We had already been misled by the Finance Manager. They had our salesman call and apologize when he wasn't the problem. That young man was always kind and respectful. It's the Office Staff who met us at the door under direction of the "Office Manager" that treated us terribly. The Office Manager or Sales Manager should have called to give us a heads up of the situation but no one bothered to call.

Zach was my salesman, great young man, very understanding, even JP the sales manager was very understanding at the time. However, there are two things that I found that bother me with the vehicle after I had purchased it both of which I feel should've been taking care of prior to me, taking possession of the vehicle. When I test drove the vehicle, I did not notice that there was a tire pressure monitor sensor that was out. Seen as I had spent close to 20 grand for this vehicle. I would've at least expected them to have replaced at least that one sensor if they would've been generous about it they could've easily replaced all four sensors in the tires. The other issues that I have with the vehicle that while they were getting it prepped for me to pick it up. Would've been to do a fresh oil change on the vehicle. Both of these are considered minor repairs and probably would've taken about an hour to do maybe two at Max. My overall experience with this company was good, on the days that I picked up the vehicle Zach was out of town on personal business and I dealt with Tony another salesman. Very nice gentleman, although I am still disappointed in the fact that they sold me a vehicle with a bad TPMS sensor and that they did not do a fresh oil change on the vehicle or reset the display if they had done a fresh oil change on the vehicle.

Ryan continues Jim's commitment to doing excellent work and helping customers maintain their automobiles at reasonable prices. More than once Ryan has told me that I'd save money taking my car elsewhere to a place that had the tools to do it. One minor change is that Ryan no longer wants to do oil changes as the costs of having so many different brands and grades of oil in the shop had become prohibitive. He'll do them, but he wants something like $50 as he now goes to the store to buy the oils you want to use. That said, he's always been extremely honest and affordable whenever we've had repairs done there. It's still called Anderson's ( and Jim even occasionally is to be found there when things are busy), but under Ryan it remains an excellent repair shop. ___________ Old Review Below_____________ Anderson's is a small, unimpressive looking auto repair business on Country Fair in Champaign, between Springfield and John Streets. But they have earned my trust and become my go-to repair shop. Jim Anderson, the original owner is not around as much after he retired, but he made sure the shop is in good hands and he is around the shop from time to time to work on cars and check on things. I am not sure if he sold the business or simply hired more workers since he retired. In any event, the important point is that they are scrupulously honest and highly competent. If there is a repair beyond their ability they will let you know immediately and not try to fix it themselves For example, they don't do body work. I've never had a problem with their work, never had to bring a car back, and always found their prices reasonable, even low. More than once I've taken a car in and they tell me the fix is unnecessary or much smaller than I expected. Recently I took my van in because the brakes were squealing whenever I depressed the pedal. Expecting that I needed a brake job or rotors, I was told that when they took the wheel off they noticed the brakes had a lot of life in them but had visible rust and dirt. Their recommendation, drive the car more often; it got rusty because it sits so much of the time. He recommended that riding the brakes for a mile would be a really quick cure and wouldn't hurt anything, and he was right! He could have sold me an expensive brake job, but instead he solved the problem with no charge, not even for his time! He will always ask if you want the expensive fix or if you want the "good enough" fix when one exists. As far as I can tell, using him for ten years now, he's never sold me unneeded repairs. Even my wife feels comfortable taking her car to him without me accompanying her. He doesn't treat women any differently than he treats men. He won't take advantage of women or young people either. That said, I'm not sure I would take a car to him if I needed a transmission rebuild or something really specialized. My hunch is it would be OK, but I have no experience with this kind of major repair (knock on wood!). If I need one, I'll ask if he can do it, but I can say for certain that he can or cannot do such repairs. His prices, even for "expensive jobs," are always really good. Better than any other place I've found. Much better than dealerships, but that is no great feat. But his prices are always better than other independent garages I've been to. A lot of my friends use Rick's Auto in campustown, and I've used him too. Karch runs a fine shop, but Anderson's matches their quality at a much better price. All in all, I think you should feel good taking your car to Andersons. They'll do a great job and they will tell you if you should take it elsewhere.

I bought my vehicle from them the second week of December 2025. It is now February of 2026, only 2 months later. I did not drive my vehicle between December 30th, 2025 and January 28th, 2026. When I purchased this vehicle, Emeka (owner? Or at least manager) guaranteed me "I won't have any problems with this vehicle." Sure, what they all say. Well last week I had some routine service done on it and asked for an inspection. The shop found multiple serious issue that they confidently confirmed that had been an issue for a while. Multiple fluid leaks and all the struts were bad, one so bad that it's literally falling apart. (Picture included). It's evident that it has been falling apart and it wasn't properly inspected. Now, I'm not one to just get on here and bash a business before contacting them to see if they will make it right. Which I did. I called last Thursday and spoke with another employee, emeka was unavailable so the employee said he would have emeka call me. I never got a call so I called back today (Tuesday) and got that same employee. I mentioned that emeka never called me back and that employee stated that emeka said there's nothing they can do. So I asked, "So when emeka guaranteed me I wouldn't have any problems with this vehicle, he's not going to honor his word?" And the employee stated "I guess not" and that was the end of the conversation. Once again, stay far away from this dealership.

For example, I asked them to replace my front brakes and was expecting a typical large bill. But when I went to pick up my vehicle, they told me that they just cleaned out the brake dust and that there was plenty of pad left so no need to replace the brakes. They could have done the work and charge me for a complete brake job and I would not known there was just brake dust. Not many shops would be this honest.

