Embarassing :( We ordered the 100 piece for 85$ + an extra…read more30 pieces of avocado on a phone call for pick up about 2 hours later, we were 30 min late to come get it. I think they just left it on the counter in a bag the whole time instead of a fridge, or they gathered older pieces and threw them into our order, because the rice was hard and crunchy while others overly soft, and the avocado was brown instead of green. Maybe they thought we were not going to complain since it was take out? BITCH! I'M COMPLAINING! Now, I've ordered sushi from other places before, left it in my own fridge overnight, and it was still yummy the next day. That is why I feel something funny happened with this order, because the rice was hard for alot of pieces, while others were too soft. Kamakazee was soft, no flavor in everything, and avocado was brown and blotchy instead of a healthy green. The only thing that was good, was the pickled ginger and the fact that their little cups of soy sauce was actually enough for each person. And they gave plenty of ginger and wasabe. All this is where they earned their 1 point rating I'm forced to give them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big sushi expert. I frequent all-you-can-eat sushi, so I know what to expect. I was always a big fan of Kanda's back when they were near Fairview. I looked online and saw they were the cheapest for take out on large orders, so tried them out on their sources location. Very sad. This was supose to be a surprise for my sister, who just delivered a baby, and didn't want to go out yet. She's been craving sushi for a year lol and... this was what we brought her lol she barely touched it... and was too polite to complain. She is not a sushi expert either, since she use to adore coming with us to these cheap all you can eat sushi places... This was bad. Very, very bad. I have not tried this locations' indoor all-you-can-eat, but I'm scared to now. They don't seem to care. Well... fk you too then, right?

Got the same as usual, volcano poke bowl (fave order) and to my disappointment, it was a good 1/3 portion smaller. I paid almost $15 for it! Also, veryyy slow service. Took 20 minutes to get my lunch and the place was pretty empty... not sure I'll be back often! The Westmount location is still my favourite.

Although you will find that (not stale though), and it's pretty good, if you have time for a proper sit-down meal, you will be pleasantly surprised to find some of the better sushi in the city. Here are my favourites: - 911 - Sweetheart - Philly - Saumon épicé - Inferno - Smoky (All of that costs about $50 tax-in). This sushi is seriously GREAT. I have but one complaint about the restaurant, and that is that it's sub-zero in there. And I mean like, arctic-cold. Year round. In summer, I have to bring a sweatshirt. And in winter, nothing will do. Tonight I had to wear my jacket, a huge scarf around my head and neck, and leather mitts (not the easiest to eat with chopsticks but kudos to me, I did it!). They actually have air conditioning going all year round. A constant cold blast of air coming from the vents, which you can't avoid no matter where you sit. I truly don't get it. Speaking of sitting, they have some cute little tables with comfy couches and arm chairs to sit in... There are only a handful of tables in the place, but never more than 1-2 tables are occupied when I've been here. I think a lot of people do take-out. Anyway, dress for the North Pole and head over to this sushi shop and you'll walk away cold on the surface but warm on the inside from having had some seriously tasty eats.

We were seated in the semi private area which has two tables and can accommodate 16 people comfortably... Maybe 2 more if you squeeze a bit. Drinks: I decided to embrace the unique experience by ordering a Ramune pop where you have to punch down a glass bead so that you can pour the soda. It's served into a glass with a lime flavored popsicle to give it extra flavor. Ordering: the way the menu works is that everyone gets the same things included with their meal. The only thing different is the protein ordered. - Onion broth: thin but oh so packed with umami flavor! - Salad: pretty good with light vinaigrette - Mushrooms: mmmhh fried and covered in soy sauce - Shrimp: delish and drown it in the tangy dipping sauce - Mixed Veggies: helps balance all the meatiness - Addictive ground ginger soy sauce: can eat this with everything! - Tangy chili sauce: love the flavor - Bowl of rice - Orange creamsicle ice cream: yay for ice cream! - Cup of Jasmine tea: wash down all that flavor The meats: with 3 choices of beef from least to most expensive--Beef Samurai, Sirloin, Filet Mignon. I went middle of the road with the sirloin but was able to taste the filet mignon off my friend's plate. Conclusion: filet mignon cut up in cubes had a rich beefy flavor that comes from the fat in the meat that is seared. It's really good, super tender and juicy. The sirloin also cooked and cubed has a flatter taste but still really tender and delicious. If budget is not an issue, go with the filet mignon, your taste buds will be singing! Staff was friendly and polite. The cooks, depending who you get make their own jokes to entertain you while cooking. Our cook did this knife flipping thing with his chef's knife into it's holster several times like it was nothing. I could just envision myself trying that and losing fingers and toes in the process!!! Overall, it's just a touch pricey but I loved the experience! We were all very satisfied. It's good sized portions guaranteeing that nobody will leave hungry. The place filled up by 6pm where every table was occupied. I will go back again!
