I needed to schedule a last minute (about 2 weeks out) birthday party for a group of 10 year olds. We've previously done Chuck E Cheese, Build-a-Bear, Incredible Pizza and Pump-it-Up, so I was running out of ideas. I didn't even know that Main Event did parties, but I was grateful when I stopped by their office to find out they did, and Clint booked the party for me. He also advised me to book it on Sunday rather than Saturday, because they double the value of the play cards the kids get (from $5 to $10). When we arrived for the party, Clint was also our "party host." He wrangled all the kids into a group, got their sizes and brought all the bowling shoes to the girls. At the lane, he brought them all water in take-home plastic cups that we could write their names on. He also took the cake, and the decorations I brought, plus all the gifts to the party room to set it up for us while they bowled. (Decorations are provided, but we had to bring Frozen themed stuff, you know?!) When we were done bowling, the party room was awesome and ready to go. We had ordered food for the adults in addition to the kids, and the "grown up" food was set out, too. When the cake and pizza were done, and the kids got their play cards for the arcade, Clint cleaned up, and moved all the gifts into a locker for us, so we could load them up when we left. Last year for my daughters birthday the lane broke down.. manager took care of us and refunded us.. but this was an 8 year olds birthday. Tonight took my daughter and family for her 4th birthday. Wait was short for bowling they said 30 mins was about 15. Bowling was fun.. but we sat down before bowling waited 20-30 mins to get served for ordering apps. No one came went to the bar to get drinks.. the buzzer went off and we bowled without our extra food. Now back at our table we ordered 3 apps after waiting 20 MORE mins to be served.. went to the bar again draft beer was out . Finally a sweet waitress came and apologized for any wait that she would take our app order and pizza order. (Very sweet lady I actually tipped her cash because she's the only reason we got food). wait another 30-45 mins for cheese fries (which were pathetic, and spinach dip that was like warm and a salad) a large pizza for dinner. The lady gave our table away after ordering I had to find her make HER go out of her way to check our food. Everything was brought out at once nothing was hot. Got checked on once! Went here for the first time. When I walked in, what I noticed was the pool tables, huge bar area, low lighting. I'm not sure if this place is aimed for kids and teens, or for adults. Went to the game arcade area and went to the touch screen machines that sell game credit cards. I bought a 20 dollar one. I was charged for it, and the card did not come out, so I had to contact an employee to help me out. They found the card inside the machine. Their games are mostly for little kids. Definitely not as fun as the ones at Dave and Busters, where you have Deal or No deal, the game trivia for like 6 players, which is SUPER FUN!! The most fun I had at Main Event was getting on top of a motorcycle and racing with my friend. I was a little turned off by the fact that you don't get actual tickets. Even for little kids, getting seeing those tickets come out is probably the most fun part. The tickets you earn, go directly on your card. So when you want to get prizes, you show your card, which has a balance of all the tickets you earned. read more

