    Tiramisu

Not impressed by the food. Had the table d'hôte for dinner, and got the sushi and sashimi combo. The maki's were very thinly cut to make more pieces. There was also not a lot of fish in them. It was obvious that the fried ones were old, because the fish roe has had time to stain the rice. The sashimi and sushis did not taste fresh either; I've had better grocery store sushi than this. I didn't even finish my sashimi's, which is definitely a first. Many of my friends didn't finish theirs either. The salad and the tiramisu were not bad; the portion and price were reasonable too. The service was good although slow, but we were a lot of people. 1/5 star for the sushi, 3/5 stars for the rest.

This place is very good. It was my first time and I went because I was told it was better than Maiko which is right next door. I ordered only the chef specials. I loved 5 out of 7 rolls we chose. And two were out of this world. Their fish is fresh and I love that the pieces are not gigantic. Each roll comes with 8 pieces per roll so you can fully enjoy a few bites of each. My absolute favorite rolls were besame mucho and salmon sensation. Wow! I would definitely come back. The price is reasonable for good quality sushi. 7 specialty rolls filled two people with a big appetite. We also had white wine and the prices are also very good between 35-46$ a bottle for good white wine. I do agree that it is better than maiko by far!!

This place is located in the West Island, behind a strip mall. Place was pretty full when we got there on a Saturday evening. Their specialty is sushi but we had a craving for teriyaki. Took the salmon teriyaki as well as the beef teriyaki. Salmon was well cooked and delicious but beef wasnt good. Took some tempura as appetizer which was good. Sashimi plate was satisfying as well. I find the tempura plates are overpriced...overall good. Enjoy!

One of my favourite spots to visit when I get back to Montreal. Their appetizers are phenomenally elaborate - and so, so tasty. Wait staff are really nice, and the service is great ... plus they usually have some really cool local art on the walls. I'd recommend their seaweed salad and just about all of their spicy rolls (and I'm not usually a spicy roll fan). Best part - the sushi is actually fresh.

Site of the first date with my love and I...very beautiful presentation for their food and very fresh. But...I know the chef left for Katoreya years back..and to be honest...the food and prices are better at Katoreya, as is the service. I gave it 4 stars because it is still very good and they have lowered their prices and have a table d'hôte that is a good deal. The environment is pretty, but far from intimate. I like that they showcase local artist's work to purchase. It was incredibly sweet for my boy to surprise me with this walk down memory lane..it is worth a visit, but my loyalty stays with Katoreya.

I was really surprised by this place! Wasn't expecting much frankly. Aikawa has the same owners as Sho-Dan and offers more of a down-to-earth atmosphere while keeping the same quality in their sushis. I went there for a take-out and was pleasantly greeted and served by their host. She has been able to ask the kitchen to accommodate my requests without charging me extra and gave useful advices on how I should order while maximizing the amount of sushis I can get for the same price. The sushis came in a high-quality circular take-out box and was presented very nicely. The choices were creative and flavorful. But i must admit that it was a little pricey as well but all worth it!

This is my 3rd visit. I came for dinner with my friend on the 28th. We made a reservation in case, but there was plenty of tables available. The overall service was very good, friendly staff. I really like the decor and paintings on the wall. You can even purchase them if you want. I like how there are tvs which display the food, it gives you a visual of what you are ordering. We each got a sushi platter which was a good amount of food. My platter were just 3 different makis including the chef specialty called Twister. I finished with tiramisu and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The staff was nice to wait until we finished, they did force us put even though they were about to close. The location is hidden and tucked away making it difficult for some to see when passing a by. My friend never knew it existed until she went on Yelp.

Greatest Sushi in West Island, probably in the whole Montreal. A bit pricey but totally worth it.

