even has chairs. I was disappointed my husband wasn't able to be with me for our first ultrasound for our first baby. On top of that, the technician wasn't very nice and immediately told me "I'm not telling you anything and you won't be getting any ultrasound pictures". She wouldn't let me even view the screen throughout the ultrasound. She hardly spoke to me the entire hour I was in there. It was such a disheartening experience not even getting to see my own baby. After my abdominal ultrasound, she didn't leave the room for me to undress. I felt completely violated and uncomfortable. She didn't even turn around when I had to wipe myself after the vaginal ultrasound. It was disgusting of her. How unprofessional. I will NEVER come back to this place.

If you hate your job, maybe you shouldn't be the one checking in people. My check in experience was just terrible. I felt talked down to while the entire time this girl was so incompetent. I knew she was charging me incorrectly and I brought it up. However, seems she didn't really care and was getting annoyed. I was getting nowhere with her and obviously had to get the imaging done so I just had to suck it up. Never did she offer any info on how to contact billing until I asked. Next was the imaging order. Not sure why they don't have it already but I only have an electronic copy. So I mentioned that and asked if I can email it. Again she acted all snobby and acted as if I was asking the most obvious question. As if I knew the answer already on where to email it to vs uploading it into my user portal. As I was waiting, I noticed this terrible attitude given towards other check in patients. Everyone received that cold, snobby attitude. So I guess it was nice that I wasn't targeted, but she really should not be there if she has such a terrible attitude. Although I had an appointment, they weren't on time but at least this tech has way better manners. However, no one told me during the appointment booking or when I was confirming my appointment to come in without emptying my bladder and it was to be done right before imaging. Seems such important info if it was that critical for imaging, should really be known to patients beforehand. So guess what. I awkwardly tried to sit on the toilet trying to pee for a period of time cause every normal person goes at home before leaving the house. As I was finally done with my appointment. I noticed they changed people at the check in counter. This other girl seems way nicer and more patient with those checking in regardless if they are able to communicate or not due to a language barrier.
