Maher Collision, a subsidiary of Maher Chevrolet, is an accredited GEICO body shop that was recommended to me by my GEICO insurance adjuster. I popped in and talked to Lisa. With great fortitude and perseverance she got through to a live person at GEICO (Something I've been unable to accomplish) and got the phone number and email of my claims adjuster. We will see how this all plays out since this Saga began. A piece of rebar sticking out of a parking block almost tore my bumper off. I went to my go to local body shop to have it repaired and everything seemed fine... Except my dashboard warning signs telling me my front bumper sensors were off-line. I went to the Toyota dealership to have that taken care of, but in the process the new bumper itself became loose, which meant starting the whole process over, since the dealership told me that the bumper could not be properly affixed because it did not fit right. WTF?!? It fit right before bringing it to the dealership... back to square one. Avoid Chevrolet - Ongoing Issues, Poor Service, and Zero Accountability Owner of a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer here - purchased from AutoNation Chevrolet Clearwater. From day one, the vehicle had issues: turbo problems (which ended up being a recall), loss of engine power, "Shift to Park" defect (which became a Class Action Lawsuit), and a transmission that clunks into gear. I brought the vehicle to Chevrolet and other shops multiple times over the years for the issues mentioned above, but I was always told the transmission was functioning properly. Fast forward to this year - the vehicle began bucking and revving high before slamming into gear, and ultimately stalled and shut off while driving. A SERIOUS safety hazard - not only for myself, but for others drivers as well. The vehicle was brought to Maher Chevrolet by a shop who expressed serious concerns with the vehicle. Maher was confident to address the issue at a "cost accommodation" of $1,200. After about six weeks of unanswered calls that were responded to via text and having to repeatedly ask for updates instead of receiving them proactively, I messaged a service professional to address the lack of communication and the overall silence. However, within one of the updates I was informed they had to order another part because the original fix did not solve the problem. Eventually, my service advisor told me that my car is now in TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE - and my new "cost accommodation" will be $5,000. I escalated to Corporate Customer Care. After 5 days, they finally responded, asked me to re-explain the entire situation (despite already having a case open), and told me nothing further could be done since the dealership had already offered an "accommodation." The rep had the nerve to call this "fair" and this was the best they could do because my warranties had lapsed - but I had reported these same issues on multiple occasions before the warranty expired. That fact was completely ignored. Fair is NOT the word I would use to describe my past and current experiences with Chevrolet. I was also told I should essentially "consider myself lucky" since I had previously gone to independent shops. That statement alone shows how little accountability GM takes for the ongoing failures of their vehicles. Not only are you simply a dollar sign to them but there are COUNTLESS class action law suits against GM. As of today, Maher still has my car. I have been juggling rentals (at my own expense), borrowing cars, and driving 40+ miles daily for my job. At one point, I requested a Courtesy Vehicle and never received a response nor was I offered this solution in the meantime by any employee at Maher. Bottom line: Stay FAR away from Chevrolet. Between the unresolved mechanical failures, poor communication, and complete lack of support from Corporate, it's clear customers are just numbers. A few weeks ago I took my Chevy Tahoe to Maher Chevrolet for an oil change and tire rotation. Upon completion the service advisor told me the tech said i needed to replace my front brake pads to which i laughed and said, Impossible. I had literally changed them myself approximately 3 months prior. i showed him the pictures on my phone. He asked if I had a minute then jumped in my vehicle, drove it back into the service bay to get the opinion of a different service tech. That tech said no way those pads are brand new. Fast forward to Friday 8/8/25. After speaking with the service manager about potential fraud or attempting to defraud me the manager claimed he was told someone had tampered with the tech's laptop to add another job when he was away for whatever reason. Yeah right I don't buy it and I know the manager doesn't either which is why he offered me a free oil change for this so called mistake. I didn't need one for my vehicle, but my significant other did as she Ubers from time to time. So I get the same service advisor as before. The vehicle this time is a 2024 Chevy Trax. Everything checks out, no recalls, no codes, etc... He says I see you have an oil change on us did we screw up or something. I said nah. He replied oh I'm just being nosey is all. About 3o min later the advisor calls me on my cell and says I just wanted let you know the tech found a nail in the right rear tire which is the passenger side and it's non repairable you'll need a new tire. I can't say for sure if they