I dont want anyone else touching my brows! She's only at this location Friday and Saturdays and is at the other location. The rest of the week. Very inconsistent. I usually thread my eyebrows and wax here. The first time I did my eyebrows an older woman had to help correct the mistakes made by the employee . Mahboob means beloved, in Urdu. Anyway, I went here about 10 years ago to get my nose pierced. Fine enough. No infection, and I'm still rocking the stud. I've gone here several times in the past 2 years to get a full face threading job done ($25 + tip). The women know what they are doing and are fast, but they are not particularly gentle. In fact, each time, I ended up breaking out because my skin got so distressed! When I told the beautician the next time, she included a *free* mask at the end of the threading session -- which only helped minimize the reaction. I stayed with that combo for two more times, before giving up. I eventually moved on over to the full face waxing treatment. Again, fast but not gentle. I am now going to an Egyptian place in the Tri-Taylor/UIC/Little Italy area (Taylor and Morgan) that gets the job done and doesn't leave me with 15-year old pimples. If I only wanted my eyebrows done, I'd go...but Sonia Salon offers it with a little less pain. And any authentic Indian place is going to have it for cheap and with good results. The lady who did my threading was also dedicated, very kind and just created a pleasant experience for me. The threading was really good - not painful, really well-done. Comfortable and clean salon. They even threw in a free herbal facial for me which was very soothing and relaxing. My skin actually felt smoother and clearer just one day later! I have been going here for years and no matter who threads my eyebrows, they turn out amazing! It's about a 30 minute drive away from me but I can't find another salon that does the great job they do. They always make sure I am comfortable and that I'm happy with the end results. I went yesterday after reading all of the positive reviews on Yelp. I went to get my eyebrows tinted and threaded. Everyone there was super friendly! I explained to the man at the front that I was new there. He immediately set me up for their rewards program. Seriously, people, they have a rewards program!!! The woman who did my eyebrows listened to what I wanted and was very attentive. See did any amazing job plus the price was reasonable. You can go somewhere else for a few dollars cheaper but it won't include this type of customer service. I will definitely be a regular now! read more

Pros: decent threading Cons: lack of professionalism, not good for other services I went in to treat myself to a facial and scalp massage. I also wanted to get some facial bleach done as well as threading. Unfortunately the owner kept pulling out the lady working with me ( Nisha) to work on other clients. When I was ready for my scalp massage, Nisha was asked to go work on another client. After more waiting, the owner finally was ready to do my scalp massage. The massage itself was good but lasted 12 minutes though it was advertised as ( and charged as) a 30 minute massage. I have been to this salon a number of times. The services themselves are not that bad. I really liked getting my eye-brows done here. I have waited in the past to get eyebrows done which is fine as I am selective about who does it. Once I'm taken in though, I shouldn't me made to wait multiple 20-30 minute slots during my service. read more

My experience today was five star worthy. Loss of two stars is explained below. Celina helped me this morning. I told her exactly what I wanted regarding my eyebrows and she listened and did it very well and quite painlessly! She also had me check in the mirror many times to make sure I was happy with the shape and results. She was very kind and patient - she took her time threading my eyebrows and they look great. When you go, ask for Celina! Past experience: Before today, I would have given this place a 1 star review based on my previous experience here. Not only is there always a ridiculously long wait, but one time, the lady who threaded my eyebrows made them so thin (even though I asked her to keep them long and thick), and it hurt way more than it was supposed to. After all that pain, she didn't even get all the unwanted hair out - there were pieces left everywhere! I had to tweeze them when I got home. Even after waiting for close to a half an hour to get my eyebrows threaded, this woman rushed on me and my experience was painful and unhappy. I had to grow my eyebrows out for months to get the thickness back! I do not know the name of the lady who did my eyebrows that time, but she was young, wore glasses, spoke English well, and was very talkative. read more

Used to be my go to, but after tonight I won't be returning to this location. Lights on, door open, I walk in around 7:30 and get yelled at by a lady (not the owner) that they're closed. Thought they closed at 8pm, but haven't been able to get in the past two times I've been out there. Closed or not, there is no reason to be rude. That's not a service I pay for. i was on a tight schedule and left my threading for the last minute. unaware of their hours on mondays (they are closed) i walked in as the owner was doing her own mother's hair on their day off. i apologized and offered to come back later. she asked me what i need and i told her. she offered to do the service even though they were closed. that's exceptional customer service and worth noting which is why i'm here. great service great prices and great people. highly recommended. read more

I recently went here to have my eyebrows threaded and was not impressed at all! My eyebrows were not even at all and I ended up getting a pencil to fill in the part that was now missing... Because this is the only place that I know of in my area that threads eyebrows I decided to give them another chance today. Obviously the woman that was working was more interested in her TV show than threading my eyebrows. She finished and I had to point out an area that she missed, she then fixed that area and once again my eyebrows were uneven! Unbelievable! I would not send my worst enemy here.. Would give -5 stars if possible for rude, unprofessional and unsterile conditions. Never get piercings at this place. They show you a sealed sterile packet and use some other materials when it comes to the actual piercing. They do not listen to your requests and do not apologize for their mistakes. read more
