I won't recommend this place at all! It was been more than 2 weeks and my nails won't grow. They are still so bad brittle and 2 of them I can't remove the nail polish because I will be removing my skin! Lil back story... the new owner did my mani and pedi and she did an awful job. Mani was supposed to be no chip they didn't even last 2 days on.... The worse part of everything is that she really damaged my nails she filed them so thin to the last layer. While she was doing them I did complain twice and told her it was hurting I even told her when she put the nail polish on that it felt hot she said it was normal.. got worse with the light. I am so disappointed of this place. I might need to consult a dr at this point. I can't even do nothing with that hand using both fingers it's so painful. It took weeks to get someone to answer the phone call to set up an appointment. I had a Groupon and by the time I could get an apt it was expired. They agreed to accept it because I had said that I had been trying for weeks to get someone to answer the phone. When I did finally get them on the phone she yelled at me for getting a Groupon telling me that they would have given me the Groupon price had I asked when I came in. I explained it was a gift and I had no choice. I attempted to make plans for my friend and I to go together in June, then later tried to get in before vacation. No answer. I showed up for my appointment. The place was absolutely empty. I asked them during their appointment follow up call yesterday if I could re schedule because we had a last minute move for my grandma and they told me no, that they didn't have any appointments until December! When I got there today,, the lady sat out front smoking so I walked around the corner since I was waiting right outside their doors until my appointment time. I don't know why she wouldn't have done that at the back door of their business. There was a lady at the front desk and the lady that did my mani pedi when I got there. It was so dead I was annoyed because they made it out like they were swamped and super booked. My "spa" pedicure lasted 10 minutes max. It was the most uneventful, basic, boring, and non relaxing "spa" pedicure I've ever had. The front desk lady had gone into a back room so 2 times when people came in the lady doing my pedicure had to get up and leave the room and walk to the front room to explain that they aren't taking walk ins. She had a slight limp and walked incredibly slow and even after doing that twice my spa pedicure was less than 10 minutes long, including soak time! I'm a barefoot person who just got back from 2 weeks of camping and I was super sad about this pedicure. I was really looking forward to a relaxing and refreshing experience. She hardly did anything to my feet! No lotion even? No massage? Sugar scrub for like 40 seconds on one foot and 20 seconds on the other foot! She asked me multiple times at different points during my appointment about payment. I told her couple times politely that I had already given her my printed Groupon. My manicure was even worse. She had a cardboard box that she propped my wrist up on. It was so uncomfortable and she kept switching hands. Then she gave up and only propped one wrist on it and left the other hand dangling. She again had to leave and go to the front room for a walk in customer who she told to wait and she's let the other front desk lady know she was there. She took forever to walk back to let her co worker know she was waiting. She then went back to tell her that she would have to wait because she was with a customer. She was not with a customer at all. She never soaked my cuticles. There was no lotion. There was no massage. And she hardly even manicured my nails. She spent more time than anything using the paintbrush and nail polish remover to correct her mistakes with the nail polish. I'd post a picture of how bad it was, but I already had to clip around my cuticles and fix it before I started biting my nails because she left it in bad shape. The majority of my time there I was waiting for her to walk back and fourth between the two rooms. I will never go back. If my Groupon hadn't been a gift I would be calling Groupon to get a refund read more

The friendly owner (Gita) and stylist (Angela) are priceless. I have been coming here for my haircut/color for awhile now, and also bring my daughters here. My 9 year old says it her favorite place to get a haircut, and she is a tough sell! Strengths of Beauty Concepts (Aurora): 1. Affordable- the price for services are very reasonable. 2. Immaculately clean, calming ambiance. 3. Kind, friendly staff. 4. Most importantly, the talented stylists! Being generous really with 2 stars... the nail tech was nice enough but I'm left bleeding after a no chip mani pedi. The polish kept slipping down my nail and onto my finger. I blame the new brand for that and the tech said maybe it's because she needed to use a thinner layer of nail polish. Anyway, to fix it, she took a nail file to the hardened chunk of spillover nail polish and vigorously went at it. She filed my finger till it bled... I felt immense pain (and I have a high pain tolerance), took a peek, and noticed the blood & tear in the skin next to my finger. Found this place via Groupon. The manicure and pedicure were great, but I should have gone with my gut and NOT let them wax my eyebrows. Whatever wax they used damaged my skin and now I have big red marks under my left eyebrow. They kept pushing threading on me and I must have said no 10 times - maybe they push threading because they don't know how to wax. Needless to say, I will not be back. Edit 12/26/14: Gita, in response to your comment, I understand that certain skincare products (and prescription medications) cause drying of the skin, so that is why technicians at reputable salons ask the customer if they are on those medications prior to applying wax to the skin. Technicians at reputable salons also make sure the wax is hot enough before dragging it across the customer's skin, causing the skin to break. Please don't preach to me, especially when it is apparent that no one working at your salon(s) knows a thing about waxing. I highly recommend that you not offer waxing services, if threading is all you want to do. read more

I bought a groupon for two gold facials and was told I could not use both. When asked what I paid, I showed it to the facial lady and she told me they were for two 30 minute, not the advertised 60, but would take care of me. This salon has changed. Based on my one time experience, I REALLY WISH I discovered this salon sooner. It's unfortunate that I will be moving soon, but if I am ever back in town I will 100% be back! The other salon, that I usually go to for my waxing, couldn't fit me in at the last moment (aka today), so I decided to go online and quickly find another place with good reviews. I called in, was greeted on the phone instantly, and booked an appointment within the SAME afternoon. Talk about EFFICIENT! This has never happened to me before, I'm usually waiting for about 20-30 minutes in the waiting area. The place wasn't empty either, there were a handful of customers already inside. Since I was a first time customer, I filled out a basic questionnaire saying that I wasn't on accutane, or other medications, and disclosed allergies. The lady waxing me was very friendly and sweet because let's admit it...beauty is pain :( Also, she worked fast so I wasn't too uncomfortable. I can manage to give two stars because ladies at the front desk are really sweet. I made an appointment for 3:00pm, they called and asked if it could be changed to 4:00pm, and I thought that was alright. I arrived promptly at 4:00pm, but then I waited twenty minutes for the stylist, after she had been called multiple times by those sweet front desk ladies. She finally walked into the salon, and then did not acknowledge that I was there. She wasn't apologetic in anyway, and walked straight to the back room. And so I got up and straight out the door. I decided to try this place for a no chip mani and regular pedi. Once I arrived they decided to start with my mani....the manicure started out slow but quickly went down hill. My nails were filed so short I decided I no longer wanted a no chip and just to proceed with a regular mani. Great service and attention to detail! I was a walk in and was seated instantly when I walked into the door. I had the option to thread or wax and I went for threading. Both are offered at the same price which is pretty rare because most salons charge a lot more for threading. She kept giving me the mirror to achieve my personal satisfaction. I recently moved to the area and was putting off getting my brows done because my previous girl was amazing. After reading the reviews, I was sold. I arrived and was taken immediately. I told Gita this was my first time threading and was switching because of breaking out from waxing. She explained the process well and even used a special aloe lotion to avoid future breakouts.
