Delicious, Savory food. I fly around the country for work and have tried many Thai Restaurants. This one outdoes them all! I have tried and can highly recommend their Orange Chicken, Pad Thai, Crab Rangoons, and Spring rolls! The restaurant is geared towards take out, but there are a few tables inside, and there is usually one open. Very high quality food, and the manager who works up front is very nice. Today we had the Orange Chicken and Pad Thai. They were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I would recommend their "mild" spice level for most "medium" spice level enthusiasts. read more

Just go. It's some of the best Thai we've had and we've had Thai all across the US. The spicy basil rice - amazing. Note that this is take out but they do have a couple of tables in the dining room. We have been going for years and plan our timing through Chippewa based on when they are open. I am posting the menu as the info on the internet isn't too accurate. read more

Chippewa Falls has slim pickings when it comes to the diversity in restaurant choices. But if you're looking for something asian, this could be an option. This is a mediocre Thai place, it is not authentic. I repeat it is not AUTHENTIC. Hours of service are terrible and it seems like due to staffing issues, the store gets closed whenever staff is not available. Phone line is always busy and you're not able to get through to place Togo orders. The only time the phone would ring is after hours. The Website is not updated properly, it is not an active site to look for menu options. Look on Yelp or Grub Hub for the menu. If you're not able to get through the phone line, you're better off ordering in person at the store or on a delivery app. Sometimes even if you go to the brick and mortar store, they are closed although hours on the front door are listed as open. Pay attention the the lights on the building. There's 2 lights on the side of the building. If the lights are on, they're open. If the lights are off, they're closed. I've had several options from the menu but the Orange Chicken and Fried Rice are the only thing worth mentioning. These are not specifically considered "thai" food but are popular dishes sold at Asian restaurants. The orange chicken is savory, salty and a little touch of sweet it is served with a side of white rice. The Thai Fried Rice has great flavor and is garnished with tomato and cucumber. Everything else on the menu is pretty bland and lacks the true authentic Thai flavors. The noodle dishes like The Pad Thai and Pad See Yew lack the deep flavors of a traditional noodle dish. Curries should be thick in texture. The curries do not have the right amount of coconut consistency, it appears coconut milk is used instead of coconut cream. The wrong consistency of coconut makes the curries too runny, almost water like. The dishes also lack the herb flavors you would get from fresh kaffir lime or basil leaves. This location has so much potential especially as it's located in central downtown. My recommendation is to take your patronage somewhere else. If you want authentic Thai food, check out Thai Orchid located in downtown Eau Claire, hands down the best Thai food in the area. read more

Just ate here for the third time, first time since they remodeled and i was highly disappointed. The first two times i ate here it was really good. However, i feel they changed the way they cooked along with the decor. My wife ordered Thai fried rice with pork and it was pretty much white rice with some pork thrown in. I doubt we will be back. WOW!!! That word describes our lunch today from Mahli Thai. I ordered the Pad Thai (chicken, spicy) and my SO ordered the Mongolian (tofu, spicy). We walked in and ordered at close to 1pm and waited about 20 minutes for our food as the nice young man at the counter said it would be. They were very busy fulfilling orders. I did notice the place was VERY clean as we waited. My only complaint was that the workers were not wearing masks and I think it's good practice during COVID. We took our food home and it was still piping hot after the 15 minute drive. It was spicy and fresh and tasty!! It was also filling (we had leftovers). Fantastic authentic Thai food in the middle of the little burg of Chippewa Falls! Who would have thought it? Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that I ordered their signature calamari appetizer, and while it tasted great, they must have put half of my portion in someone else's to-go box. There were literally 4 rings of calamari plus lots of leafy things that were more for decoration than anything else. Disappointing as this was a full price appetizer. Would have loved a whole lot more in the container. Wish they also had more tables to actually sit and dine IN. Even if they did it as self serve, I think many people would still like to eat at the restaurant. They certainly have the room. Overall a great place though. read more

Rice and crab Rangoon was good. Unfortunately. They lack good communication. We ordered a beef dish and when It came it was chicken. No way to correct the issue was offered. Except pay for another one. Also the medium non-spicy dish was far and away spicer then the spicy spicy dish we ordered. The Restaurant could be good but need to correct communication and customer service. Overall ended up eating only rice and crab rations for $60 meal as my dish was too spicy to eat and did not want to pay for a different meal that I could eat. read more

