In the greater LKN area, there's a nail salon in every shopping center and the stakes are high. How does Magnolia Nails stand out? The quality of service and speed. I've gotten a full set of pink/white (powder) in less than an hour and it was amazing work. Mind you, the opposite is also true and I've seen manicurists give groups time and space in other instances (group pedis etc.) but I sincerely value the speed and efficiency of their staff. Things to remember: -Tip w/cash. There is now an ATM on the premises. -Make an appt. even if it's same day, that will just ensure the best visit. -Ask about nail art/options. I've been a steady customer at Magnolia Nails for 2 years..always enjoyed their pedicures however, my last two pedicures were awful. I now have an abrasion on my big toe because she was too rough with the pumice stone. I also have noticed that the girl that checks you in has been as welcoming as the plague. I really wanted to like them the atmosphere is really welcoming. It's a nice place but if ur nail breaks even if you had your nails done the same day or yesterday their going to charge you saying it's ur fault. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! I came in to have a gel manicure removed, and a French gel mani done, and my sister came to have her SNS manicure redone. Upon arrival the place was well decorated and inviting and the girl at the front was very friendly, quickly seating us at stations and asking us if we wanted anything to drink. So all was well until the actual service started. My tech put foil on my nails to remove the gel as usual, but then she disappeared for at least 15-20 minutes. All the while I'm back at the station concerned that the acetone shouldn't be soaking into my nails that long. I warned her as she began to scrape the gel off that I have thin nail beds and I get cut very easily. She pretty much ignored me and roughly filed off the old gel, ravaging my cuticles in the process. Meanwhile, my sister had been soaking her nails in acetone as instructed, and a female nail tech came by to give her a paper towel and instructed her to "scrub them off". My sister, confused as she was, obeyed, and by the end of it her nails and fingers were covered in the remnants of RED SNS powder. Her hands looked as though they were covered in blood. What gets me about that really though is that they charged her for the removal, when really, she did it herself. They also refused to clean the mess off of her skin until she had asked about 3 times. Her mani turned out bumpy and thick and because she chose white they turned out slightly pink due to the terrible new application and lack of effort to remove the old color at all. What was also infuriating was that he tried to laugh it off every time she tried to ask him to fix the terrible job he was doing, and at one point even chastised her for having scrubbed off the original color (as she'd been told to do by another employee) Overall would never wish this nail experience on anyone. It's really sad too cause it seems like there are a couple people who really want to do well, and then some who perform as though they have never been trained how to do their job at all. read more

Amazing service!!! Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Was greeted by a nice young man and sitted immediately. Was offered wine or alcohol mixed drink. They have a "bar area" setup. Nail technician was very attentive to my needs and how I wanted my nails to look. He was very funny!!! Ended up getting hands and feet serviced. It was nice the drying table had warm air blowing on my feet. Massage chairs/pedicure chairs made my Back and thighs feel so much better. This place is so nice clean and Relaxing!!!!! Everything is shiny and new and you they make you feel like a queen. This is definitely a place to come if you wanted to be pampered. I ended up having 3 mimosas :) even thou they are 5 star they are not super expensive. read more

I have been to Magnolia many times and have had a problem every single time. Waiting an hour, treated very poorly and I never end up getting exactly what I asked for. BUT I will never forget the time when I was in the middle of getting my nails done and the man got up, looked at me and said ill be right, im going to get lunch and walked out the doors. Very wide open inside, clean interior and friendly staff. They have plenty of space and chairs for customers, and a pretty nice bar too. Enjoyed being here. Prices are $15 for a manicure, $35 for a gel, and $26 for a simple pedicure. They also have other options in addition. read more

I regret not reading all of their bad reviews before I went. I made an appointment ahead (recommended), but waited over 30 minutes after initially being completely ignored. The pedicure was okay, but the water was cold and it took 1.5 hours for a mediocre job. The worst of it was having to wait another 30 minutes then getting cut multiple times after being told while I had an appointment the manager "doesn't look at her book". Bad service, terrible manicure with blood and a rude attitude on top of it. Rushed, bad quality and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. read more

Great nail salon! Very clean and professional. I got the SNS with Sarah a few times, her attention to detail was wonderful. It always lasted over 2 weeks and my nails has never been healthier! Love this place but they do recommend tips in cash form and will direct you to the ATM if you say you only have a debit card. read more

I received a regular manicure. My manicurist was absolutely awesome. She was extremely nice. I originally wanted a gel manicure and she thought the regular manicure was better for the health of my nails at this time. She was more concerned about the health of my nails rather than an unnecessary upgraded service. They accept credit cards but you cannot add tip. Tips are done by cash or check. Keep that in mind. I had to go to Harris Teeter to get cash and come back and tip I will definitely return. I had a great experience! read more

