I had dental surgery on a Friday morn for an implant. A few hours after I got home, a young man came to my door to deliver flowers for me. I was so delighted! They were from my trio of dentists, my family dentist, my endodontist and my Oral surgeon! I was so delighted. What a treat! But, more importantly, the flowers were so fresh and beautiful. There were light pastel roses,hydrangeas, and Gerber daisies and some tiny little daisy like flowers along with some dark green color filler. A very thoughtfully made arrangement. They lasted a very long time with attention paid to stem trimming and fresh water as needed. I have never had cut flowers last so long. The treat made my healing time so pleasant! The best florist in the business!! Everyone here is so friendly and nice, and (this is kinda random) they have the funniest cards like one with just a bra that says "you have my support", and another one that's of a *certain gardening tool* that says "happy birthday you old hoe" This place is great, and there's always something interesting to see. Also, if you need a large arrangement for something super special and unique, DEFINITELY CALL HERE. I walked in one morning to find this huuuuuge, gorgeously stunning arrangement in a simple, wooden box. I have never seen something so creative and unique. I'm going all in with five stars because there are lots of things that put Main Street Florist "over the top". My favorite place EVAH for flowers in the Ham - Both ordering and receiving. I'm always a happy girl when I see Miss Q at my door w a beautiful bunch from Main Street Florist! I am lucky that I live in MT Laurel ... 'cause when people want to send me flowers (just in case anyone out there is really reading this!), they look at the closest thing to my house which happens to be Main Street. I am a fanatic when it comes to flowers. I want mine perfect, and, while there is a lot of "perfection" with flowers in other big cities, there is nothing like MSF here in the Ham. The flowers are fresh, and different, and always bundled up nicely, not in some random "florist" vase that nobody wants to re-use - but has 15 of in their bottom kitchen cabinet - yah - you know the ones. These vessels are well thought out and creatively decorated (like pretty short squares with banana plant-like leaves encasing the beautiful arrangement). The presentation is always perfect. I have had Main Street do many a soiree for me as well. From very, very elegant to "farmer's market" chic! Main Street is also the place to go for holiday arrangements, wreaths, plants, etc - and the owner is more than happy to come do an installment of fresh, beautiful Christmas-y arrangements / decorations for you. On the "OTHERS" list: - They do neat kid-friendly birthday stuff - invites, decorations, etc. - They have a wonderful collection of candles (all the great names) - They have gorgeous picture frames and other nice gifts While you can drop a pretty penny in this place, it's well worth it. This is the second time I received bad flowers from Main Street Florist. Last time the Chrysanthemums they inserted were dry, but I didnt bother to say something because all the other flowers and leaves were okay and I dont want to hurt the feelings of the person who gave the flowers. But today was just so disappointing. Really appreciate the thoughtfulness of my husband but to charge him $85 for falling dried petals that have fallen out of the rose and (they tried to make it look together, still), dried mums that are falling off and leaves that are infected with i dont know what - it's already brown and have holes, and lavander stock were also falling off that it has become a mess on my desk. This is ridiculous and I believe the other reviews that this Florist delivers dried flowers. I attest to that, not just once, but twice! Recycled flowers, which they claim fresh and do not look like what is it the picture they are advertising. Not at all!!! If I could give zero, I would. read more

My husband and I grew up in one of the Greystone neighborhoods, so we used this flower shop for both our junior and senior year proms. We recently moved to Texas and wanted to send my mom a nice bouquet. We originally purchased a bouquet that came with a Victorian tea cup. I got a call the day they are suppose to deliver the flowers and they told me they had no tea cups.. the main reason I chose that particular bouquet was because of the tea cup. Regardless, I still wanted something nice for my mom so I got the Teleflora pink vase with the same flowers the teacup one would have had. What they delivered to my parents house was not worth $78. I think my brother could have found a nice flower bouquet at Publix for a better price. My husband and I are very upset. We will have to order from another place to get my sweet mother beautiful flowers. read more