Worst experience of my life. Do not go here. Rented a bowling lane for $50 for one hour. They seated us (my husband, me and my son) in between a family of 12 and a group of 5 kids 6 and under. I would included their parents but they were busy smoking outside. The family of 12 gathered on the lanes including ours trying to throw balls at one another. They were drinking beer on the lanes. Standing in ours to take pictures of each other. There were other lanes open. I don't understand why we were put there. The kids in the booth with us were running all over the place. Taking the ball my son was using. I spoke with the employees and they looked at me like I was speaking a different language. When she finally said she was going to say something, I turned around and she walked away without saying anything. Left before we got to finish our time. Wasted $50 and a bad experience. Had my son's birthday party here yesterday. It was a disaster from the word go. The party was to start at 2 and we arrived at ten minutes to. Our "Party Hostess" who never introduced herself, briefly ran through the schedule of events, which seemed to conflict with what I had signed up with as far as timing goes. So at just around 2, she says, are you ready to do Laser Tag? I said, well, we are missing half of our guests, I would like to wait until they arrive. So she says, ok well we can re-schedule it to be after your bowling at 4:30. What?!?!? I merely wanted to wait 5 minutes until everyone got there. I told her no, we were supposed to have the party done by 4:30, and that's when parents were coming back. She said, OK, so we'll go now. I said what about the other guests? She said that they would be able to play laser tag when they got there. Wrong. I had to go stand by the front door and direct guests of where to find us after I saw two of the moms and kids wandering around lost. Clearly they weren't telling them where to go. And to top it off, 6 guests showed up between 2:00 and 2:10 and weren't allowed to play! Which I had paid for! Very frustrating. There is no reason we couldn't have waited 10 minutes...Laser Tag is just a rolling start every 20 minutes. We would have been fine waiting. So then we get ushered into the cake / eating room. Keep in mind, I have been grabbing gifts from kids and putting them in this room, our Party Hostess was where at this time? So when the kids get there, she then asks us we get a choice of two Pepsi products, which ones would we like? She couldn't have asked us what we wanted while we were waiting for laser tag? So I have 15 nine-year olds in a room with absolutely nothing to do. Then the drinks come. Then she says she's going to get us our pizza. Seriously, she is the only one working the room with 15 kids? So now they're totally bored out of their mind and starting to act up. We had ordered the cheese / pepperoni pizza combo. Come to find out this is not cheese and pepperoni pizza. It is one slice of each for each kid. Why not just bring several pies of each and let the kids eat what they want? Some kids didn't want 2 slices, others wanted three, and not everyone wanted pepperoni. Bizarre. So now the pizza is done and she disappears again to go get cake forks and plates. Why couldn't you have had them in the room? You know that we were going to eat them. Just have them there! So poorly organized. Our "Hostess" finally comes back and proceeds to clean up the pizza, then we cut cake. When we are done with cake, I am told that our bowling lane doesn't open for 1/2 hour!! Are you kidding me? We've been in this party room for over a half hour, and now we have to sit here and wait? She tells me that our lanes run from 3:30 to 4:30. I say..my contract says it runs until 4:15 and then the kids get to go spend their $5 arcade card that they get. She pulls out something and shows it to my wife and says no, the lane is from 3:30 to 4:30. Total disaster. 9 year olds bored out of their mind will find ways to get into trouble. Finally 15 minutes later we walk down to the lane to get shoes. Get the kids in shoes and they tell us that our lanes don't open for another 10 minutes. But there are empty lanes right next to us, so naturally the kids start bowling, and they proceed to yell at the kids! I hear about this later from my wife because during this time, I am trying to figure out what to do with all of the presents that we left in the party room. I go back to the room and there are people cleaning up the room. I ask about the presents and I am told that they will be put in a locker by our hostess. I go back to the group, find out this story from my wife, who is by now super pissed, and the hostess is standing behind the counter not doing anything. So I go back to the party room where another hostess is panicking and says "there you are, thank god your'e back". I tell her I will move the presents and she says thank you. Luckily I spotted a cart and grabbed it. She helps me load the presents on the cart so I can bring them to the car (at this point no way am I putting them in a locker to have to move them later; my luck and the cart would be gone) and asks how my party is going to this point. I tell her "pretty lousy, actually" and she gets very quiet and flustered and says "well, there is always a comments section when you pay". Really? When I get back the hostess has our kids on the lanes and finally they are bowling. At least this wasn't screwed up. The kids enjoyed bowling and the lane attendants were pretty responsive when pins or balls got stuck. But because we were so late, half of the guests left before they got to use the game card. They'll have to come back to play. When my wife paid, she complained that half our group didn't get to play tag. No discount offered or apology. read more

Took our two grandchildren to Main Event around 9:00 am Monday morning, was not crowded, very clean, great selection of games for their entertainment. We are lunch there and was amazed at the quality of their food. Excellent menu and tasty food reasonably priced. Kids fully entertained and we left around 2:00 pm, great experience, we will be back. read more

