I noticed the positive reviews online for Elizabeth's Records, so I stopped in as I was looking for a few records for Christmas. There was a full section of Christmas records for $1 each. Most were used, some new! I've been to a few other record stores in Columbus, and this one is a little smaller (but still has quite the variety) and it's also fairly priced. The non-Christmas records I purchased were $16-20. There was a nice cat near the window, and the owners were very kind. Highly recommend! As a note, this is on a small strip of fun Clintonville shops, a movie theater, etc. So, you can make a fun trip of it. read more

I love this little record store. I've been there a few times now, and both times I've found a stack of records. They have a lot of "classic rock" and 80's pop along with many hidden gems. That's why I flip through almost everything from A-Z. This last visit I found Walker Brothers and Ween! They also have a nice country selection filled with old school greats. And they have a friendly shop cat! Oh, and masks are still required. They do provide masks, if you need one. read more

I found a lot of titles that I don't normally see in the surrounding shops (and there are many nearby) and the prices are very reasonable. I like 45's as well, and they had a bunch of those too. Just left this record store. The place is AWESOME in so many ways. I found some good albums and the prices were fair. The artwork and memorabilia were also great. Bought some Motown, Bluegrass, Old Willie, Old Johnny Cash and some Rock & Roll. I could've easily spent hundreds in here, in a very short time. The main reason that I didn't give five stars is because this place smells SO STRONGLY of cat pee. I can't believe more people didn't mention that in their reviews I love cats. I loved meeting the cat in the shop. I have three of my own cats...just so everyone doesn't think I'm Cat Shaming or Hating. But when they pee inappropriately, it's overpowering and unpleasant. It definitely caused me to leave sooner than I wanted to. Another reason is that despite the other reviews saying the people here were friendly, we were barely spoken to while we were here. But every single one of my records had been checked and play beautifully. I have such mixed feelings about this place. read more

Elizabeth's Records is a cute and eclectic record shop along the Indianola corridor near Studio 35. Indeed, if we are heading out for a movie, we make sure to leave a little time to browse at Elizabeth's before the show. I can only speak to their CD collection, as I am not a vinyl aficionado. They do have a large selection of vinyl, though, as well as some eclectic CDs to choose from. I usually leave with 3-5 selections. The owners are friendly, as is their large cat. I walked out of Elizabeth's Records with the following: a Jesus And Mary Chain promo cassette, a Skinny Puppy advance cassette, and R.E.M.'s Fables of The Reconstruction. All for $10. Do I really have to say anything else? The shop is small but comfortable, the prices are fantastic across the board, and there's nothing like seeing some handmade artwork from Elizabeth herself alongside Paul Westerberg-signed copies of The Replacements' "Pleased To Meet Me." Elizabeth's is still a treasure chest for Record hunting at it's finest. The small, quaint record store that has called Indianola home for a few years now, still entices all record collectors with really great finds, and great condition favorites. It's my personal favorite haunt and secret for those who only stick to campus and downtown institutions. Will they have RSD new releases? No, but that's not a bad thing, either. If you really need a place to find some great rock classics, spectacular jazz selection, or even some 'WTF?' head scratchers, then this is really your place. That's really not all of it, either. They have some Latin, Soul, Country and a good selection of classical. The owners are always super friendly, and willing to help, or answer any questions. David is still one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to music... hands down and it's not just classic rock, either. He knows multiple genres and ranges. The best part is that they're very adamant in keeping their stock up to par. Every week to couple weeks brings in new and great finds from nice collections. You won't really find a lot of junky vinyl that looks like it's been through a few games of Frisbee here, and this little Mom and Pop record store can tout that. Plus they always have such great and wonderful sales all year round. They've had multiple $1 sales... Fill your crate sales, and other sales you could really take advantage of if you're looking to expand your current collection. Just follow them on Facebook for deals and upcoming sales. They've even recently started offering turntable repair, and can even help you out if you're interested in maybe upgrading that crappy Crosley into something a bit more... well.. actually... a lot more nicer, and for a fair price. I love giving these folks, business. It's just a great little place, with the quirks that every Mom and Pop place should have. I'll gladly continue giving them my business, because they're what make small businesses in communities great. First time checking this place out on Record Store Day- 20% off all of their vinyl! What a nice surprise. Cute little shop that's packed to the gills with older/used vinyl. Family run, and a nice mix of genres. I'm only taking off a star because they don't have any new vinyl, and their daughter Elizabeth (I assume she is the namesake?) must have been having an off day, as she was having a temper tantrum in the middle of the store. A mix between awkward and endearing, for sure. I would definitely check this place first if there is an older album that you have to have for your collection! read more

Pretty decent, large selection of Jazz & rock/pop records. All used, collectible stuff, no new releases. There's also a small section of soul where I found a KILLER Impressions record. The hip-hop section is teeny tiny. Some world & exotica records too. Tons and tons of $2 records that are also 3 for $5, rather than a $1 bin. Lots of stuff I want from there, most prices seem to be $5-20 It's run by some good people, they gave me 10% off and we never even met before! A great option for vinyl lovers in Central Ohio. The store may seem small when first entering, but they have a deceptively large selection of used LPs. On each visit I have been able to find multiple things that I cannot pass up. Prices are good especially in the large wall of discount records and the many racks on the floors. A very small place that opened just down the road from me. Be sure to "like" the page of facebook before going and you will receive a discount. This place is TINY in comparison to used kids, but the owner is much more into buying clean quality copies. He has a great collection of stuff that everyone wants in their collection (i.e. Beatles, zeppelin). I am currently into collecting a lot of the 60's and 70's soul, and he had a pretty good selection, last time I was in I got a 3 disc Stevie Wonder that I had been looking high and low for and it was only $14. I was also able to find some reggae artists that I don't usually see. The thing that really keeps me coming back is how small and quaint this place is. The only people I have ever seen working there is the owner, his wife, and daughter. They are all really nice and awesome people. I was surprised to find out that Elizabeth is actually a little girl who sits at the counter and plays with toys and gets to listen to great music all day long. How awesome is that? There are LOADS of cheap records to flip through here, plus everything in the racks is extremely neatly organized by genre and alphabetized, and priced really well. If you are looking for something specific, they may not have it, but if you spend some time in the bins you will bump into too much music and wind up having to make some tough decisions. There was a wide selection and even when the shelves didn't have the item I was looking for, it was in the back and quickly brought out to me. They're also very kid friendly.
