To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to report a customer service issue I experienced today at a Staples location. My visit began positively. The printing associate who assisted me initially provided excellent customer service. She was knowledgeable, asked the right questions, explained printer and paper requirements clearly, and demonstrated strong sales skills. I appreciated her professionalism. However, after spending approximately 45 minutes to an hour in the store selecting the appropriate paper and creating a print template, I was only then informed that printing would take an additional hour due to a backlog. While I understand delays happen, this information was not communicated upfront, despite knowing I intended to print. That lack of transparency was frustrating. The situation escalated when I spoke with the manager, Myaowa, to ask whether another Staples location (the 86th Street store) could accommodate my laser paper. I did not ask for expedited service--only whether the other store could be contacted. I was given conflicting information about whether my paper could be used, and the associate and manager discussed the situation as though I were not present, which felt unprofessional. Ultimately, the manager stated he could not contact another Staples location because the stores are franchises that compete with one another. This explanation was surprising and did not align with expectations of a national retail brand. My concern is not with the initial associate, who performed well, but with the lack of clear communication, inconsistent information, and how the situation was handled by management. I hope this feedback helps improve customer experience going forward.

Three stars just for the prices. Everything else gets a 1 star…read more The place is a crazed mess on the weekend, so do come in during the week if you can. But even then prepare to be swimming through racks of clothes and women who refuse to move their baby strollers. There's also no fitting rooms so purchasing items is kind of a crossing of the fingers that whatever you get will fit. And if it doesn't fit and you need to return something, there's a strange process where you have to tell one of the "security guards" (basically dudes in t-shirts unlike all the other dudes in t-shirts on fordham rd) when you walk in and they give you some sort of pass and then you go upstairs and wait in a line for twenty minutes to return it. This is on top of the twenty minutes plus you spent in line to originally by the dang piece of clothing that will likely fall apart within 4 months. Downstairs in the basement has grocery and bath products for sale. I didn't realize the basement existed for over a year and then after I realized it, I was afraid to go down there, and once I went down there, I was afraid to buy anything. For some reason, I feel like shampoo that costs $1.50 will eat my hair, despite the fact that its the same brand for $5 at the duane reade next door. Also, try to avoid the perfume counter at all cost. If you walk past with just the slightest look of interest, the people trapped between the counter and the wall will own your soul and spray you like a skunk faster than you can ask them if they have DKNY Be Delicious.

The interior of the store on the surface appeared well organize hence the one star, but as I entered deep into center of the store specifically the fax area, I found to the contrary,an area that was totally unsanitary with the chairs oozing with rips and stuffing coming out of the chairs . I thought to myself your subject individuals to sit down and use the computer it was so dirty it looked like it belonged in a homeless shelter and not even those individuals should be subjected to such conditions. The second star is for lovely sales associate by the name of Vera who was amazing she worked with me because of my materials were bent as I was trying to send a fax. Her Manager by the name of Mohammed was extremely rude. He informed Vera " The fax doesn't work with crumbled up papers like that" I said to vera how dare he insult Customer he needs to be retrained and I believe maybe she should become a manager because it's obvious that her boss is not only unprofessional but rude and needs to be retrained on customer service etiquette. did I mention he has no organizational skills because two out of the five machines were working and lines were forming because he couldn't have a technician to fix the products that service your customers. What a disgrace you should think twice Muhammad before you approach a customer in a condescending manner. You don't deserve your position because you can't handle it obviously and to you Vera, I thank you for all of your outstanding patience, professionalism and customer service you gave me as a senior Your manager Mohammed can learn from how you handle the public and you Sir are a disgrace. Vera the second star is for you!

If I'm looking for classroom essentials, this is the ideal solution since it's a short drive to get to from work. There's a nice inventory of books, pens, pencils, arts & crafts, card stock, sentence strips, class charts (by appropriate grade) and so many other class items. As far as pricing goes, you won't find ultra-low prices. There are however, a few sale items off to one side by the register that vary from time to time- but these items aren't the hot commodity ones like reading books or learning hands-on materials for elementary grades. They're more like playdough, crayons, etc for younger grades. Still, if you're an educator, tax is exempted. Service is fine for me though. Does Teacher's Stuff have everything that Lakeshore would? Not on hand, this is a small store. They will always order anything you need though. But for what they lack in space they make up for in customer service. I have never had a negative experience with prices (about average for NYC). The store is tucked away, always has street parking and never long lines. It's a bit far without a car unless you're in the area, but I try to get there a few times a year.