I needed to make sure the car was in good working order both to satisfy the terms of the divorce and for my own peace of mind. I had worked hard to take good care of that car for almost a decade before I lost access to it and I was terrified my ex might have messed it up. Especially because there was a lot of scratching and minor damage on the front of the car that looked like my ex had hit something. Every place in town was booked up or wouldn't inspect mechanical AND body damage. Tire monkey got me booked for a full inspection within a week of my call. They checked everything out in only an hour. And they did it for much less than the other places in town. They gave me peace of mind that my car was safe and the service was friendly too.

I'm sick of businesses playing with people's time and money, and getting away with it! The entire purchase was completed online, as I live over 1800 miles away. I was in the market for a new car and was taking my time, but honestly, was over car shopping at that point. In fact, based on previous experiences, I decided to shop solely online--it was exhausting! I eventually landed on Autotown for a specific vehicle, in addition to a few other dealerships with the same trim, also out of state--they, however, all had a third of the mileage (a couple of them had less than a third) and cost a bit less, so I was iffy on this listing from the jump. I reached out via Autotown's website to submit an offer (this feature is just decorative, apparently). Ben responded, completely ignoring my offer, which was more in line with what others were selling it for, again, with less mileage and more transparency about the condition of the vehicle. I should have trusted my gut, then. When I mentioned my offer, he went on basically discussing how it was a luxury vehicle, that he couldn't go down on the price, how awesome it was, and how his wife was driving it at the time and loved it! *eye roll* Imagine listing a vehicle at a specific mileage, but it's currently being driven daily. He also had a Carfax listed for the vehicle that wasn't updated, but said his trusted mechanic maintained and inspected it, but that he wasn't hooked up with CarFax--another red flag. All in all, those emails felt like I was engaging with a smarmy used car salesman--turns out, I was! I moved on after the initial emails--I wasn't feeling the vibe. I contacted the other dealers--one was regrettably unable to complete the purchase fully online, but I wasn't crazy about the color, anyhow. The other took a bit to get back to me. Unfortunately, I heard back from them after having already started this purchase with Autotown, and being over searching and waiting. Ben reached out with pictures--my signal to negotiate, but I didn't; I truly was over talking to salespeople. I had asked very specific questions about the car's function and cosmetic imperfections--I was very clear about not wanting/having time to have work done. "The car is as close to brand new as it gets. Not a scratch on it. I looked hard to find an issue and I can't."-Ben I moved forward with the purchase and TWO HARD PULL CREDIT INQUIRIES later (I financed it through a local credit union), I was setting up shipping. Parts of this process were easy, credit to Ben--had he not been a snaky liar, I wouldn't have been here, even though he could have done more to negotiate the price. Turns out the Carfax, the listing condition, and pictures Ben sent, were not up-to-date, and there appeared to be further deceptive attempts (brainlessly executed, by the way) to cover up the damage--some temporary white substance that washed away with a spray of water. There was a very obvious dent and paint gash on the passenger door, a few small paint imperfections that I could have ignored if they hadn't arrive covered up--looked like a natural fade--and significant damage to at least one rim (which was rotated over to the driver side. Deliberately? I'm not sure, but definitely strange). Ben knew the damage existed before sending me the car, as he had to sign off on it for shipping. There were also more owners listed on the title than the Carfax originally stated. I wrote Ben about this--he initially feigned confusion, then blamed me for not requesting a video to catch the damage, but ultimately sent a $500 check to appease me, with no estimate for the damage. The work for the door damage at an auto repair shop would have been 2-3x that! Out of frustration and lack of time--because I would have needed a rental and everything else while the work was being done--I, regrettably, took the easy way out and did paintless dent repair, which was cheaper and faster, but not up to par with the condition I expected and was promised. I shouldn't have, but Ben reimbursed this. Sure, he somewhat resolved it, but got off easy, regrettably. I like the vehicle I purchased. Aside from the above issues, they could have done a better job deep cleaning the inside, and the charging pad under the radio initially didn't work because there was an ink pen stuck under it--something they should have caught during a true inspection (it worked after removing the pen)--but I didn't find any other issues with it. However, I wouldn't patronize again, nor recommend this place. The whole experience rubbed me the wrong way, but lesson learned! Trust your gut. Kevin and Ben, I believe Ben is the owner, my first experience with Kevin he helped me get into a used 2019 Buick Regal.... Honestly I love the car one of the best cars ived ever owned and with the price it was worth it! With only 52k miles on it I thought I was gettin an amazing deal but after having the car for a few days I realized that it had an issues with the gas pedal.... I contacted auto town to let them know about the issues and they immediately had me bring the car back so they could figure out the problem.... After weeks of trying to track the problem there was no real luck of fixing the issues so they owner Ben gave me the opportunity to switch into a different vehicle! Even tho I loved the 2019 Buick Regal I honestly feel like I got a Wayyyy better deal by switching to the 2019 Chrysler 300 all Black with the tinted windows! Ben worked with me on the numbers so that all of equity that I had from the other car went into the Chrysler! Ived had the Chrysler for about 2 months now and I'm loving the car I'm able to pick up my kids out of town about 2 hours away, make it back and forth too work with no issues, take comfortable joy rides without any issues. I honestly love the car and I'm glad that I picked AutoTown for my vehicle, I've recommended to a few of my coworkers to get a car from here and honestly I'm pretty sure I'll get my next car from here too! And I forgot to mention while I was having troubles with the Buick I had to leave the car with AutoTown for a few days while they track down the problem, they were nice enough to give me a loaner car until I got my vehicle back!
