I saw this Dr. about 15 years ago, give or take, when he was @ Oak St. Medical., Eugene. In the…read moreseveral visits I had with him for my Fibromyalgia, he never ever once listened to my lungs or heart (& I have COPD). He sat in the opposite corner of the room, What? This was so uncomfortable! Well, the practice itself, Oak St. Medical, + all their affiliates, says it all. No, I'd run the other way as a new patient. I did!

Doctor Andrew Gilchrist has been my primary care provider for about a year now, and I have never…read morebeen more satisfied. Dr. Gilchrist has a profoundly sane approach to patient care including empathy, humor and access. I am able to reach my doctor any time, and receive a response almost immediately. He is available via text always and is also quite easy to schedule with. I have never (never!) had to wait to see him. Beyond being very knowledgeable, easy to talk with and amazingly kind, Dr. Gilchrist also provides a level of care that is incredible. He has dropped off prescriptions for me, been proactive with insurance issues and worked diligently to find me other providers, such as physical therapy, who are equally good. Concierge care may require new thinking at first. Paying a subscription rate on top of insurance can seem prohibitive, but when given the level of care and contact, it's actually quite a bargain. Dr. Gilchrist has seen me several times a month, as well as offered referrals, text consults and encouragement, all within my monthly cost. No copay, no additional fees, and of course all services that he refers too work with insurance as usual. It's an easy win- and genuinely adds to my health and well being to be part of his concierge practice. I would encourage anyone to get in and see Dr. Gilchrist! He's the absolute best!

My mom was brought in to the ER by ambulance following a stroke. We weren't sure what was happening…read moreand requested an MRI. It showed that she had in fact had a stroke. She was kept overnight. The next morning Dr Whitsel walked in the room and her first words were "She has dementia!" I questioned how she could diagnose it so quickly and she responded that mom was given a story to read and then asked questions about it and that she had failed the test. I continued asking questions and she said that she had 8 new patients and she would have to look over her notes. I think she should have gone over the notes before she entered the room. She has HORRIBLE bedside manner and does not like to be questioned. I would suggest you request a different doctor if she is looking at your patient.

If I could rate a negative number here, I would. 1/5 seems ridiculously generous. I can't even go…read moreinto too much detail without risking even further cardiac damage that this absolute piece of human garbage contributed to. Decided the moment she saw me that she had issues with me, it was obvious. Popped into my room throughout my week long visit at McKenzie Willamette's Progressive Care Unit (which she is somehow the 'hospitalist' for) to make weird and taunting statements while displaying a poorly disguised grin. After a procedure to save my life, she (the last time I'll assign it any human/animal pronoun) was the first face I saw while coming out from under anesthesia, telling me it was discharging me immediately. My actual cardiologist had told me I would be kept for observation. When I argued with it, it told me it was her wing and it was not going to be argued with. I stayed the night but was rushed out next day even after staff had damaged my prosthetic in the process. Yeah, I'm also an amputee. I would recommend it be stripped of title and prosecuted. It is an absolute monster and it never should have been given license to practice. Still in process of taking legal action. The ER staff were amazing. The majority of nurses on it's wing became increasingly cold and passive aggressively punitive as the week went on, and I have no doubt it was at the urging of Whitsel. F@#k Whitsel.

They were not upfront with me about their "15 min and only one topic to discuss" business model…read morewhen I made my appointment. I ask for a pcp and they told me they did that. I expressed my frustration at the lack of transparency regarding this to Katie the NP I was scheduled with as I had taken time off work for the app and needed to discuss both migraines and tapering off trazodone. She lacked empathy and was very rude insisting I had to pick one to discuss. I walked out as that is not the quality of care I'm looking for and felt very misled!

This place is amazing...!!! Look no further for quality healthcare with integrity. I saw Riccara…read moreonline and considering my health issues she advised me to come in for blood work, vitals, and another opinion. The next day I was seen by Collins, and I have to say was one of the most pleasurable experiences "in office" that I have ever received. The appointment was not rushed, and I truly felt that the team here really cared about my health and was seeking solutions. I am also that one in 1,000 that have the tiniest of veins and they roll. So, mentioning that to Collins he assured me that if the phlebotomist could not draw blood that he would. Let me tell you that this is very rare, and it indicates the level of care and once again integrity this place has. Madeline was the wonderful young woman who took my blood. She was very gentle and understood that my veins are very scrawny and opted for a hand vein. The blood draw experience was amazing, and I cannot recommend her enough. She even gave me a handheld heating pad to bring out the veins more. You should be so lucky to get her as she typically works in the Portland area. I guess I just got fortunate. Also, another sign of a great blood draw is no pain or bruising afterwards in which I have none. The team here is wonderful, compassionate and I really felt that my care and needs were met. Please look no further...!! They offer so much here. Take advantage now because when the lovely people of Springfield and Eugene get wind of how wonderful this place truly is, you may be waiting for longer appointments. Establish yourself now. Thank you Riccara, Collins and Madeline. You were all so very amazing...!!!
