From the moment I entered the dealership I felt as if I were family. My salesman, Ado, was courteous and well informed on all of my vehicle questions. I have never felt more confident in my car buying experience. Once we got down to brass tax the gang at Maher continued to exceed even the highest expectations with up front pricing, honesty, kindness, and of course smokin hot deals. We were also very starstruck when they brought out the face of the back office, Shea, to explain in very easy to understand terms how we could not only feel good about our purchase today but also for the next 10-15 years by way of overly competitive financing and air tight extended warranty safety. I was so impressed I almost bought two vehicles. Instead I told all my friends that if they are in the market for a high quality new or used vehicle then they need to slide on down to Maher Chevrolet.

Will not return. 24k used vehicle with 5K in fees, 10% interest on the loan. Vehicle was NOT inspected before placing on lot. Monies out just to make it sound. Refinanced the next day.

    I'm loving it already!

A very great experience when buying my new-to-me 2025 Cadillac from the used car dealership. My salesman, Mike Dailey, was very congenial and knows his business. Go see him if you are ready to look at the selection of cars they have.

    Missing antenna cover

I recently purchased a 2025 Chevy Tahoe from Maher Chevrolet in St Petersburg. The transaction was great, from Frank, our salesperson to financing. I've had the car less than a month and purchased every add-on warranty available. But, buyer BEWARE! Their post-purchase service is horrible! The shark fin antenna cover has fallen off the car and they immediately denied culpability. They will not cover the replacement through warranty (to the tune of $615)! This is unheard of and highly disappointing service from Frank and the service team. DO NOT bring your car here!

We had the opportunity to work with Tirk. He was very professional and at no point made us feel pressured to sign anything. Ended up with a 2024 Chevy Trax lease and couldn't be happier! Highly recommend seeking out Tirk for your next purchase/lease.

Robin Shively has worked in sales for many years here, and is honest, straightforward, and low pressure. Buy your Chevy from her.

One had bought 10 cars from them, another had bought 3. Repeat customers are the surest sign that the company treats its customers well! We bought a beautiful old BMW convertible and it is a great pleasure to drive. We chose the hard-top convertible so we could drive w the top down when we're cruising up or down Gulf Blvd in the barrier islands. They were giving the car its final detailing & discovered the front brakes were worn and a tire had a nail in it near the rim where it can't be repaired. They installed new front brakes & new tires before they'd release the car to us. We had already paid for it, yet they didn't charge us extra for these fixes. That's commitment to their stated business principles!! We'll definitely be back. They say what they mean, and mean what they say. Straight dealing. How refreshing!! Nice folks, too, a pleasure to work with!

