Headlight replacement was too much for them. They looked up the wrong car before I dropped off car and they discovered that a QX60 is a SUV not the Q60 coupe I dropped off. They called me to tell me they reassembled the car without fixing it or calling to ask if I wanted to order the parts. When I asked manager, he tells me I can bring the parts in next time? Auto repair shop that doesn't order parts? Wish I had read all the bad reviews first, not sure how this operation stays in business. Avoid Middleton's Auto like the plague. I brought my 2004 Accord in for a clutch replacement and was met with deception, negligence, and indifference from the front desk and the owner. I scheduled the clutch replacement in advance, but when I dropped the car off Mike, the service manager, seemed to not remember the appointment. Instead of starting right away as promised, the car sat untouched for two days, and I had to chase them for updates. When they eventually started working on the car, Mike told me they would be pulling the entire engine just to make access to the clutch easier. This is not necessary in order to replace the clutch, and, as I will explain, I believe pulling the engine out led to serious issues caused by their negligence. When I finally got the car back, it came with a cascade of new problems. The AC no longer worked because they had simply "forgotten" to recharge it. Days later, the clutch began grinding because they had skipped inspecting the clutch pedal during the replacement. For this oversight, they charged me an additional $75 diagnostic fee and then quoted hours of labor to replace the pedal -- a repair that actually only takes minutes. After only a few hundred miles, the cabin heat failed and the car overheated from coolant loss--almost certainly from sloppy reassembly after the needless engine removal. I had to get the car towed to another shop out of state. When I called Donovan Middleton, the owner, he was rude, dismissive, and refused all responsibility. He brushed off their admitted mistakes as "normal" and told me flatly to go ahead and take the business to court if that's what I felt I needed to do. What should have been a routine clutch job left me with an unsafe, possibly ruined car. Middleton's Auto is negligent, dishonest, and unfit to be in business. Once I receive my car back and assess the full damages, I plan to litigate in Pinellas County Small Claims or Civil Court, depending on the amounts in question. Had my wife take in my 99 Dodge Ram 1500 for a water leak around water pump, was told it needed new water tubes, transmission dropped to replace freeze plug, new trans mount, no problem after a day in shop and $1200 dollars it was done, same day took a trip and it was shifting funny, stopped and checked and it was very low on trans fluid, so added, now I've had this truck for 24 years and added maybe a pintof fluid, now after two months I've added 2 quarts and took pics of spots of fluid on ground,went in and told them about this, first they tried to say they didn't pull transmission,but you charged me for it ,then he said it was probably front pump seal and it had nothing to do with what they did,you had it out and did'nt look at it,and you replaced rear trans seal, but he said they dont mess with transmissions,and it not there fault, no leak before working on it and leaking after work,now I have to pay someone again to remove trans and fix seal while out, which they could of done or let me know while out,I've been in this neigborhood for 68 years, first and last time My vehicles will go there,next time Brewers on 16th and 30th Ave N ! read more

Ugh. I wanted an alignment and oil chenge. After two hours when my car was supposedly "ready" he told me I needed new tires. Right. No problem. But I had priced tires this very morning and wanted an alignment so I didn't drive around on them and wear them unevenly. And, unfortunately this places prices were MUCH higher than anywhere else. No probs. Waste of time since he said he wouldn't do the alignment unless I got the tires. But okay. Then he wanted to charge me for an alignment check. Uhhh.. I didn't need a check. I needed an alignment. Which you refused to do becuz I wouldn't buy overpriced tires from you. I was very patient with the guy but then when he kept treating me disrespectfully I told him the exact prices and places that offered much better deals on similar tires. The guy was a disrespectful jerk. Said he knew it was going to be trouble when he saw me. Ummmm yeah. I wait two hours for you to do the services you agreed to only for you to tell me you won't unless I buy tires from you, and if I won't you want to charge me for services I didn't need or want? This guy is why so many auto places have bad raps. Sadly Ybor Tires which was great and straight forward and honest closed. Today I dealt with several other places but they were wither booked or didn't have the tires in stock. They all had better deals on similar services. Try Storm up in Town n Country. Discount Tires in Pinellas. Big John's. Mike's. Ace. Just avoid this arrogant and disrespectful overpriced rip off artist. read more

Long story short, AAA told me I needed a new alternator and battery. I brought my car to Middleton's off of great word of mouth reviews from people I know. They went out of their way to give me instructions on what to do and where to leave my car in their lot overnight before they could look at it the next day. I get a call and I'm told that my alternator is running fine and all I needed was a new battery. Got that fixed asap and I was able to pick it up next day because I work until after they close. When I picked it up in the morning. I was given a run down of the pre and post tests they conducted with all the information present. Saved me $600. Great place to get your car checked in St. Pete! Will be back if there's ever something wrong with my car. read more

My husband and I took our car to another shop for over 20 years until they permanently closed their garage doors. We were so sad because finding a good mechanic that you can trust is gold. Fortunately a friend of ours recommend Middletons. We took both of our cars there. We are so happy with their service. I had my car towed in due to an idling issue and left only spending less than $40. That's integrity. So happy to not get that "fleeced" feeling. These guys are great! A couple of months ago I had an AC problem with my pick up truck that they fully resolved and saved me over $500.00 ! After a phone call to them I dropped it off over night . The following morning they called as promised with the details. What I appreciated was the thorough explanation to the problem and how they came to that conclusion. Then supported why the suggested course of action with no pressure and straight courteous honesty. I agreed to the work and the AC has been running flawless since. This was after a fiasco of wasted time (2 visits) to at a different "highly reputable" place on 4th that wanted to charge me $900.00 for something that would have not even fixed the problem. Clearly that place was focused on volume and an outdated "good rep". From now on we will be bringing all of our vehicles to Middleton's for any service. OK my Lincoln just flat out died at the Publix. I called these guys-they set up a tow...diagnosed the problem (I was completely wrong) and had me back on the road the following afternoon. Price was fair (involved dropping the fuel tank-which of course I had just filled) and it's running like a top right now. They kept in touch with me, explained the problem in layman's terms and fixed it. I don't know what else I can say. I'm 100% satisfied. Took our 2001 F-150 to Middeltons for a coolant leak. it was determined that the intake manifold had a leak and needed to be replaced. The price was reasonable and the leak was fixed. However during the job rust contaminated coolant was splashed all over the top of the engine. This was never rinsed off before it left the shop and since has baked onto the engine, and may prove difficult to remove. After a week I received a survey call from Middeltons and eventually spoke to the owner by phone and in person. After a quick look and much push back, he determined that they could not clean off all the contaminated coolant that their tech. spilled on the engine, and would do nothing to correct the problem. This affects the value of the vehicle as any potential buyer will notice it right away, and surmise that the truck has a coolant leak(s). This could have been easily avoided by simply rinsing off the engine before it left the shop. Our original mechanic retired and Middeltons was recommended by a friend. However we will never use them again. I don't judge a business by a mistake, but I do give Middeltons a poor review because of the way they handled this mistake. read more
