I've been here twice already and both times were fantastic!! The quality of the chocolate and ice cream is so good!! You get to choose from vanilla or chocolate and three toppings. There are lots of photo props/ instagram opportunists inside the store as well, if you're looking for that. Also very affordable, something around 6 euros?

The worst customer experience ever. If the ice cream wasn't so good I would've given 0 stars.

Out of my 6 weeks travel this is my very first negative review and I couldn't wait to post it! Let's start by saying most delicious ice cream bar I've ever had, which is probably why they can get away with treating you like absolute dog sh*t. They don't accept cards, so we asked where the closest ATM was, only to be sent on a wild goose chase. After my husband running around the city for 15 mins he finally returned with cash only to be told they close in 5 mins (this was at 8:17pm but Google says they're open until 8:30pm). They then both proceeded to tell us we're just tourist on vacation and they work 16 hours a day so we should be happy they were even serving us. BTW the store isn't even open 16 hours a day. We were with a large group but we were not all paying together, that did not matter because they forced us all to be on one ticket. After that whole debacle we were rushed through our experience and the lady hurried to throw our ice creams together, only smiling after realizing I was recording a video of my ice cream being made. After spending $60 on ice cream my 70 year old mother in law and husband were told they could not use their bathroom because they were closed (this was at only 8:25pm). In conclusion I would say enjoy the ice cream for what it is because the customer service experience is THE WORST!!!!!

Hand made Magnum ice cream - fantastic!

What a great idea-to have your own hand made Magnum ice cream designed by you. You have lots of choices regarding topping, add ons etc. We ordered a white chocolate Magnum with rose petals and chili which was really nice, both cold and hot at once :) A visit here is highly recommended!

Magnum store where you get to choose your own ice cream (vanilla or chocolate) and then coat it in chocolate (milk, dark or white) & add 3 toppings. We chose vanilla ice cream, milk chocolate and honeycomb, caramel and meringue toppings with white chocolate drizzle. Quick, easy, delicious choices of toppings and all done in front of you. Store was clean and open with seating, tables and a hot drinks menu.

This place is awesome! They have so many choices that you could make so many different bars! My mom and I loved choosing between the different options. She got vanilla ice cream, dark chocolate she'll, marshmallows, rice pops, brownies and drizzled with white chocolate. I got vanilla ice cream, milk chocolate shell, gold pops, brownies, honeycomb and drizzled with dark chocolate. They were so so good! We loved them. For any chocolate/ice cream lover, this place is a must!

Definitely a must try when in Rome. This place is the best and I would go everyday in my life if I lived here. So good and you can customize your entire ice cream.

    Delicious custom Magnum =)

Nice store in the middle of Rome. We came across it by accident and couldn't resist :) You can create your own Magnum Ice. By deciding between chocolate and vanilla base, adding one of the three cover chocolates and then decorate it with up to three toppings :) Delicious!! Also nice area to sit, free Wifi and a bathroom! :)

This place is amazing! Although it seems a little unfair to compare it to Popbar in Anaheim in California, it is the only other DIY custom ice cream bar place I have an experience with! Magnum store was 100000000000x better than Popbar ! The interior was amazing-- so clean, beautiful and had a great presentation of all of the goodies you can add on your ice cream! The staff is extremely friendly to tourists and also quite patient during my difficult decision making with all of these toppings! They also do not skimp at all and are very generous with ALL of the toppings! I will be returning here once I return to Italy! Mmmmm delish just thinking about how amazing my ice cream was :)

It was very good. I like to built my own ice cream. I would have give 5 stars if the staff was nice. Girls were SO impolite and impatient because I was asking about what was all the ingredients. My right no ?

I was so looking forward to coming to this place. It is almost like going to a Disney land, but for chocolate. You chose between the chocolate or vanilla flavors, your 3 toppings of choice and then your finish in either white chocolate, milk or dark chocolate. At only four euros, it's a heavenly treat. I was somewhat disappointed however that the only flavors they had left were vanilla for the ice cream bars, they could have told is that when we bought them otherwise I would have waited until tomorrow. They dip the ice cream in the chocolate liquid of your choice, and carefully add the toppings. Mine was vanilla, with a dark chocolate cover, brownies, mandorle and silver sprinkles. He then drizzled some white chocolate on top. Check it out!

If you're from Orange County, you'll probably realize how similar this place is to Popbar back at home. Magnum my pleasure is so good and definitely worth it. The toppings you can add are so unique i remmeber they had rose petals and the white chocolate is in the form of pearls. The people working there spoke the best English I had ever heard in Italy so it was very nice for us. Free wifi you just need to ask!

Date of Visit: 31 May 2016. They've increased the price for the My Magnum option from €4 to €4.5. I guess it is because they are getting quite popular. The staff are still great. Super friendly and they move quickly and efficiently. They also have a selection of different coffee, juices and even baked goods but I haven't tried any of them yet. I'll be back for those next time...

Tried the one in Venice actually and I must admit coming from the states I was super excited to experience an actual Magnum store in Europe rather than the typical single packaged ones. It was a bit pricey for what it's worth, but then again even a regular magnum ice cream stick costs more than your every day ice cream. But other than that, love the idea of adding on your own toppings.

Gorgeous, delicious ice cream at a fair price. Was cash only, though, so we needed to run to the ATM.

Interesting presentation, but the vanilla flavor was too sweet. I'd go for the dark choco dip next time over the milk choclate

Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.

Tucked along the lively streets of Trastevere, this little spot delivers gelato with genuine craftsmanship and flavors that taste as authentic as the city around you. The first thing you notice is the freshness. Each flavor looks vibrant--not overly piled or artificially glossy--and you can tell everything is made with real ingredients. One spoonful confirms it: the gelato is creamy, smooth, and beautifully balanced. The fruit flavors burst with natural sweetness, especially the mango and strawberry, while the classics like pistachio, hazelnut, and chocolate showcase that rich, deep, true-to-ingredient taste that only well-made gelato can achieve. Their specialty flavors are equally impressive--unique without feeling gimmicky--and everything is served at the perfect temperature so the texture stays silky, not icy. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the cones have that fresh baked aroma that adds an extra layer of enjoyment. The staff is warm and welcoming, happy to offer suggestions, and patient even when you're debating between ten flavors that all look incredible. The atmosphere reflects Trastevere itself--relaxed, friendly, and full of character. If you don't know what real gelato should look like check my photos. First it shouldn't be piled high into mountains. Secondly the colors should be natural. We said our goodbyes to the tour and the gelato was so good I wanted more. We ended up getting an affogato and a few more scoops in a bowl the second time. This was very close to where Julius Caesar was assassinated so we walked over and checked it out.