We were seated in the semi private area which has two tables and can accommodate 16 people comfortably... Maybe 2 more if you squeeze a bit. Drinks: I decided to embrace the unique experience by ordering a Ramune pop where you have to punch down a glass bead so that you can pour the soda. It's served into a glass with a lime flavored popsicle to give it extra flavor. Ordering: the way the menu works is that everyone gets the same things included with their meal. The only thing different is the protein ordered. - Onion broth: thin but oh so packed with umami flavor! - Salad: pretty good with light vinaigrette - Mushrooms: mmmhh fried and covered in soy sauce - Shrimp: delish and drown it in the tangy dipping sauce - Mixed Veggies: helps balance all the meatiness - Addictive ground ginger soy sauce: can eat this with everything! - Tangy chili sauce: love the flavor - Bowl of rice - Orange creamsicle ice cream: yay for ice cream! - Cup of Jasmine tea: wash down all that flavor The meats: with 3 choices of beef from least to most expensive--Beef Samurai, Sirloin, Filet Mignon. I went middle of the road with the sirloin but was able to taste the filet mignon off my friend's plate. Conclusion: filet mignon cut up in cubes had a rich beefy flavor that comes from the fat in the meat that is seared. It's really good, super tender and juicy. The sirloin also cooked and cubed has a flatter taste but still really tender and delicious. If budget is not an issue, go with the filet mignon, your taste buds will be singing! Staff was friendly and polite. The cooks, depending who you get make their own jokes to entertain you while cooking. Our cook did this knife flipping thing with his chef's knife into it's holster several times like it was nothing. I could just envision myself trying that and losing fingers and toes in the process!!! Overall, it's just a touch pricey but I loved the experience! We were all very satisfied. It's good sized portions guaranteeing that nobody will leave hungry. The place filled up by 6pm where every table was occupied. I will go back again!

"Last night" was a Thursday, which means the all-you-can-eat price was a whole $2 cheaper lol - still, as I previously mentioned, if you are a big sushi eater, $39.99 or even $41.99 isn't bad at all. Unfortunately service wasn't as good this time. It looked like they had less staff working. They had two very large groups there, and most other tables were occupied. We were placed in a corner and it seems they kind of forgot about us for a while - dirty dishes weren't picked up, some stuff my friend ordered was never delivered, and we were never shown a drinks menu (we both don't usually drink alcohol during the work week, so that was whatever, but it would have been nice to be offered). I also noticed that some of the makis I liked last time, weren't offered this time - it's very possible that they have some rolls available only on the weekend (I've seen this elsewhere), so I get that, but it was disappointing. Overall would I still come back - yes - but probably only on the weekend if I have a choice.

We came in without a reservation and they made us feel welcome! We got checked in and vetted with all the covid rules (vax pass and sanitizer first) and got seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and very sweet. She showed us how to order online with our phones. Very interesting system ! I loved how the food is brought to us by a baby elevator .. I guess the kitchen is in a different level! Food: They brought out some starters that tasted delicious I was so impressed with the cucumber starter dish so yummy with a kick to it. We got kimchi , marinated onions and then the Chop suey was delish too ! Every dish had awesome flavours. We went ahead and ordered different meats and shrimp. My all time favourite was the ox tongue soo good The grill was getting dirty as we were cooking so much on it she changed it for us that was nice as well. There is ample parking as they have there own parking lot and there is also a bus stop a few meters down the street. The restaurant is a small quite place and has about 15 tables insides. The menu is down all online as well as the ordering process. The staff was friendly and was able to explain everything properly. We stated off with some vegetable that we grilled. The vegetables were raw and unseasoned. We had the following vegetables. Onions and zucchini and mushrooms. We grilled them and we had to dip them in the sauces to add flavor. For the meats. Short ribs were extremely fatty and chewy and the seasoning was bland. Short ribs on no bone Was very fatty and chewy and the way it was cut was like it was cut by hand not even made it hard to grill. Ox tongue Had same seasoning as the short ribs. Not much flavor in the sauce. It was ok nothing special. Pork belly Was cut so small made it hard to grill properly. No seasoning on the pork belly. Pineapple Was fresh and not canned and we grilled it as well. It's a nice place but with a few improvements it can be a winner.
