She's wonderful & has a great sense of humor! The challenges to find a medical spa are many. Moving out of state or area, to an injector unexpectedly moving on, lastly, the sub-par facilities & sneaky injectors! You believe all is on the up until you do not see the expected results! Nightmares at best! Any clients that have dealt with similar issues know exactly what my meaning is! Maine Laser is not 1 of the above-mentioned! Instead, it's a dream! I'll continue leaving 5 reviews. Great staff, friendly, welcoming & trustworthy!!

I do not wear women's clothing or makeup (I'm not a Crossdresser). In other words, at this point, no one would know unless I came out to them. That said, I'm still puzzled as to why I was treated as I was when I visited Maine Laser Skin Care for a consult. The front desk person was very nice. I don't feel like I was treated any differently than any other customer. That ended when I was brought back for my consult with a older woman that I assume was one of their laser operators. Let me add a couple things before I comment any further. This was not my first consult for laser hair removal. I have been shopping around for the best price and most convenient appointment times. It's expensive but that is expected. I just don't want to overpay. Maine Laser Skin Care is close by my home so I thought I should check them out. Also, I'm not looking to remove hair from any private areas. I'm only interested in forearms and legs. I was brought back to a treatment room where I explained my situation (transgender) and wishes. The laser operator became negative right away. First (without seeing the hair on my arms) she told me that it wouldn't work because my hair is too light. I explained that the hair on my head, which is blonde, is not my hair color. I'm a white skinned brunette. Other consults have told me that the contrast between my skin and hair is great. This operator then went on to tell me how she tried hair removal on another blonde and it didn't work. I reiterated that I wasn't a blonde. Then she told me that it takes a really long time. I explained that I was aware that could take a couple years to be completed. Her next salvo was to tell me just how expensive it would be. (I'm aware that it's costly. I can afford it. I just don't want to overspend). She then tells me that their appointments are only 30 minutes and they can't do a lot in that time. She added that they charge $300 ($10/minute). By this time I realized that every word she'd said was negative and that she was trying to discourage me from choosing her facility. I thanked her and told her that I had received better offers and that this wasn't going to work for me. (There was no point in pushing myself on her). This happened four days ago. I was just going to keep quiet and let it go but I've thought better of it. I don't want others like me to have to waste their time checking this place out. If I'd seen a review like this, I would not have bothered going. Transitioning is hard because my brain has always been female and HRT has locked that in. My head has transitioned but it will be a couple years until my body catches up. Until then, I live as a male on the outside. It's really easy to get emotionally hurt. That's not usually anyone's fault. It's just the way it has to be for awhile until I'm at the point where others can see me as I really am. This visit kinda stung. It's too bad all around because, yes, it's expensive. I would have put a substantial amount of cash into this business. I guess they don't need it.

Ladies who have yet to reach menopause…read more I've been feeling sh!tty for years (at least 10). I recently learned you can go through perimenopause for up to 20 years! Not through my regular doctors...but I stumbled onto a clinic where we tested my levels of hormones. My regular doctor has done this for a while now...but I'm not quite "low enough" for them to consider any treatment... ...and I still have a regular period. All other hormone levels low, but not "low enough". Keep this in mind as I tell you my testosterone level has been literally zero or barely on the scale for at least 14 years. This first adjustment, we added testosterone. HOLY S#!T! What a difference! I don't hurt all over in my joints, I sleep great, and the brain fog (almost unbearable!) lifted. Also added were supplements for estrogen enhancement. We recently added thyroid meds because I am (and have been) low in thyroid hormones. My brain fog is completely GONE! I can't believe how it's gone! I love being able to think and speak again without stumbling for word and memory. I have shared all of this with my PCP, who, at no fault of hers, scratches her head at this. They only go by their specified levels, not by levels other labs report, and per her, "We really don't do anything about hormones". I wanted to give POSITIVE testimony on this treatment from Melange Integrative Medicine. Erin has changed my life There IS someone out there that can help!!! (age: 54)