put it there as you're liable to roll over a nail at any given time on the streets, but come on. Why were you looking at these brand new tires as your only task was an oil change ? You just so happened to find a nail on the side the driver would most likely not see it and she had just cleaned her car earlier in the week, but it can't be fixed. A new tire with mount and balance was $250. So since the oil change was free I'm thinking they were trying to get some money out of me one way or the other. I think some people in this place is running a racket to rack up big commissions. My girlfriend told me how the advisors at Subaru of Sarasota used to stiff the snowbirds for thousands of dollars for work they didn't really need. They would just pull out a checkbook and pen or a credit card. This seems shady to me it just so happened there was a nail in a spot where the tire could not be repaired with a patch for $25 or $30 dollars it had to be replaced. I think the state should send a few cars in there in an undercover capacity to see if consumers are being defrauded. read more

The check engine light came on while I was taking my wife to the Drs. The vehicle had only 1,905 miles on it. To make a long story short, Marhers stated that I would have a 2-3 day wait before it could even be looked at, I left the vehicle even though I felt that that was an unduly long period of time. Here it has been in the shop for going on nine days and still not ready to be released. They have even stated that it is a replacement of basically a simple O2 sensor! Many calls have been made to the service dept and my advisor (Alex Cullinan) but the response is alway, "still with the tech and he's working on it.". I am at my wit's end and ready fie a major complaint with management. My advice to anyone thinking of taking their vehicle to Marher Chevy for service, "DON'T DO IT! THEY WILL KEEP YOUR CAR FOREVER"! My experience started off well enough with a test drive, but very quickly devolved to the point I had to leave as I was so flustered and frustrated. The salesman toted about how they were a no nonsense, no pressure dealership. Great. That was far from my experience with him after the test drive. I told him I could NOT sign anything that day, as I had simply taken a 5 minute test drive and needed to do some thinking about a very serious decision in purchasing a new vehicle and that I would let him know after the weekend so that I could review the numbers and talk it over with my wife. They wanted $950 a month for 84 months WITH a down payment of $2500! $82,300 for a $49,000 msrp truck! I was flabbergasted. I have an 800+ credit score, and was pre approved for $685 a month through my bank. That's more than a $20,000 difference. I didn't tell him that at the time as I wanted to see the numbers they could provide, which were awful. He told me that was "the best they could do" so I tried to end our meeting then and there. Then he runs off to the finance department to "work some magic" and comes back with an offer for $875 a month. Again this was shocking as you're now telling me you're supposedly so willing to just knock $8000 off the total cost of the loan - how much is the markup that you can knock that much off? It was still really high. I told him I still wasn't interested at that number either. In the 15 or 20 minutes this all took he asked me no less than 5 times if I was sure couldn't sign papers, that my wife would love the truck, etc. trying to schmooze me into making a horrible decision. Over and over I said no. This was FAR from no pressure. The worst part was this truck wasn't even what I had specified I wanted, I told him I would rather wait for the right truck and over and over he insisted I just take the one they have because it was close enough. Finally he begrudgingly told me I could order the correct truck and priced it out. I knew I had a pre approval so I told him I wanted it, to order it and I would leave whatever deposit was necessary, and I was going to go home and fill out the final paperwork for it and come back to make it easier for both of us. He didn't want to hear that, so he again wanted to go to the finance department since dealerships get a kick back when financing through themselves even with the same bank. I'm fine with that as long as the numbers aren't egregious, and for a 3rd and final time they were still outlandish. I had had enough and told him I needed to get back to work and thanked him for his time, but the numbers weren't making sense and I would try again at a later date. When I tried to leave he asked me not to so he could go get his boss. I didn't want to talk in circles so I left, and he followed me out of the building and again asked me to wait to wait to talk to his boss. This felt very pressured as I had had enough of being barraged with outlandish numbers and relentlessly asked to sign papers when I had made it clear from the beginning even if the numbers were 0% interest I was not signing anything today, so I left. Before I could make it to the stop light he was calling me telling me I "didn't understand financing" and when I was ready to make a deal to come back. This felt very childish as I both do understand financing - that's the reason I DIDN'T sign the agreement for almost $30,000 in interest on a 50k truck - and didn't feel like a no nonsense and no pressure dealership at all. A few minutes later I got another call from