I have had lots of Thai foods experience throughout big cities , and I can say that Mahli Thai is a top notch. We ordered Pad see ew with chicken and chicken ginger stir fry. Both were excellent !! I don't live in the town so I am sad thinking not getting foods from this place often but I recommend Mahli Thai to anybody. read more

Having moved to Eau Claire from NY it was really nice to find a nice Thai restaurant semi close by. Food was quick and the servers were all very nice. Both my boyfriend and I both thought the soup could be a little spicier but other than that our meal was good! The food here was flavorful, I had the Pad Thai Chicken, but it had two fatal flaws though - that really disappointed me. 1. The chicken was overcooked - way overcooked - it was somewhat tough and chewy. 2. The pad thai noodles were undercooked - they were also chewy. The fact that my disk was delivered within about 2 minutes of my ordering it should have tipped me off. Apparently they cook the chicken in advance, and then throw the noodles together to make the dish when it is ordered. If they cooked the noodles a bit more, and cooked the chicken to order, I'm sure the dish would be 10x better, and they'd probably get an easy 5 stars from me. Very good! I've had several dishes here, and I'm very pleased to report that they can produce a high spice level (which is so hard to find in the bland midwest). The veggies are nice and fresh, everything is prepared well, and the service is fast. There are some Americanized dishes for the unadventurous, as well as more authentic ones. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Mahli Thai. We enjoyed two orders of Orange Chicken, the Mushroom Basil Stir Fry, and Pineapple Curry. Each was excellent. Mahli Thai is definitely worth making a special trip for! Both dinners (sesame chicken and pad prik king) were amazing. You can tell everything is fresh - beautiful, bright veggies and chicken that looked like it was just cut. I wish I had thought to take a picture of my dish, because it was seriously beautiful. The atmosphere/decor are also lovely (real arrangements of adorable spray roses on the tables!). Our server was friendly and helpful, even on a busy Saturday evening. Prices were comparable to most Thai restaurants in the area ($8-15 per entree), but had a more varied selection than I've seen in other places. Although you don't get the monstrous portions that other places serve, the quality is much higher. read more

I usually end up taking half of mine home for lunch the next day. We always get the Mahli Flower as an appetizer. This is an order of 4 deep fried wontons with crab, celery, scallion, and cream cheese. Dip them in the sweet tangy sauce with crushed peanuts. They will melt in your mouth. The pad thai with chicken is amazing. It tastes so fresh. It is made with thin flat rice noodles, eggs, green onions, carrots, bean sprouts & peanuts in a tangy, sweet, savory & spicy sauce, and garnished w/ cabbage, lime & fresh herbs. I ordered mine without the bean sprouts. The cilantro and lime make this pad thai stand out from other places. I also ordered it with medium spice. It was very flavorful. My husband had the orange chicken. It wasn't as visually appealing, but just as tasty. It is made with deep fried battered chicken breast pieces tossed w/ mildly spicy, mandarin orange peel sauce, garnished w/ green scallions. served w/ steamed jasmine rice. Not the very best Thai I've had, but VERY good. Singha beer was good. Lemon grass soup was among the best soups I've ever had. Interpretation of pad kra pow was interesting and different but very tasty - more fresh veggies in it, which made it even better. Had that extra spicy. I'm very happy that this restaurant is open and I plan to be back frequently. If you like Thai, you will love Mahli Thai. They also have a number of Chinese dishes. Chippewa Falls' first Thai restaurant--yay! I was visiting town and enjoyed dinner here soon after the restaurant open. We were the first party there for dinner, but by the time we left they were doing a brisk dine-in and carryout business. My party enjoyed the stuffed chicken appetizer and the calamari appetizer. I wanted the other folks in my group to try my entree, which was new to them, so I kept it mild and so I can't speak to whether or not the spicy level meets the expectations of those of us who enjoy it. My lad na was good and the ingredients were fresh. Since the other folks in my party were new to Thai cuisine and not feeling adventurous, they stayed on the familiar to them Asian restaurant menu items which include a couple varieties of fried rice and a selection of Chinese dishes.