This post did not start as a 5, in fact my original experience was horrible, waited over an hour for food and was overall a bad experience. However I emailed the corporate office and within a few days received a call from the GM, who apologized and did not make excuses. Not only did he call but mailed me free passes to come back and have a great experience and told me he wants to re-earn my business. I have not been to main event in a very long time. 5 years or more. I was very excited to have some friends come up with me and my girlfriend for a night of bowling. We would have normally gone to bowlero down the street, but it was kinda expensive for me so i wanted to see if main event would be cheaper and maybe a little better experience. However, this was not the case. At first they estimated a 45 minute wait, but luckily we were able to get a lane while still at the check out counter. The price was fair for the hour of bowling and as well as a bucket of beer. my main complaint was that the service was absolutely horrible. In the first hour the server helped the people in the very small seating area next to us, and then she disappeared so we were not able to order at that time. We finally got a drink order in towards the second order. The single bucket of beer ordered took 45 minutes. After i finished my beer, i did not want to wait as long for a drink so i went to the bar. Well that did not work out either. The bartender started with someone directly to my left then moved his way down opposite of me to serve people. (even people who were not standing as long as myself.) So i was very frustrated and wasting my turn to bowl and returned to the lane to continue bowling and hope to order at least one more drink. however at the end of our two hours we saw the waitress for the second time only for her to bring us our tab. I was very frustrated and will not be attending main event ever again. bowlero will be taking my bowling interests from now on. read more

Main event has HORRIBLE SERVICE, there's about 20 people working here and they never seem to be taking orders. Every time I'm here I have to get up to find an employee who's not doing anything to make them get my order. Main event isn't the place to go if you want fun or food. read more

The staff act like they hate their jobs for sure .... Vanessa working the snack bar area went above and beyond to prove to the customers she hates her job and was over the top rude to us..... Was giving this place another chance but will not return. read more

I haven't actually been to this location yet but it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of someone on the phone. I literally had to call and hang up and try a different extension each time. I had to call 7 times before someone finally answered!!!!! read more

I went to main event with a group of friends for drinks and fun only to find that it was going to cost ENTIRELY too much money just to bowl for an hour. We received a warning when my group had a short amount of time left to bowl and went to the front to ask how I'd be able to extend the time. I was told I'd have to be put on a wait list that was already over an hour long even though I got there first. That seems unfair to me. The food was mediocre and nearly inedible and my beer was flat. Not to mention that there were children running wile throughout the building. Very poor experience. Would not recommend for adults. read more

I had a bad experience when i came here a couple days ago. Their was NO service at all on my bowling lane. We waited 30 minutes, and the waiters when to all the other lanes except ours. After so long, i told one of the employees, waited 10 minutes and still no one showed. So we just went to the bar to order drinks. When we got back, one of the other people in our group told us that a waiter finally came by, but they told them that we were tired of waiting so we got it ourself. When we got to our lane when we first arrived, our tables were filthy with trash and food, and no one came to clean it up. I like to give people a benefit of the doubt, but it was really bad. Maybe its because it was 10 pm at night? Or more than half the lanes were full, but it was a Saturday night. Isn't that their busiest night? I was disappointed, and would rather go to Bowlero down the street, where its much cheaper with better service. read more

Service was absolutely horrible had been there for at least 20 minutes and had asked for a server twice. Finally had to go to a manager to get help for service. Also the bartenders were extremely rude. I literally stood there for at least 10 minutes with them walking past me and ignoring me and finally when someone tried to help me I let him know how long I was standing there he asked me for my ID I told him I didn't have it on me but could he please start making my drink so that by the time I get back with my ID it would be ready and I wouldn't be waiting. I felt that was the least he could do for all that time stood there waiting but of course he was rude about it and refused to do that. Once the food finally arrived after three years of waiting the server did not bring us any silverware no napkins and no plates so we were literally like little children in school using our fingers to eat everything. My friends ended up going to the bar and getting napkins and silverware since the waiter didn't bring us any. Isn't the whole point of being a server to serve the customers not vice versa? Long story short I would never go back to this location the food service is absolutely unacceptable and the customer service is even worse. As someone who works in training for a living this location can definitely stand to have corporate HR come in and provide quality training to improve the customer experience. read more

