It is not super big but it makes great use of the space it has tons of pre loved books, stickers, various gifts, oracle and Tarot cards, witches candles and so much more. SHANA SAYS: Super cute atmosphere, fun organizing of the books like pre loved, and lots of cute gift items. Plus a cat with its own hours! Kathy was super friendly and helpful. Made the whole experience better and is a genuine person. They do have a game room and a snack bar with free water as well as a keuring and snacks for sale. The bathroom is for everyone and they are very welcoming. Of course as an independent bookstore they have a wide variety of titles with some new books thrown in. They do mystery sells and bundles where you get a vague description of a book that is covered up and you take a chance. It should go without saying but as you are supporting local businesses the prices are a little higher the HPB or Amazon but it means more here and you should buy local when you can. I highly recommend this place. They even have a section where if you spend $50 you get to choose a free gift from books to sunglasses to other items. Go in, say hi to Kathy and The Cat!

What a wonderfully weird place! I was looking for a local bookstore that was close to my hotel and…read morewould let me explore a little. The Book Burrow did the trick! I will start with the "downsides" (as few as they are). This place is pretty small. Like smaller than I thought. Because of this, its not the greatest place for browsing. They had some "witch" stuff which was interesting, but I was looking for a book. Also, most of the books are used which isn't terrible, but not exactly clear. As for the positives, this place is a true small business so you really get the personal touch when it comes to service. I also picked this place because it did a "blind book" service where they will pick out a book or two for you based on your description. A bunch of bookstores do this, but the Book Burrow understood the assignment exactly. They got me THREE books and all of them were PERFECT. I was surprised how they found my vibe and found me unique books! They also wrapped it in a beautiful paper and addressed it to me! It was like a little birthday gift to myself! As you can tell, I was very floored by the selections. This is the small business of small businesses so I am so HAPPY that I was able to stop by! While the place is small and their selection is in flux, I really appreciated the personal touch from the staff at The Book Burrow.

I really like this place. I'm a bibliophile, myself. I have way too many books to read in my…read morelifetime; I suppose part of my book obsession isn't only about reading the of books, and extends to the finding and curating of a book collection, as no working dad has the time for reading the entire library that I'm building. Idk. Maybe I'm just preparing myself for a retirement spent in the books--either way, I have a habit of buying too many. Thus, it's rare that I leave a bookstore without a few or more in hand. In this case, I only purchased one upon my first visit to Fletcher's, and I believe the reason I purchased so few is simply that it's so difficult to sort through the books here unless one has much time to meander and stare at every book on the shelves and tables--and, for the tables/islands of books in the middle of the room, one must have time to pick up books stack by stack to search through them, else you can't actually see what the books are; it's like losing sight of the trees for the forest. Still, upon my visit, I did find one book that I've been meaning to purchase for years, and it happened to be in one of the stacks I picked up. I suppose there's something cathartic about picking up a stack of mystery books and searching through, hoping for a gem. It's a bit like gambling. Although, I simply did not have time in this visit to linger longer and meander through all the mystery piles. It is for the reason of accessibility--though the search may be fun--that I do deduct one star from my review. Were it easier to find books on the tables, I suppose I would leave a 5-Star review. And, on the surface, they really seem a 5-star independent bookshop. They have so much packed into such a quaint and whimsical location; I really loved the ambiance. The antiques were a nice addition--I'm now convinced that all book shops should double as antique shops with stained glass windows and panels such as this. It's gorgeous. And, yet, again, I still wish it were easier to search through these mountains of books on the tables. So, will I go back? ABAOLUTELY! and you should, too--but plan to need longer than expected to find books of interest. They're there--you just have to search through their tables thoroughly.

You wouldn't know it, but there is a large amount of comics and comic collectibles in this store…read more I have been going here since I was in elementary school because of the cheap used books, but more recently the store opened up what I like to call 'The Geek Area' which is where you can find some of the best comics in Temple (especially since Kopriva's Collectibles closed down). They also buy used books, which is great for those of us who don't collect a large amount of books. Yes, that means I have never sold any books here, but I have bought a lot. So continue selling them books that I will eventually own. Only downside to the place is the staff. They virtually ignore you until you get up to the counter and they also don't seem to be real interested in most geek stuff or culture, which is weird considering the back room. I mean, someone had to catalog all that stuff right? There has to be a geek working there somewhere! Finally, the smell. If you're a book lover like I am, you love that old book smell (the sweet smell of vanillin). You can smell the books going down the stairs to the front door. It's like a nerd lure just pulling you down into literary heaven.

They actually have some 'modern classics'. I hate when all they have is recently ublished stuff. It's nice and cool in the store and smells good (I mean, like books, not like air fresheners or dust or cigarettes or other crap bookstores sometimes smell of) Its just that.... I wish I could afford a $17 book, which is how much EACH of the three I happened to pick up cost. Another thing was..., when I called for directions (after Google brought me to the self-defense studio just up the hill, from whence no bookstore or sign can be seen) the girl was a little snooty about it. Why you'dwant to be rude to someone who's just about to come in to your store to see you is a mystery to me, but maybe she was having a bad day.

I moved from Austin this month and one thing I knew I would miss is locally owned bookshops. But this is the most wonderful bookstore I've been to. They have an amazingly curated selection, that you can tell is really really intentionally chosen. They have the cutest set up of books, stickers, shirt and more! And everything is super reasonably priced. I am of the mindset that I would love to pay extra to support real people and not big corps :) Kalena was working we chatted with her a bit and she is just so so lovely!!! We learned that she moved back to College Station to open this store with her mom! Make sure you come to the themed nights they have every other month! June they are doing Beaches and Bellinis!!!!! (Obsessed with this obviously) My only negative is that I wish there was room here for a little sitting area so that I could spend all day here!!!
