It was our first night in Florence and wanted someplace near our hotel where we wouldnt need…read morereservations. We were greeted promptly and were seated at a table in the window. The waiter explained that a few items on the menu weren't available due to seasonality, but informed us of replacements.
For starters, we had the zucchini carpaccio (one of the replacement items), thinly sliced zucchini with cheese and drizzled with balsamic vinegar, and the fried polenta, served with mushrooms and pate.
For our pasta course we had the gnocchi with meat sauce and my boyfriend had the naked gnocchi, another replacement item, which was stuffed with spinich and cheese.
For our entrees, we had the stew with grilled polenta and my boyfriend had one of the other replacement items, scallopini.
For dessert, it was the apple pie, made in the kitchen of owner's mom and biscotti cookies and wine, in which you dunk the cookies in the wine until soft. You continue with all the cookies and when you are finished with all the cookies, you drink the last of the wine, which has cookie crumbs in it. Therefore getting cookies and wine in every taste.
All the dishes were prepared perfectly. The timing between courses was excellent. We neither felt rushed nor ignored.
To finish the meal off, we were offered home made lemoncello, which was the perfect ending to a great meal. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Florence!