I attempted to use Main Street Florist for my wedding in October of 2012, even meeting with them to discuss a plan for my big day. They then said that they were going to work up an estimate, and they would get back to me in about a month. I called and my mother called, both asking about our estimate and when we could move ahead with a plan. They always took a message and said they'd call back, but they never did! We finally just gave up and took our business elsewhere. If you want my advice, don't waste your time, go somewhere else! **Update** I received a response from the lovely new owners, and they were wonderful! They asked what they could do to remedy the situation, and it seems to be a much more friendly place now! read more

My wife had a miscarriage, so my son and I stopped in to get some flowers to help brighten her day. I asked the ladies in the store if they had a bunch of mixed flowers for sale. I was asked if it was needed same day. I responded yes and was told they had no flowers. How does a flower shop have no flowers for sale? I will never step into this store again. read more

I placed a small order the last week of June for a baby shower that was held on sunday July 5th. The lady wrote the order down on a scrap piece of paper for me to pick up the flowers on July 3rd. I called on July 2nd to make sure the flowers came in and the voicemail said they were closed for the Holiday and not reopening until Monday July 6th!!! They didn't call me or tell me they were going to be closed.... so with it being a holiday weekend I had to scramble to find flowers. Granted it was a small order but I am still a customer. I have received several arrangements from this florist. They arrive with half dead flowers, filler with brown dead leaves. On Sept. 7 they delivered a dozen "arranged" roses that looked like they were on the way out, contained brown leaves that crumbled to the touch, and were in murky water that actually had a brown water line on the vase. I cut the stems and put them in a clean vase with fresh water. 2 days later, the heads on the roses were bowed and 2 of them were rotted through. I managed a flower shop for years and we would never have sent out an arrangement like this. I don't know how much my friend paid for this but I know a dozen arranged roses from a florist is not cheap. I have emailed them about bad arrangements in the past and got no response. If I could give a negative star I would. My guy ordered flowers online through a service and they were supposed to be delivered on Mon. I get a call Tues afternoon and I said I would not be home until late--could you please deliver them to my neighbor on Wed any time until lunch. Well I get a call on Wed afternoon stating that they had left the flowers outside in the 90 degree heat and that they would be ok for an hour or so. I was still at work for like 3 hours! When I told the lady this she got an attitude with me. I had to find a neighbor who was at home to get them out of the heat. When I got the flowers they were not nice at all. A tacky cheap vase with pale colored flowers and there was mold and dirt at the bottom of this tacky round vase. The guy had ordered a long heavy glass vase with all kinds of purple flowers what I got was a pale pink and blue load of yucky flowers that looked like what you would send to an 80 year old woman who collects wood ducks. I even emailed the florist to tell them how upset I was and that the guy deserved a refund. A week later they never responded via email or phone. Real professional. When I mentioned this to my fellow neighbors none of stated that they used this florist. Now I know why. Avoid at all costs. read more

Meeting the Owner and having her fill our order was a blessing. It was all perfect. She was booked tight with a Wedding, orders for a funeral, and etc. Our group of friends from college is spread all over the US. It was hard to find a group of people and then get something ordered less than 24 hours ahead. She took our order, helped me get the flowers in the colors we wanted and even drove a long way to Columbiana to get doves and additional flowers to make the Basket what we specifically wanted. We lost a friend from our college class. Our Classmate was beautiful, did things nice, was organized and planned things out well. We wanted our Basket to her family to be no less than that. We wanted Doves as keepsakes for the family for their Christmas Tree. You get what you pay for. I've paid less and been down right embarrassed by something previously delivered from a different florist. Being embarrassed at a funeral about the arrangement you've sent is really bad. I did not consider our order to be pricey at all. It was beautiful, and the Owner went to a lot of extra trouble to help us. All businesses make mistakes and accidents happen, but it's what's at the heart of the matter that means the most. Thank you from Phi Mu's, University of Alabama Class of '87.
