I was visiting from out of town and had issues with my car on the drive. They were able to quickly identify and fix the issue at a reasonable price. I am not very knowledgable about cars but they were able to explain the issue thoroughly without giving off a demeaning vibe. The first time I drove it after getting it back it was still driving a little weird. I have purchased many cars from Mahomet Car Connection as well as having my cars repaired by them as well. They are honest, and very friendly. I would highly recommend them. For example, I asked them to replace my front brakes and was expecting a typical large bill. But when I went to pick up my vehicle, they told me that they just cleaned out the brake dust and that there was plenty of pad left so no need to replace the brakes. They could have done the work and charge me for a complete brake job and I would not known there was just brake dust. Not many shops would be this honest. read more

I can't say enough about the people at Mahomet Car Connection. I was evacuating from Hurricane Irma in Florida. Stressed and tired, my car broke down on the highway. I found myself at the Mahomet Car Connection after they were recommended by another car shop closer to the highway. Jess and Jeff were SO nice; honestly like angels. When it looked like I'd need to leave the car with them, they offered us a ride to the airport to get a rental. The car was done much sooner than expected and so reasonable for the level of service. If you have a foreign car and find yourself broke down and exasperated by the side of the road, just pray you're within towing distance of this awesome establishment. This is the way car buying should be. I waited a bit to write this review, just to be sure the car we bought really was as good as it seemed. It is! In January 2011, we bought a 2002 Honda Accord in ridiculously good condition (it drives like it just pulled off the factory floor), and no one who looks at it can believe how great a price we paid for such an amazing vehicle. The Mahomet Car Connection was fair, well-priced and treated us with respect for every single step of the buying process. It'd been years since my husband and I looked for a car, and we were very concerned about being taken advantage of, as well as getting a car that would be worth our money. Not only did the Mahomet Car Connection offer a free transmission warranty (and I do mean free - not wrapped up into the price or anything) on the car for 30 days after purchase to help protect us against getting a lemon, but they had no trouble with us taking the car in to have other mechanics check it over before purchase. "Negotiating" the price was a breeze, as they were extremely fair and reasonable. Jeff Alsop was a pleasure to deal with, and like the others at the Car Connection, he really knew his stuff.
