The strength training uses exercise bands again I was skeptical I lift regular at another gym and this work is intense. This workout is 45 minutes but you don't stop the entire time. They do a 10 week for challenge so that you learn the moves and can practice and master them before they really speed up. Once you start hitting the bag it makes the whole thing awesome a really sick way to take our energy and stress.

Similar to…read moreevery other Snap I've been to they have a very good mix of free weights and exercise machines. Dumbbells from 5lb up to 100lb, treadmills, ellipticals and even a stair stepper. There's also plenty of cable equipment and a plate loaded leg press in the corner. There is a single lonely squat rack, but there is no dedicated bench press so you have to share. Its a pretty popular piece of equipment during peak hours. No shower, like other Snaps, but they do have a clean bathroom and that is always a plus. My only minor complaints are that a couple of the barbells are old enough that they've begun to rust and from what I could see there was only a single sanitizing wipe dispenser. Not a huge issue, but I've seen other similarly sized Snaps with 3 or 4. No one wants to sit in someone else's sweat. Overall a fairly well equipped and capable gym. I've stopped in here a few times and never had any real issues. More than enough equipment to meet the needs of most people.

TA DA!! oh, and I also have a few exercises to do for the rotator cuff thing. haven't gymmed since senior year of high school so I really have no point of reference here, all I can tell you is it's planet fitness! looks like there's enough fitness equipment here to fill a small planet so we'll give them that. most of it has a bit of a "getting around" feel to it: treadmills, bikes (recumbent and otherwise), and ellipticals... with a few dozen assorted strength training things and some free weights for those so inclined. pretty good mix that seems to reflect the local demand so yea! additionally there's a couple of areas dedicated to specific workouts and training plans for people with more focus than time... maybe I'll get there eventually but right now I just need to get moving again and remedy a few minor injuries. $25 a month to make that happen with the option of getting a shower in my choice of over 2000 locations world wide seems a good deal to me.

I have been on this app for a long time so you will just have to trust me, and if you do trust me, then I can tell you that this is a 4.77-star gym, which we will round up to a 5. First let's hit the positives. This is a big gym. If you like big gyms, you're in the right place. And you're going to get a great workout. Unless I have to get back to work, I usually work out for about 1 hr and 15 minutes. If I need to get back to work, about 15-30 minutes but intensity way up (shorter time = higher intensity). If you want Smith machines, you will find heaven. The big 'negative' is that it's no racks but the Smith machines and free weights will get the job done. If you go at an off-peak time, you will have plenty of room for free weights. If it's lunch or dinner, good luck! They have two Pec Decks and one is the best Pec Deck I have ever experienced. It controls the correct motion/for for you. I feel a superb burn after using that mfer! You also get a bunch of universal machines with cables, an ab workout room, and more cardio equipment than you would find in a training facility for Ultra Marathoners in Argentina. Stairclimbers--I like the stairclimbers but they don't have as many hang-on-for-dear-life areas as AF did. But that can be a good thing. I don't recommend using the one closest to the rail/front door because people walk through that little crevice and it's awkward--it's always going to be awkward when you drip sweat on a stranger. Well .... most of the time. The staff is great. Always working and friendly. Don't listen to the Karens and Chads. For the record, I have never had a problem with any Karens but have yet to meet a Chad I like. The bathrooms are okay. Only two urinals and two stalls. This doesn't seem to be enough for the amount of traffic they get but we survive. Overall, I highly recommend this gym. Keep in mind, they charge your debit card, not your credit card. Also, side note to the dudes in the gym--the other dudes there aren't your competition; they are there for the same exact reasons as you. You're competing against yourself (if you want to be happy and have a sustainable fitness lifestyle).

This afternoon, I felt extremely unsatisfied with the YMCA, specifically this branch. I am writing this review today due to an extremely unprofessional and unpleasant experience I had with a front desk lady at the Davidson location. I had just rejoined with a different branch, and my information wasn't processed through to this location, and the front desk lady was unhelpful, and simply not friendly at all, and had made multiple comments to not only myself but to whom had joined me as well. The YMCA is a Christian non-profit organization, and I believe as a Christian and as an older woman with life experience especially in a job setting, you should understand that you never know truly what a single person has going on in their lives, no matter what smile, humor, and youth they bring to you. I wish this woman well, but no one; no matter of any age should be treated in such ways, especially in a Christian environment, and that implies to all, including myself. I just wish to see better treatment towards customers and members from employees at this location, and understand cruel judgement in any form isn't the Christian way.