the head of the finance department telling me they could come down even more. This was even more infuriating as now I've had 2 calls in 10 minutes from a "no pressure" team, AND they were willing to come down more!? Why would you not just give me the accurate price so you could make your money and sale? Why the games? They had my credit score right away and clearly ran me for a much worse one for the numbers to come back so horrible. It threw me off so much that I went to a different dealership a couple hours away. Going to this different dealership was so polarizing because they told me EXACTLY what the price and monthly payment would be over email, and when I walked in they played no games. They had papers ready with the correct numbers, I signed and was out of there in a couple hours with the truck I wanted. I don't understand why every dealership doesn't operate that way. Maher is clearly trying to take advantage of people who don't have enough confidence or experience buying vehicles to see past the facade of smiling faces trying to sell them debt they don't deserve. I only wish I could have leased this one but I had too much negative equity in my Camaro and I needed a back seat and opted for my first EV vehicle because touching gas pumps during COVID?! No thank you. Also I'm basically a super educated science believing hippie so the Chevy Bolt EV must made sense for me. They lowered my payment and got me a great interest rate! I was in and out in about 2.5 hours from test drive to driving away. No haggling. No craziness. My only qualm was that I didn't have a full charge on my car when I left, but meh. If I could give less than one star I would. Service department told me I needed a new transmission on my 2015 equinox at a cost of over 9k. I was also charged more than 200 dollars for that diagnosis. I took the vehicle elsewhere (a different Chevy dealer) and they fixed the problem for 1/10 of what Maher said I needed. They replaced the TCM. So I'm out the diagnostic fee but I've been driving without any problems for two months now. Don't trust this place. I don't think they even really looked at the vehicle. I think they simply didn't want to work on it or they are just that incompetent. A quick couple of hundred bucks for a completely wrong diagnosis. read more

After my purchase, it took me 2 weeks to get my vehicle in for some work they owed me. The salesperson would never call me back. I did, and I waited, and asked, and waited, and asked a 3rd time, and waited for over an hour. He never came out - I finally had to beg service to help me out. When I picked my car up, it took another 90 minutes between waiting and having them redo some work that was not correctly done. Then to top it off, they sabotaged my vehicle - yeah I know they will respond to this and call me some crazy guy. First off, someone there tore up my vehicle insurance paperwork in the glovebox. Next when I got home, I noticed that the side window sticker that opens the community gate, no longer worked. Upon further inspection, someone actually cut a small portion off the sticker. WTF kind of people would do this? I told management that I wanted a simple explanation why someone would tear up my paperwork or I would write this review. He called me a crazy guy and probably tore it up myself. It's been 3 days and no response, so here is my reveiw. My husband's 2022 Chevy Silverado would not turn on after a simple oil change. He had his truck towed to a nearby Chevy which happened to be this horrible establishment. The car was towed at around 7pm, after maintenance had closed. We spoke with a sales person out front who said he would notify maintenance team in morning that we had towed vehicle there for service. We spent the whole next day waiting for Chevy's maintenance team to call us for an update or even acknowledgement that they had retrieved car from parking lot. Nothing came. My husband called at around 2-3pm and after multiple attempts, he finally got somebody on the line who said they would LOOK at the car the next day. The next day, he got assigned a client services advisor, Chuck Rice, who advised him nobody had looked at car yet. My husband would constantly call Chuck and the maintenance line for updates but nobody would answer. This so called client services rep continued to ignore my husband's calls and kept pushing off the date they would look at the car. Mind you, my husband NEEDS his car for work and they did not offer us a rental car. We had to pay out of pocket for rental trucks. By this point, the car had been with maintenance team for a whole week and yet, no one had answers to what was even wrong with the car. We show up to Chevy, a week later, and were greeted with a rude receptionist who had no information to give us. We asked to speak with a manager and we met with Ryan. I will say Ryan is the only person there who has good customer service. He explained that there were multiple cars in front of ours and only two warranty certified techs. I explained that we needed to know atleast what was wrong with car. A week and they had not even looked at it! Ryan finally got us some answers and a rental car. The car stayed in the shop for 30 days for multiple fixes. Chuck continued to be a horrible communicator throughout this whole time and would be hostile when asked questions. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for maintenance services. read more
