Similar experience to Cheryl V. I ordered the perch fish sandwich, It was dry, overcooked. Seemed like it had been under a heat lamp all day. Bun was burn (black) on the edges. I ask for cheese to be added and it was melted it looked like the coating on the fish, like they microwaved it. Lettuce was wilted. Didn't come with tarter sauce, so I asked for some and she brought it...but was charged .69 cents for it. Who charges for tarter sauce for fish sandwich?! My wife had the shrimp dinner, which she liked (and the only reason this review is a 2 star and not a 1 star)...I don't think she was charged for the cocktail sauce that came with it? I have been a few other times and was not super impressed. It is a nice enough place. On previous visits, my steak was over cooked and they ran out of menu items. I will not be going back. I want to support the local establishments but prices keep going up and quality and service keep declining. Never again! Had to ask if they were going to seat us or we just picked a table, ok we picked a table. Ordered a perch sandwich with their house chips. The server asked if I wanted tartar sauce... ok. My husband ordered the clam chowder with a side of chips. My draft beer was flat and his wine tasted like vinegar. When our food came the server lost half of my chips on the floor and brought my husband the wateriest and greasiest clam chowder he has ever had. She also brought a salad we didn't order. When we tried to tell her that we ordered a side of house chips, not a house salad, she turned and walked away. I had no silverware which I had to go get. By then my food was cold. The bill came...$50. Which included $.70 for the tartar sauce for the fish, and $4. for the side of chips! The hubs is in bed with an awful stomach ache. Hey there, this place has good food. Quality, presentation, flavor, and quantity are all quite good. You're just not going to get anything that surprises you and different from a lot of other places. Me and my husband had dinner here last night, the atmosphere was good until some guy in the kitchen started screaming at the bartender. Everyone in the restaurant was staring at this guy yelling and acting a fool, it was embarassing. I asked our server who that guy was and she said it was their chef. When we got our burgers they were overdone and flavorless. My husband asked how this guy calls himself a chef when he just pulls patties out of a box, can't even put some salt and pepper on them? We almost sent them back, but didn't want the "chef" to have a temper tantrum on our server too. We won't be back unless they can find someone who can control their outbursts in the kitchen and learn to season the food! read more

I guess I was expecting more variety or higher end food. I'm sure most people could find something they liked on the menu. We each had a French onion soup. Super yummy! Highly recommend. I ordered the chicken finger platter which came with a side salad and Mac and cheese. The chicken was 3 large, hand breaded tenders. More of a breast cut into strips I think. Not much flavor in the breading but far better than a premade, frozen tender. The Mac and cheese would probably excite some- it has to be something really special to excite me. This last experience will be the last time we visit, sorry to say!! Our experience went like this...we walk in, very few people, great! No one was there to greet us and it was almost 6 minutes before the host showed his face. He sat us. We ordered food from a very unfriendly waitress. Took 33 minutes for our food to show up. $59 dollars later, we sat in an empty restaurant wondering how long it would take our waitress to show her face again so we could get our check. This is just a message to the management/owners, The Mail Pouch is a great ride destination with a great atmosphere. When it opened back up as the Mail Pouch it had great food, drinks and service. BUT, the last 2 times we have been here we have experienced poorly cooked food, very slow service and skimpy over priced drinks. If you are going to charge $17 for a double whiskey it better fill the plastic rocks glass to the rim! For the amount of whiskey that was poured the price should have been $8. When a customer sees a bartender use a jigger for something as simple as a double whiskey it screams cheapness and a lack of confidence in the bar staff to pour a fair drink. We like this place, please give these areas attention. read more

I love chicken chunks. However, I don't love dried out burnt chicken chunks. The garlic butter was flavorful. The fries were seasoned, which I was told they weren't. We started out with their "totchos", a half bag of tater tots (fried) smothered in just the right amount of shredded cheese, diced onion, tomatoes, and jalapeños served with sides of sour cream and salsa. My husband and I each ordered a burger; I had one with cheese and their bourbon onions (wow!), and he had another type of burger that I don't recall the topping list. I had a side salad w my burger, and it was nice and fresh. They have completely remodeled the inside of this place, and it looks great! I had a margarita (mango), and it was delightful. Everyone complimented the food and service but several of us had a hard time with the stools. Didn't matter if you were tall or short. Our waitress did a great job keeping up with our group. This was the second time at Mail Pouch as a neighbor and I went to watch the draft. Had the boneless parmesan and garlic wings along with chips and quest. Both were delicious. We sat at the bar and had great service!!! Nice thing was they understood the crowd that night and turned off the jukebox and turned up the TV when the draft started. Some places just don't get that. Some friends turned us on to this place, and while we heard this restaurant in this location in the past was not the greatest, this new place is wonderful. Interior completely redone - nice hardwood floors, and a nice overall atmosphere. We had 4 people,and we all liked our food. We all had sandwiches and burgers. Service was also very friendly. They have a very nice outside patio and bar, and we look forward to heading back in warmer weather to enjoy this as well. We visited on a Tuesday night, and it was nice to see it virtually every table was taken. Haskins is a beautiful drive, and we plan to be make the short trip many more times. read more

The male bar tender coughed all over everything like 4 times, we order the Black Manhattan "signature drink" and the gal says I don't even know how to make it but I guess I'll try it! Working on the pipeline in the area and passed by this place. I get half hour for lunch so I'm always eating in my truck. Phoned in a pick up order and asked if they had a bacon, mushroom, Swiss burger on the menu and was told 'No, but I can make you one'. Bacon was crispy, cheese melted just right, burger was perfect. Called to place my to go order and the girl told me the menu changed and I couldn't get an order of ten wings, so I ordered two orders of 8 each of their chicken wings. What a tremendous disappointment when I saw what they gave me...not their usual for sure. Grease literally dripped down my chin when I took a bite. There was no sauce on them and I specifically ordered sauce not the dry rub. This was the third time I've been there since they reopened after Covid shutdown. Loved this little spot in Haskins Ohio. The food is very good and there is so many options on the menu. My friend suggested we go there while I was in town over the Holidays and we've went twice already. The staff is very friendly and engaging and the prices are good for the area. I tried the pretzel sticks the first time and got the wings the 2nd time we went. I must say the wings are some of the best I've had. They're so much better than BW'S, Frickers or Jeds. They have a lot of local brewed beers as well. Overall it's been a great place to eat and drink. The interior is very nice and very clean with a fresh feel. Love chose the mushroom swiss burger and it was prepared to perfection. This is a cozy place with ample space and outdoor seating if you desire. There are actual swings at the bar!! BUT I found something black in my beer and when I told the waitress she just said oh gross and didn't even offer to get me a new drink. Also the nachos were underwhelming.
