It was very informational and neat to see a little piece of history. Once we were done there we got on the Bridge walkway. We did not realize how long the Park Trail was, which is 17 miles! We decided we are going to rent some bikes when it gets a little warmer and try our hand at finishing the path. However, we did walk some of it though, and it was beautiful. I can't wait to explore more of this lovely park that we ran across! So more review to come:)

There are restrooms, a play ground, a few different docks, an amphitheater for outdoor concerts & events, picnic pavilions, a snack bar, and more. I especially love the walking path that goes along the lake, and my daughter and I like to spot gators in the water or sunning themselves on land. Last time we were here we saw gators, raccoons, squirrels, the cutest wild bunnies and a variety of large & small birds including roseate spoonbills. There are plenty of benches along the path and it's really nice to be able to sit down and watch the view and the wildlife. V

During, the days it can be a quiet peaceful place to walk. In the summers and evenings it can get busy but it's such a large park it doesn't feel crowded. There is free always parking. Along the way I enjoyed peaceful views of Big Sand Lake. This park is perfect for a family outing, a morning walk, or as a place to enjoy the outdoors. It is a fitting tribute to one of Central Florida's most influential and generous members.

First of…read moreall, Dr. Phillips Community Park sits on a small lake so it has a pretty view when you drive up. There is no swimming in the lake allowed however because of wildlife. Near the lake, there is a large playground for kids. It has slides, swings, and climbing structures. It's gated which is nice for the kids' safety (but parents/caregivers should still watch their kids!). They also have a splash pad next to the playground. In addition to the playground, there are lots of sidewalks all around to walk on. It's perfect if you want to get those steps in. There is a basketball court, sand volleyball court, dog park, and picnic tables. I saw a sign for occasional community events as well on the bulletin board near the bathrooms. We would love to come back to this park again when in the Dr. Phillips area of town!

During a recent visit to St. Cloud, I spent some time exploring Lakefront Park, a beautiful…read more2.5-mile recreational park along the southern shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga, better known as East Lake Toho. This was originally home to the Disston Sugar Mill in the 1870s. After the city of St. Cloud was founded by Union Army veterans, the area gradually evolved into a scenic waterfront destination featuring walking trails and a large marina. After suffering extensive hurricane damage in 2004, the park underwent a major renovation. The improvements included 140 boat slips, new fixed and floating docks, a seawall, and a 10,000-square-foot community center. Today, Lakefront Park offers so much, with a sandy beach, splash pad, playgrounds, a concession stand, and more than two miles of paved walking and biking trails. The park also hosts a variety of community events, from monthly "Movies Under the Stars" screenings to seasonal festivals and bazaars. The full-service marina serves as a hub for boating and fishing on East Lake Toho while providing beautiful waterfront views. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning. Next time, I plan to take a cruise aboard The Lillie, a beautifully restored 75-foot authentic sternwheel paddleboat docked at the marina, and enjoy a meal at Crabby's on the Lake, the popular waterfront restaurant located adjacent to the park.