We celebrated my son's 11th birthday here and the kids loved it. They started with laser tag then they had a sit down meal at an assigned table then they finished with game cards in the arcade. I appreciated that they assigned a "party host" to us - basically a waiter. He was extremely helpful and made the whole experience of managing a bunch of pre-teens pretty easy. read more

Lots of the arcade games don't work. If you tell them they pretty much just say if you can't prove it too bad and keep your money. I won't be back. Dave and busters seems to keep up their games better. read more

Will NOT return regardless of what anyone says! Bought unlimited fun passes for 6 people. Come to find out, the only way it would be "unlimited" is if no one was in the building. When we bought the unlimited passes, we were NOT told that everything had "time limits". We waited for 2 hours to bowl, 1 hour for laser tag, and couldn't get into billiards. Plus, everything included in the unlimited passes had limits on "time" for each session...30 min laser tag, 1 hr bowling, etc. Then you had to wait hours between doing them again because there was a "wait list" for each one. Kicker...what they also don't tell you...after you complete a timed event, you have to get back on the wait lists including re-renting bowling shoes ($$), if you bowl. You'd have to be there for a full day just to even try and get unlimited games on anything. The manager was EXTREMELY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL when we complained. He didn't want to help, just said "we have other families who want to play too". We said "well, we'd like our family to play too". He then said "well that's why we have an arcade for the time between events". We said "we've already spent over $200 doing that and we're not spending another $200 wasting time". Great revenue plan...make it impossible to get what you pay for, but spend as much extra money as possible because the customer can't get to the events they came into the business for!!!! Money NOT refunded or even offered but the manager sure didn't have a problem removing the marketing signs about unlimited passes after we complained...we watched him do it. By the way Main Event Entertainment...if this type of marketing is to be offered on weekends, then by no means should you allow 1/2 the bowling lanes to be reserved for "private parties" when you absolutely know that you'll need the space for ALL your guests (especially since all the guests $$ will equal more than a few reserved lanes of people who bring in their own food!!!!). Poor management!! The manager who worked from 3pm - 9pm on Saturday, 1/2/16 should be retrained or fired. Worst management skills I've seen in a long time. read more

I agree with Leena C. The staff is very unattentive. Seems like just a bunch of kids working there. Instead of walking around seeing what customers need or cleaning up messes and tables they were just standing there with the mess all around them. We were bowling and on my 10th frame when I was about to pick up a spare to bowl again this employee just walked out into my lane and through a stray pin into the back field making my lane reset itself and give me a 0 on my spare. We I called it to his attention he just smiled and said "You're Welcome". What a jerk!! Then our time was up on the bowling lane but there were about 8 other lanes empty and they said we had to quit and get back in line for bowling - there was no one in line. VERY INCONSIDERATE!!. The mixed drink I ordered the first time maybe had 1/2 shot of liquor in it. So I ordered a double and they charged me a whopping $14.00. Plus the lanes are shorter than normal lanes - who wants to ruin there game by playing on shorter lanes than normal. Won't go back. They either need to hire someone who knows how to work a crowd and wants to be busy or maybe they need to pay their employees better - not sure what it is. read more

My fiancé was humiliated by Daniela, the bartender, and her friends which were at the bar. It was a Friday night, we decided to go celebrate his birthday and we were having a great time at the arcade and ordering drinks. He was waiting over 10 minutes to order a second round of drinks with the bartender that originally served us, so he asked Daniela for 2 shots. She rudely stared at him and made him repeat himself 3 times, then she proceeded to ask her friends (which were at a section of the bar) if she should serve him. He has a young appearance and people always ask if he's of age, but no one has EVER humiliated him in that way. Then when he let her know he had been offended, she made it a bigger problem and her friend started offending my fiancé. She had the option to just deny service, even after showing the correct documentation, but asking her friends was out of line. The manager David seemed rude when I proceeded to ask for her name. Horrible place. Please, there's better places. This place is trash. read more