We dealt with the owner, Jim DiGuiseppe, who also assured us that their vehicle was inspected and there were absolutely no issues with it! Being out of state, we purchased their vehicle based their assurances - a big mistake! Before shipping our trade vehicle to them, we had it detailed, filled the gas tank, and included all the receipts and documents with our car. However, they didn't even put enough fuel in their car so we could drive it to a gas station after picking it up! On the way to get fuel, the car died due to lack of fuel, stranding us! The owner told us that he had a buyer for our car and we agreed to the trade at over $40,000 loss. Upon receiving our vehicle, it was listed on the dealer's site for sale at $10,000 over what was given to us in trade! A total misrepresentation! Regardless, we hope that they'll be able to profit from selling our vehicle. We immediately noticed many issues with the vehicle: altered and inoperative speedometer, missing keys, missing the wind deflector and missing battery charger. Old engine oil, broken dipstick neck, clogged air filters, bald tires, damaged wheels, severe shakes, numerous rattles, and etc. We brought all these to the owner's (Jim DiGuiseppe) attention immediately. He promised that he would look for the missing keys, but he never provided them! Later, he refused to accept any responsibility claiming that he sold the car "AS IS"! He also accused us with trying to coerce him to compensate us in exchange for a good review! All we asked him was if he would cover some of the unexpected and hidden repairs so we wouldn't include them in this review. Photos of the speedometer and the tire attached. So far we have spent over $4,300 and anticipate to spend another almost $16,000, totaling over $20,000 on the car that the dealership and the owner, Jim DiGuiseppe, claimed to be certified and in perfect condition! We are planning to file a complaint with the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Dealer Services. No dealership should be able to sell a vehicle with dangerous and unsafe tires and altered speedometer, among other issues! These are what we have spent so far on their supposedly perfect vehicle! - Replacing the missing keys; $ $1,752. - Repairing 3 wheels; $ 420. - Balancing the wheels $88. - Tires; $757. - Alignment $250. - Oil/filter change: $550. - Air filters: $200. - Missing battery Charger, $210. - Battery connector cable: $94. - Dipstick neck: $18. Ongoing anticipated repairs and replacements: - Wind deflector: $8,083. - Instrument cluster:$6,720, plus $975 labor. - Checking and correcting door rattles by removing door panels: $800 to $1,200. - Other possible issues... To the future buyers from Genuine Motorcars, do not take their words and their ads about the condition of their vehicles! UPDATE: The dealer responded that the car was inspected and not an "AS IS" vehicle!, coming with engine and drive train warranty. We had no problem with drivetrain or engine. If the car was actually inspected, how could they have possibly missed the bald tires and stuck speedometer? We immediately sent the photos of the above to the dealer, but Jim DiGuiseppe's response was that the car was sold "AS IS" and refused to accept any liabilities! Why would anyone replace good tires and clean engine oil, or repair good wheels, cause rattles, and replace clean air filters? If he actually paid for inspection, he should demand a refund. We have receipts for all these and other repairs and replacements. Please see the photos we sent him right after the purchase showing a bald tire and the speedometer stuck on 60 mph when the car is parked! We have purchase many vehicles from out of state. However, we never had any issues with any of them except with our last purchase from this dealership, Genuine Motorcars and the dishonest owner/manager Jim DiGuiseppe. They clearly sold us a LEMON for over $116,000!

As long as you have YOUR shit together, you can guide them into getting their shit together. I…read moreinquired about a truck and it took three calls for them to get back to me about price and what they could do. They ended up deferring the down payment into three payments. The truck could have used a better detail, the headlights are super foggy and the interior was stained. Since detailed it looks good (meaning they just didn't take the extra effort). They gave me the 110pt check, and the carfax. I got the truck Friday and by Sunday the temperature gauge said it was over heating, the air conditioner stopped working, and the coils were freezing. I called and they asked me if I could have my car towed in (on my own dime!?) And they could get a mechanic to look Monday. A truck that supposedly passed the 110pt check two days prior. I declined having it towed and said I would drive it in Monday. Monday comes around the the mechanic fixed my air condionter because it had a burnt out fuse, added freon because it was running low, and checked the temp gauge which is off (engine not overheating). I was not charged for these services, but after 48 hours I wouldn't expect to be! Now keep in mind this is a buy here pay here, you're getting a used car that's going to require maintenance, I get that. I just wasn't expecting to have so many issues so soon after just passing this so called 110pt test. The salesmen told me that I absolutely did not have to take it to a mechanic when I bought it, but I strongly recommend you do. The mechanic was extremely nice and thoroughly explained everything to me. I was annoyed on how dirty my truck was after it was returned, but again, they cleaning doesn't seem like a priority there. All and all, everyone has been very pleasant with me. My issues were fixed in a timely fashion at no extra cost to me. I LOVE my truck and I feel like I got a great deal (from a bhph) that includes a payment for about a year and a halfish. I would recommend them.

very misleading dealership…read more Me and my girlfriend walked in, in the very first thing the guy did was tell us that the entire lot was cash only. Mind you there's signs all over the place either financing or buy her pay here. This was obviously bullshit and bias for some reason the guy did not want to try selling us a car, we even told the guy we had a decent amount of money down. I don't know if it was just because we looked younger because we are in our mid 20s. I don't know. I'm not sure the whole experience which lasted only two minutes unpleasant. Very big red flag I would personally avoid and look at other options instead
