Krystal NAILED it. I was recommended to her by someone local in a Facebook group. I am trying to grow out my gray and had an obvious gray to colored hair line in my hair that I was definitely tired of. I wanted to blend the gray into the bottom of my hair to look a bit more natural. Originally, the full idea would have a bit out of my budget, but Krystal came up with another idea to do some 'baby' highlights (highlighting just the top layer of my hair) to pull the grayish color through. So we kept my gray on top, added some highlights on top (which she toned gray, almost blue, kinda cool, certainly not orange!!) and then dyed the bottom of my hair to match my natural dark brown/black hue. Not only is the color amazing (both the gray and the dark brown to match my hair) but one of the best blowouts/styles I've ever gotten, with just 10-15 minutes of drying (I have coarse, frizzy, wavy hair). She gave me beautiful waves in front just with the blowdryer. Amazing. I wish I could have my hair look like this every day. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone. The salon was also very cute and welcoming and there are a few off street parking spots next door. My total even came to less than I was expecting. read more

Krystal is the BEST. She came highly recommended by a client of mine who used to work here but moved away. Krystal not only nailed my hair color to close to what it was when I had natural strawberry blonde hair she covers my grey and brought it back to health. I lost my hair stylist of many decades during the pandemic and the interim hair stylist I went to way overcharged and completely fried my hair almost to the point where it seems on purpose rather than ignorance. She said the color I wanted was "not possible" because of my "age" FU lady I still skateboard at my "age" and I eat right and take a lot of supplements as that is literally my job. Krystal also asked me what hair tools I was using as something was ruining my hair and it was my cheap curling iron and blow dryer. I had NO IDEA that was a thing. I bought better stuff as she told me what was good and I love my hair in my 50s more than years before. If you are wondering about going to Krystal call and consider yourself lucky if you can get in. They (Chrissy & Danielle, the owners) are also experts on extensions and miracle workers on color. Their cuts are wonderful too! They've also done a ton of weddings and proms. She is also just a really congenial person to chat with while you are in the process. Danielle took me under her wing, listened to my desires but also made her professional recommendations and we were able to come up with a game plan for how to get my hair the way I wanted it. Chrissy is a miracle worker. I've been going to her since 2003, well before she started Magnolia. I followed her to every salon along the way. She gets my hair color right EVERY SINGLE TIME! First, she saw the potential in my hair that I didn't, i.e. going from mousy brown to sun-kissed blond. She convinced me gradually and was never pushy, always listened to what I wanted but yet guided me with her expert opinion. I was hesitant with highlights because when I had them done before, they turned out ok the first time, but then after the second and third I started looking like a hyena. NOT with Chrissy!!!! Chrissy just gets my hair color PERFECT every single time!!! Seriously! It's like I become who I'm supposed to be in her chair - sunny honey golden blond. Okay... enough with the cheesiness. But seriously. She is worth every penny! Besides the amazing results (she is great with color, cut, extensions!!!!).... she is also super accommodating with appointments even though most times she is booked solid, she would stay late for me so I could make it in after my crazy work days. I have been going to Claire for my highlights for nearly a year, first when she was working at The Londoner and now at Magnolia. I didn't have to make the switch with her, and I never disliked The Londoner, but it really is so hard to find a good hairdresser you trust. I tried a few before I stumbled upon Claire, but once I found her I knew she was the only one I wanted to stay with! The best thing about Claire is she's not fake when she talks to you pretending to be your best friend to get a good tip like other hairdressers i've had, she is just extremely talented at what she does, is genuine, nice and honest! I have been coming to this salon for about 9 months now and I am very happy to have been referred here. I was referred to Krystal because my friend has cutest cut and i wanted a similar style. She does a really good job with short hair. She's always on time and will call you if she can take you any earlier. I've never had a problem getting a same week appointment which is wonderful since I'm usually desperate by the time I call in. I appreciate that she's really easy to talk to and a very real girl. The salon is very clean and upbeat. You may pass it about 3 or 4 times before finding it. There is a small parking lot off of Artesia between the salon and a Mexican restaurant so be on the lookout. read more

I've been going to Magnolia's for a few years now, and after trying dozens of hair salons in the South Bay, they are by far my favorite. I consistently get great haircuts, and the staff is always so friendly. Krystal is the bomb! This is not a review of the salon but of the Groupon I recently purchased. I have had the same experience as Paige S. Only 1 stylist honoring this groupon deal. I bought 3 blowouts as well. impossible to schedule. No business phone for this salon and must rely on texting for an appointment. I contacted Groupon to request a refund. Magnolia Salon owner....you might want to suggest that this stylist remove the Groupon. It is not boding well for your Yelp reviews or business. read more