Walked in on a Saturday morning and they were busy but not crazy, so I was able to get in for a pedicure and SNS manicure. The inside is pretty and they have a little drink menu so you can have wine, mimosas, etc. Yes please! Good selection of SNS colors. I'm pleased with my pedicure and really liked the SNS too-its not thick at all, and Hannah (I think was her name?) really took her time doing them. I've had pedicures, regular manicures, as well as gel manicures here and have never had a bad experience. There are days you have to wait because it's packed with people, but they always have enough nail techs working to compensate for the rushes they tend to get. I came in to get a eyebrow wax after 3 months of not having them done. She asked me how I wanted them shaped. I told her I wanted an arch, not round. So of course she gives me what I specifically told her I didn't want. They are noticeably unevenly shaped and one is much longer than the other. I told her they were uneven and she walks out the room complaining in her native language to the staff. The bottom line is there was 3 months worth of hair for her to work with. I asked for my daughter to get a mani/pedi and she immediately showed me the menu for all of the premium pedicures, not even mentioning the express pedicure. My daughter was the first to sit for her mani/pedi but the last to finish out of her group of 6 friends. Apparently her technician kept getting up and leaving to help ring up customers or help out another technician. Finally, her nails were cut/filed down to different lengths. I went into Magnolia Nails about 2 weeks ago and I will never return. Employees seemed to just want to get it done already and we're rushing around. I was getting my acrylics done and the lady doing my nails continuously cut the skin around my nails while filing and got alcohol in the cuts and that was excruciatingly painful. Never again. This is my go-to nail salon in Cornelius. I've tried at least 4 others in the area and no one measures up. They are efficient, the location is chic, and the price is right. Not to mention they offer you a refreshing drink once they have you seated (for a pedicure.) I've rarely had to wait, and everyone has been nice. I had 2 very good experiences here and then a bust. On my third visit I came in to get a set done. The gentlemen who started my nails obviously didn't know what he was doing and kept ripping my nails off with the fake nails. Then he actually splits my 3rd nail. Doesn't apologize one time. And the entire time he tells me how much he hates doing this. So I kindly asked for someone else to do my nails, feeling he doesn't know what he is doing and has now actually messed up my real nail and caused me a decent amount of pain. (To add he also didn't even let me go wash the blood off of my finger! Just glues a clear fake nail to it! And didn't clean his supplies after my blood got on them!) Then a girl who I assume was the manager came over and did my nails. In which they are all different lengths, shapes and sizes! And did not do them the way I asked her to do them. The part that really irritates me is; they don't even apologize one time about anything! When you hurt someone like that at least apologize! Then they tell me it's my fault that they did my nails wrong, and then had the audacity to charge me full price. I 100% will NEVER come back here. read more

I got a custom pedicure and French shellac manicure. Tammy and Cindy were fantastic! I loved how everything turned out. The salon is spacious and looks great. She did a horrible job, was extremely rough on my nails, they looked terrible and I had to get a manager to come over, soak the SNS off and do gel instead. I was there for nearly 3 hours. The manager who helped recover the situation was absolutely lovely and the gel looks wonderful 2 weeks later but I would never see Cam if you try this Salon. read more

Completed my paperwork had my temperature taken....there were at least 12 people waiting to be seated....after standing for 10 minutes and observing the people that were seated were also waiting for service - it was clear they were very far behind. It's completely unacceptable in this environment to subject people to wait times and longer than needed seat time. The explanation I received was that they "can't control when people call out to work". I got this young man. First time around he was being so tough on my nails and hurting me and then he didn't even bother to ask me if I was happy with what he did. Only put a coat so it was very faded and horrible looking. So I had to have him come back to redo it and he went even more harder on my nails with my cuticles inflamed and was such a jerk. Ok, I am still trying to decide if I like them or not. I have had two good and two bad visits. Sometimes my gels last two weeks and sometimes not. Now the places is beautiful but I often feel they don't really like the customer. I had a mother daughter team and the mother gave me some odd vibes. She spoke in another language all the time to her daughter who then said her mother said she had big boobs(which she did not) and i was wondering if she was talking about me. So since I spent 120.00 to get my nails done with tip, I think I will try a few more places. I keep thinking back to the Seinfeld episode where they are all talking behind Elaines back and would rather not the the ridiculed client. since I don't understand and they chose not to speak English, i will look for a place that allows the clients to hear what they are saying. Oh plus the mother filed down my nails way past what I woudl have liked. The problem of getting two things done at once and not paying attention. So wish I did not leave a 20.00 tip.
